  1. Back off man, I'm a scientist. La Nouba will be coming up soon. :) Are you the gatekeeper? (But that's weird since I've never met you - so let's go with this): Listen - do you smell something? Olivia's is perfect for what it is - a sit down dinner when you aren't looking for a big night out. Very scary about Gwen's poison ivy near her eye. Glad she made it through okay! She had it when we left, but then it just got worse and worse. No fun. We saw somethings at CentraCare that we wish we could unsee (visualize a girl with a bad stomach and a clear plastic bag),
  2. I know this is ridiculous, but this picture: for some reason made me think of the dearly departed lawnmower tree - the way it may have looked years ago before they kept chopping it lower and lower. (I recognize that it is just the picture that cropped the top of that tree off, but it just looks stark like that poor old tree stump did.) I still miss the lawnmower tree. :-[
  3. No, no, no - there is no way we would have survived those crowds. One day maybe I'll make it for the 4th fireworks, but I doubt Ray will have any interest in joining me. He just doesn't like humanity enough to bear those crowds. But the fireworks do look amazing, though. Edited 'cause I forgot to reply to this: I actually managed to help Ray believe what he wanted to believe - that the wet spot was from some kid sitting on the bed in a wet bathing suit. (Of course, since all the kids are now 16+, we all know that's not what happened.) So we're going to let that truth stay a little se
  4. The part about them not getting on each other's nerves, at least most of the time, is so great to hear. I can actually see that coming down the horizon for us. With Danielle being just a couple of weeks away from leaving us for school, she and Jodi are getting along better than they have in many, many years. So nice. That's why I'm loving seeing your girls together and looking so close.
  5. Good updates. Love the hammock shots. Eno should be very happy with the pic that Twin #1 posted - it's so cute! Interesting and a little worrisome to think about the dog at the MK on the 4th of July. My dogs absolutely hate fireworks. This 4th, one of them got on our bed at the lake and peed on it while we were outside watching fireworks. Ray found it when he went to bed that night. Fun times.
  6. Love the pic of your girls all together. Also love that sweater! Congrats on your DD doing so well!
  7. Sorry I’ve been long getting back to this report. Life gets full sometimes, you know? Anyway, we’re now at Thursday, which for us was Epcot day. We had our FP+ lined up for late morning, as usual, so the kids could sleep a little later than I otherwise would have had everyone up and moving. This was my view that morning: Leave it to golfers to go and mess up a perfectly beautiful view. I honestly don’t have too many pictures and no notes from today. We wound up having a trip to the doc in the box, which I’ll get to in just a minute, but that distracted me from my usual TR prep
  8. I would have given my right arm or more to be eating waffles instead!! Next time... It was! You're right - I'm glad our dinner hopefully helped yours!
  9. After dinner, we headed back to the MK. It had stopped raining and we had a pretty good lineup of FP+ reservations and passes that were good for the rest of the day due to the rain, so we were ready for fun. I don’t think I’ve mentioned the bazillions of Brazilians (and other South American tour groups) that were there this trip. Somehow all our other trips have managed to not run into these hoards of people. While we saw them everywhere, we had no trouble at all. I generally love teens, and these were just big groups of teens looking like they were having a great time. I do
  10. After our run, we all cleaned up and met my friend Claire and her son (who have both appeared in previous trip reports of mine) for dinner at CG. It was our first time to go to CG since they refurbished it a couple of years ago and we really loved the changes. I can’t even put my finger on what was different, other than that it was very open and airy. Of course, the food was great as always. The desserts were particularly yummy. Good grief. We’re at dinner at a beautiful locale and at one point, this is what was going on at the table. Not for long, though – definitely not all
  11. I'm right in the middle of something, Ray! (I mean Aaron!) :rofl3:
  12. I agree - having fun like a kid is one of the best things about Disney, no matter your age. By the way, my uncle thought he was St. Jerome. ;D Sometimes, it appears that Danielle at least thinks that she's 30. And other times, she may still be 10. Patrick's not as wrong as he may be portrayed to be - but he definitely is a nut. A fun, tall, redheaded (or "ginger", as my girls call it) nut. Glad to hear you liked them. I really think we would enjoy it. And Olympic singers and joke tellers. :) They were fun though, at least till Patrick pulled his crunchy leaf stunt.
  13. Oh my gosh - somehow I missed this TR in its entirety until now! Awesome report! Your whole family is adorable. Please go back soon and do another report! I'll chime in on a more timely basis next time. :)
  14. Good updates! One day I'll be there on the 4th to get to see the parade. Boo on the DB with the dog. Shameful. Yay for upcoming breakfast at TE! Mmmmmmmm.
  15. Love so much about these updates! The princesses (who look similar to but not quite the same as our A&E), tips on lunch at TE (which I've never done before but definitely will try to do now) and of course the balloon. Very magical and special.
  16. Continuing on with Wednesday. We had just finished up the Segway tour. Y'all will have to forgive the probably-way-too-many-pictures-of-Danielle this installment, especially with the Frozen girls. Danielle leaves in just 3 weeks for college way far away. I'm so excited for her but really going to miss her terribly. And this summer has just been a wonderful one with her. So, I kind of went overboard in pictures with her and princesses, but I just loved that they brought out the little girl in my big girl again. So anyway, the Segway tour was from 8:30 to 10:30, and concluded right on ti
  17. I'd say you were right, except the deal is that you're not supposed to take pictures while moving. I try to be a rule follower, and in most of my life I am, but I was having too much fun to not take pictures. But on the fly like that, something had to give, and the straightness of the pictures is what it was. Me too. I think they need another reminder! Thanks! Good luck! I'm afraid that now that we have taken Patrick, we may have boys more regularly on these trips. Almost all of Jodi's best friends are boys so she's already making noise about taking one of them next t
  18. Our fearless guide. He was fun. We spent some time in the stable. I think they act like it’s just for everyone to get to see the horses and such, but I think it’s actually designed to let everyone get their legs back after being on the Segways for a little bit. Back on again: Along the way, we would periodically stop for pictures and fun, and even got subjected to got to enjoy some Disney trivia and a serenade by one of our guides. Despite all my wishing and hoping, we did not get to go close enough to River Country to see anything or go snooping around. But, it re
  19. Time to get going again! Wednesday morning came extra early, but we had fun stuff to wake up early for – breakfast at TE and the FW Segway tour! To answer the question I had asked on FF.net a few days before our trip, it appears to be completely dependent on the cab driver as to whether they can/will drive passengers on down to the Settlement area of FW as opposed to dropping everyone off at the Outpost. Ours had absolutely no interest in driving us on into FW and pretty much tossed us on our butts at the Outpost. I thought about rummaging around the few golf carts that were there at that
  20. I'm in for the full report! And on page 1 at that!
  21. Our balcony overlooked the Starlit Hui. We never actually went but watched it several times from above while we were there. Loved it. Bad blurry picture, but it was fun to watch. The kids in particular seemed to love it. We actually went to Paradise Cove one night. I thought about shopping around but the convenience of the location got me. The food definitely left something to be desired but the show was great. Keep it coming!
  22. Great update! Early mornings are my absolute favorite time of day at the Fort too. Me too. (Me, not you, though you would be welcome to be there too!)
  23. Me too. Especially since the APs will equate to more frequent TRs! :)
