PureTcrazy...rita 380 Posted October 7, 2012 Report Share Posted October 7, 2012 Ok Fiends, this is going to be short and to the point! I had to go down to Orlando for a mandatory meeting. Boo for meetings, Yay for getting a paid trip to Orlando!10/3Mama and I get on the road and go through Quincy to get these at Hardee's!Mama's Country Ham Biscuit!and for me a Country Fried Steak and Gravy Biscuit!We have a pretty uneventful trip in the rain. We check in to the SPM Blue Tree Resort. I was a little worried about this because I got it at quite a deal. 2 Bedroom Executive Suite for $75.00 per night. We were pleasantly surprised. It is not new, but it has been recently renovated.It had a fully stocked kitchen which included a dishwasher and any kind of kitchen tool you could reasonably think about with a complete service for 6 people. Two full bathrooms and for the smokers a small screened balcony with 2 chairs a table and ash trays! There were 4 swimming pools at the resort and a mini-golf course, as well as other activities.I'm not sure that all the rooms are renovated in all the buildings. I would recommend it if you can't stay at the Fort. It is located almost next door to the Winn Dixie on 535 on a little road right before you reach the ABC Liquor Store!Once I got Mama settled I had to rush to my meeting. On my way back my girlfriend, Teresa called and we agreed to meet at the Lone Star Steakhouse. I picked Mama up and headed straight to the restaurant!Mama said this Margarita was one of the best she's ever had!Not sure about picture limit so I'll finish in the next post! PureTcrazy...rita 380 Posted October 7, 2012 Author Report Share Posted October 7, 2012 It's only 7:30 and we were so close and I knew one of the Fiends that I wanted to meet would be leaving in the morning so we headed over here!So we intruded for a few minutes at Lil Lisa's site during dinner. It was just a very short meeting, but I was glad to be able to actually hug my little friend in person!We looped a bit in the rain around the fort and tried to get a few pics, but they weren't that great.Most of you will recognize this as right by Judy's site!We then head to the Winn-Dixie to pick up some snacks and breakfast stuff. They have done this cute display there.The next day 10/4 is a long day at the meeting, BUT I get out early! Whoo Hoo! So we once again head over to the Fort!I don't know where my brain is, but I have no pictures of our meeting with Dave or Karla and Paul. It was great meeting Dave!I want to say Thanks to Karla and Paul, they are awesome Fiends. They are so generous and always trying to help other Fiends out! Much :heart: to them!We went by Judy's again, but no one seemed to be about. I called Curt, but we missed each other. I can't wait to see him at Halloween!By now it is really raining, I swing by the Winn Dixie and we head back to the room to eat leftovers and junk!Mama was happy to see these!Sadly the next morning it is time to head out. We have breakfast at Waffle House.We picked up one thing at the Trading Post while we were there to bring back for an important occasion. Happy Birthday, Ed 10/6The end! We hardly ever had sweet stuff for breakfast. Mama is gonna have breakfast meat, potatoes or grits and she will make eggs for us. I love the Waffle House omelets, they are super fluffy! If Mama and I share, we'll get a waffle for our "breakfast dessert!"Wow, that was one big margarita your mother had! Food looks great.Room looks great too, especially for the price.Glad you had the chance to get away and reenergize.LOL, it was big! The room was super nice and very convenient. It was very clean and the staff were very helpful. When we got to our room, there was a maintenance man there. I said, "uhoh, something wrong here." He replied that the ac was out in that room. He immediately went to the phone and told them about the problem. He took us to the next room and someone from the front office was there within minutes to give us new keys.There is no daily housekeeping. I certainly don't need my bed made every day, or fresh towels, but I DO appreciate having a full kitchen. She reminds me of my Na-na, small but fiesty! lol :heart: The suite was very nice, its close you say? Definitely an option instead of an WDW hotel.
