We drove to packet pick up in january and there was no parking, we could have driven this time because there was plenty of parking. Live and learn! No hay on a "hay ride" - because of allergies. Imagine that After a quick trip to EPCOT; luggage check; full body scan and an anal probe - oops, that's TSA ... we're at Disney. :rofl2:Quick bag check and we're off to American Showcase (with the Kaki Gori pit stop) and here come's Davy Jones!The Concert was good; he was very amusing; everyone wished he had sang more of the 'old stuff'. Gratuitous tambourine shot :rofl2:TCD had Turkey Butts ... I think mines a little more appealing ... Mo' Rockin A future Belly Dancer getting an early start :rofl2:Watched Illuminations. Great pictures, I would be really jealous but it is going to be a nice day here. Not Disney but at least sunny. So would you go to the Contempo Cafe again? I have been checking out dining options that won't involve taking a bus. We won't have our car for the 4th and most eating will be done at the campsite. We have a night at Ohana on the 5th and the Wave on the 3rd. There wasn't even a Handicap Parking space open. People were doing what we did - drop off someone and circle the lots hoping - or just drive elsewhere until they got a call. Packet Pickup in January took 2 hours - it took 10 minutes yesterday. Based on that experience, we decided to Bus. Except for the long delay from Pop to WWOS and return, it really wasn't that bad. IF we could have gone straight from The Fort to some non-resort bus stop to get to WWOS, it would have been MUCH better.@Doodle - Would I go back to the Contempo - yes. It has turkey, brie, arugula and the bread is smeared with apple butter and grilled. The french fries are great and abundant. My son had the hamburger and caesar last time and said they were both some of the best he's had on disney!It is gorgeous today, sunny with a gorgeous blue sky and a nice breeze. Chris is not going to come he has a bug, that's what happens when you work with germy children. I am trying to decide if I should go ahead and take his place for the 5k. My Mama wants to stay at least three more weeks! There was a small blurb about the bus to WWOS running from host resorts. I probably read that 6 months ago when I signed up for the ExE Challenge. After the same site said that there would be transportation to the races from ALL resorts for the January races - and it was from ALL the Resorts EXCEPT Fort Wilderness - I probably brushed it off figuring that transportation from The Fort would be FUBAR. The only SIGN that actually had the Hour and Half Hour times was at WWOS. The Pop bus also serviced Caribbean Beach, and neither of those mentioned it. 2. Everyone on the bus with us to WWOS complained about no bus from a location everyone had "easy" access to. One additional bus looping from DTD, the TTC or one of the parks would have created a LOT of good will. There were specific mentions about the bus that used to run from The Studios to WWOS. I did notice that someone was setting up z birthday party for kids at the pavilion. The hot tub was full of children who were splashing around so mama got out.We took some snacks and drinks with us. Thankfully, I was able to grab a table when I saw someone leaving. It was thoroughly enjoyable.Btw, when the bus arrived from the outpost there was a huge group with coolers and presents getting off to join the party.
