All the outside rides got shut down at that time, and there was much unpleasantness. LOL at the photo of the lady who blocked your parade view. Good job. Did you ever look up her hashtag? ependydad...Doug 176 Posted June 10, 2015 Author Report Share Posted June 10, 2015 Ok, continuing in on our 24-hour event. By this point, it was 3:45am. Whew, time flies when you're having fun. I've never gotten to drive when doing the Tomorrowland Speedway - always a passenger. So off we went for that: (Those cars are tricky to drive!) From there, we headed to my most favorite ride (holy selfie overload... don't say I didn't warn you!): And then we needed naps: Disney had a big sign setup. We saw people pointing to the time. And others who said they've gotten a picture by the sign each hour (seems like a glorious waste of time to me!). So we did the only logical thing and just held hands: They had a DJ'd Dance Party out in front of the castle. I'm not a dancer (mostly), but there were a good many folks dancing. I love that the PhotoPass photographers will take photos with your phone (even though we bought the Memory Maker). I appreciate that they take their time and try to adjust brightness and exposure levels. Kudos to them- very rarely do I walk away with crappy iPhone photos. To wrap up the 24-hour event, we made our way up main street and staked out our spot. Here we are about a quarter of 6. She's always beautiful: The DJ from the dance party is on his way down: With some friends: Mickey and Minnie and friends came out to tell us to go the hell home: We had some company:(2 camera guy had the same expression the whole time) And then we were told to light up the night: Closing fireworks: We made it! And then we walked back to the Contemporary. I really wanted to wait for this picture with no people, but I was tired and had sore feet and was ready to go lay down. So, this is what you get: We slept for a while, but then tomorrow, we had plans for Beaches and Cream and more. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

ependydad...Doug 176 Posted June 11, 2015 Author Report Share Posted June 11, 2015 Knowing we had a super late night with the 24-hour event, we decided that a late lunch and dinner made sense. While I'm a fan of Disney transportation, I dislike it when it comes to resort-to-resort trips. To save us time (because, you know- we woke up late), we decided on a cab. A nice touch (if you trust public cables/charging stations): We were 10 minutes late for our reservation. I call that a win! Here's my cutie at Beaches & Cream. I hadn't taken a photo of the button. We got the idea for the "ears" for "years" from a prior button- a CM wrote that our daughter was "10 'ears' cancer free". Somehow we claimed we were going to eat light and ended up with this: She got the grilled cheese & tomato soup. And I got a chicken sandwich and steak fries. I'm a sucker for beer battered onion rings and these were good. Our waiter was fun. No picture of him, but he made a big fuss over our anniversary. Balloon, sirens, the whole 9 years. It was cute (not as cute as her, though): We shared some kind of Milky Way Caramel sort of thing: Like DaveInTn, I had to make a pit stop on my way out. No pictures of that thankfully, but I did catch a picture of my sweetie: We were a little rushed at this point with trying to catch FastPasses at: Ok, not so rushed that we didn't do some pictures: And, we made it: Ready to go: Scared face warm ups: I didn't like it. Nah, I'm just stupid- that's one of my favorite WDW rides. See: There's a tree growing out of my head! Next, we went on a safari. I'm very sad that they did away with the silly story line. It was hokey, but it was fun. Front-row seats let me checkout the safari truck itself: It's hard to read, but I'm fairly positive this odometer says 95,000+ miles. That's a lot of miles for such a short drive. And, there's a neat view of my pretty: Animals blocking the road: Looking at them, looking at us: We got a sighting of the elusive Harnessed People: Construction: If I were TCD, I'd have a story about this construction, it's tie-in to the fort, and how I feel about it. But, I'm me- it's construction. Brown, 4 legs, big horns: Making a mountain out of a molehill and some animals behind it: In hiding: This is what I felt after our "light" lunch: Zebras: Curly antlers: There's more coming from Animal Kingdom but I'm at my limit.
