  1. Interesting that Club Cool (or whatever it's called) doesn't open till 10:30 now. I know for certain that at least in March 2012 it opened at park opening. That's when we all (all 17 of us) were there for rope drop and Ray was charged with leading the herd to Test Track right when we got it while I took all 17 tickets to get Soarin' fastpasses. I was going to single rider TT and catch up with them. Great plan, right? Well, what did they do instead? They went to Club Cool. At 9:00 a.m. And wasted about 20 prime minutes during spring break. I could have killed them. Ahhhh, memories.
  2. Marty, I love this TR. Y'all are all so happy and cute. Love the color-coordination too. It's great to see this report bumped back up again. Just makes me smile everytime. :)
  3. Those square things are just weird. I didn't notice them at first. Definitely don't seem consistent with any wilderness theming (sp??) I would hope they would do. But yes, a room overlooking Bay Lake would be awesome. That's what we had at BLT once, and what we hope to have next time we stay there.
  4. No kidding! I want to be living that dream - for ME! Ray and I talk all the time about bailing on our jobs when both girls are out of the house (and we're halfway there now!), moving to Orlando and getting jobs at WDW. I know that reality would undoubtedly be far different than my fantasy on that, but we're still really thinking about it.
  5. Just found this thread. Very neat video that you found, TCD. Without having read this whole thread, it sounds like I would hate some of the aspects of this possible resort (parking by Pioneer Hall being the biggest offender) but would love some others. We don't have a camper so we always stay in the cabins (which I love!) when we are at FW with family. But I think that a DVC level resort at FW would for us be the best of all worlds.
  6. I seriously may do this. We've got a billion. It would at least be a great conversation starter! :rofl3:
  7. I just had to go back and see when it was that y'all were there. Those non-existant waits for rides - awesome! We were there one year over Labor Day and I don't remember it being as empty as it appears to have been for y'all, but it was the lightest crowds we've ever experienced. I definitely plan to do Labor Day again - maybe 2016, when we won't have any kids still around that we are trying to arrange around their schedule. (OT - wow, that seems like so soon!) Anyway, great report, cute family, love the photobomber on Spaceship Earth. Even more so if he's someone you know. Looking fo
  8. Awesome report so far! Y'all are such a cute family! I have family in Gastonia, and more family in Charlotte. The Charlotte gang has actually been with us at FW before, but the Gastonia family is not the camping type as best I can tell. But, if you know a doctor in Gastonia that looks a lot like my husband (in my avatar pic), tell him Leslie said hey! :wave1: Looking forward to more!
  9. I agree with all the sentiments already expressed about SSR and the Treehouses. We have stayed at both SSR and OKW within the past year (those two being the same type villa-only resorts, as opposed to a DVC add-on to a regular WDW resort). SSR just didn't impress us. It was nice enough, and I will admit that the counter service spot was worlds better than OKW's CS, but the SSR themeing (how do you spell that, anyway?) was just meh. OKW, on the other hand, was awesome. But the Treehouses - I'm dying to stay there. Great atmosphere in that neighborhood and just so cool seeming. One of th
  10. Thanks! We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Wyoming - all 4 of us and we didn't even have any extra friends/boyfriends/etc. this time. It's so beautiful out there. And the best part is that Danielle, who had gotten exceptionally nervous about going so far from home, really seems to be loving it out there. Ray and I are thrilled and so very grateful. And happily, now that she's there and doing well, I now have time to catch back up on TRs!
  11. Nope. I think he looks like the guy from Scrubs. But maybe after a few too many of those overpriced six-packs. Love the Matchgame memories. That show seemed so racy back then - I don't think I was actually allowed to watch it.
  12. Wow about all that roommate drama! That sounds like a tough situation. I'm glad that Twin #2 isn't sharing a room with the new girl. Based on what she told her roommate, I bet she's not there too much longer. Love hearing all about the CP, even the stuff that's not as much fun for the participants. Your girls have such great attitudes that they seem to take about everything in stride.
  13. Really great report, and I'm glad it's not even over yet! I really am going to have to stay at AKL in a trip, hopefully sooner than later. Looking forward to the continuation of your report! Can't wait to see your real castle pics! Ray and I honeymooned in Germany and went there too - but that was a looooong time ago.
  14. Awesome updates. I love hearing about the CP. I'm going to keep hoping that one or both of my girls may do that one day. Love the Frozen bedding and Disney stuffed animals. Danielle went low key on the sheets she just took off to college, but took a bunch of stuffed animals, including several from WDW, with her. That last picture of Twin #1 is terrific.
  15. I used to have a map that someone posted online that showed a path he had used to run from FW, to WL, then somehow made it to the TTC and on to the Poly and GF. I tried it one time when staying at the Fort but couldn't figure out where and how to exit the WL area. Granted, it wasn't put out there as an "official" path by any means, but just like finding the way from POFQ to OKW, there has to be a way to do it without getting smushed by a bus. I still maintain that they can and should complete the loop around at least the monorail resorts, and even better if they could include FW in the loo
  16. Even though I've stayed at OKW twice and SSR once, I had no idea they were actually that close to POFQ. Very cool. Good investigation!
  17. I can tell from where your room was that I'm going to love the view!!!
  18. Great updates! And, so exciting about Twin #1 and the CP! About your laundry loving neighbor, how about that orange shirt hanging from the light fixture? Takes drying clothes outside to a new level. And like Cody, I've been to Mardi Gras World too. That place will spook you out. But it was definitely fun and worth the trip. And yes, that CS place looks very much like the real deal.
  19. Oh wow - I'm dying to stay at AKL. I always thought I would want to stay at Jambo, but after having dinner at Sanaa last month, I decided that maybe I would choose Kadani. Looking forward to this next portion of your report to see how your stay at AKL goes. I'm assuming you have a savannah view? Even if you don't, it seems that there are many easy ways to be able to watch the animals. Great report! Keep it up! :)
  20. :dropjaw: :dropjaw:   :dropjaw: :dropjaw:
  21. Yay for bonus features, and yay for getting to meet you and Twin #1! It was really neat getting to talk with y'all for a little bit. We clearly arrived at just about the same moment, as the cast of HDDR was out on that porch when I got there too, except I had to make a pit stop before finding y'all and by the time I got out, they had disappeared. Y'all didn't tell me about those awesome FP's from the Mine Train - what an awesome prize for 10 minutes of getting to take fun pictures that you normally would have missed!
  22. I'm late getting caught up, but I'm back with you now. That sounds like somewhat of a pain about the hotel shuttle. We do taxis pretty regularly at WDW, even though we always stay on site. We especially use them when going from resort to resort for a dinner reservation. I absolutely refuse to wait on two different buses to go anywhere. I'm in on contributing to the collection for Devine to appear at DIT's next visit. Loving the report!
