  1. You'll avoid a TON of traffic going that way. Just watch the police, especially where the speed limit drops to 30MPH near Western Way. We use that way all of the time, and my wife uses it coming home from work every day. Much more relaxing.
  2. Different Doug here. :) Lake Louisa State Park is very nice. We live a few miles from there, but still enjoy camping at the park. Great prices too. I posted some pictures here: http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/13000-lake-louisa-state-park-clermont-fl/
  3. When my wife and I came down on our honeymoon in 1984, that was the building we went to in order to pick up our vacation package materials. It was several years later when it became AAU headquarters. In 84, if I recall correctly, the building contained no displays from years past, just desks.
  4. Normally, yes. I am wondering if in this case, he was sent out on the porch to entertain and to get people interested in the show. Given that he is normally entertaining inside, not having a nametag wouldn't be an issue. When he was telling us that management was getting him a new nametag, he implied that it was a bit of a "high priority". So I guess people realized he no longer had a nametag after they had him go outside. In any case, I found it a nice change, and he was very nice and friendly. People seemed to really enjoy him walking around and playing/singing for them. At the many
  5. We asked him the same thing. Apparently his had just broken, and they were in the process of getting him one. His name was Chris, and management told him it was going to say Cowboy Chris. He used to work the cruise line, and now had something to do with Hoop De Doo Revue. Had some really nice cowboy boots on. People next to us mentioned that he had different boots on the previous day. He was asking people if they were going to see the show and if they had checked in.
  6. Never saw the bagpipe guy. That doesn't really make sense given the setting.
  7. This weekend, my wife and I were sitting on the porch at Trails End when a banjo player came around playing for people. He sat down at our table. It was very enjoyable, and, I thought, a nice touch. Here is a video http://youtu.be/LFiZlTOv9i8
  8. Walked through that area today and did not see anything, so who knows?
  9. We're in the 200 loop so we didn't hear anything. If I hear anything I'll post it here.
  10. Saw it tonight. It wasn't bad, but the plot s pretty simple. My wife and I were glad we saw it, but once was enough. Did like the visits into various heads during the closing credits.
  11. The Boardwalk Hess is a Speedway now. Passed by today.
  12. This is true, they are designed so that they can WITHSTAND more flex. in other words, they have stiffer sidewalls. If you ever try to install an ST tire onto a rim, the difference is amazing. I struggled with one for hours until I finally gave in and drove to a tire shop. The guy there asked me if I tried it myself and when I told him yes, he laughed and said, "These tires even strain our machines." They are much more difficult than a car tire, and he wasn't exaggerating. Like you said, it is amazing how much those tires scuff and flex when backing in a tight turn. It leaves nice mark
  13. The biggest issue with ST tires in general (beyond improper inflation and inspection) is overloading. When you look at the GVWR on many trailers and then look at the weight limit for the tires, it is appalling how close the tires come to being overloaded. In fact, I've seen some cases where the GVWR is based on axle capacity, and not the tires; and would result in the tires being overloaded before hitting the GVWR. The tires on my camper have about 6,000 miles on them. I had one replaced under warranty due to a slit in the sidewall that was caused by a manufacturing defect. They are load
  14. Judging by the sun, it looks fairly early in the morning. They may have adjusted the timing of the lights. I went through today and it was great, and even used it to cut across heading by the Fort and did not have to wait long.
  15. I try to snag a few reservations when the year opens and then will check for other openings periodically.
  16. As of today, the old pumpkin is on top of the refrigerator.
  17. Thanks for posting that picture. I've been through there several times since the light was activated, and each time traffic was backed up to the toll booths. It is nice to see it somewhat empty. My wife says heading into work in the morning it is often a bit backed up as well.
  18. Highlands Hammock State Park is in Sebring; right next to Avon Park. I posted pictures on this site here: http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/15826-highlands-hammock-state-park-sebring-fl/
  19. That was an experience! We should have stayed and walked around the park while it cleared out.
  20. Here is an interesting web site: http://www.takemetotomorrowland.com/
