Roller ... aka Ed 351 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Share Posted May 14, 2011 Back to The Fort ... with a sidetrack to Wilderness Lodge for lunch.Roaring Forks was just the thing ~Oh, Look! The new Carrot Cake Cupcake - and a S'more Cupcake!The Chef's Special of the Day Buffalo Chicken Flatbread sounded good to me. $32.17 for a flatbread, chicken nuggets and two cupcakes!?! That's just crazy!The flatbread was ok - JUST ok. If I'm going to get a flatbread at Disney in the future, it's going to be at Wolfgang Puck's! Rita was just as impressed by her chicken nuggets and minimal dose of fries ...The Carrot Cake Cupcake ... I HATED the frosting. That was my first comment after the first bite! Rita thought the Cake was too heavy. Over all - 4 thumbs down!The S'Mores Cupcake - it wasn't too bad, but sadly lacking in CHOCOLATE! Both Rita & I agreed on that. She didn't care for the cake flavor, but I thought it was good.Back to the camper ...The Horse & Carriage was making rounds through the 500 Loop tonight.Fire up the charcoal!OldeKoot and PureTCrazy agreed that the Steaks were "perfect". The baked taters and salad were pretty good too!A nice dinner to end our first trip in the 'new' camper!Even after waiting until after sunset to start packing up what we could, Rita & I were about dead from the heat!No July trip for us!! Mediocre food at exhorbitant prices :argh: This is another reason I am glad we cancelled the 4th. Without a car I am at the mercy of Disney for whatever I want to eat that I don't make for myself. I liked our meal at the Contempo Cafe way better than the wilderness lodge meal, but the best meal was the steak! I love steak and could eat it most every day and never get tired of it!Doodle, just be glad you realized that you're a sissy before it was too late and you were at the Fort dying of a heat stroke. Edward is right, my hair was COMPLETELY wet after we finished what little bit we did that night to start breaking down. My idea of vacation does not involve sweat! I like sun and blue skies, but I love the Fall and the Spring. I hope Halloween is a bit crisp! I hope we can meet and you can try those grits! Don't they look awesome mixed with that over easy egg!I do want to point out that I am wearing my FF backpack in the parks, doing my part to advertise our site! Edward immediately did not like the frosting, but I thought it was ok. The cake was very dry and heavy, more like a muffin. I guess for the price, there are many other options that I would choose to purchase. I was looking forward to the smores cupcake and the only chocolate was the tiny miniature bar that I thought was there for decoration. The marshmallow icing was good.
