This seems like a good place to stop for today.  Coming up we still have Test Track's ancestor, The Non-Ellen Adventure, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends with out Nemo and friends.

There is so much more to come after that so stay tuned!

Let's head to the ole fashioned swimmin hole, shall we?   We start out with a classic Disney relic of the past:       I should stop right here and pick it up later.   Those pics deserve their own up

He's moving even slower than brown paint guy ...

And here we go:                       Do you remember this character experience?     Moving on in Future World:                         Was that a Commodore 64?   How about robot

I don't have much memory of Epcot in those days.....I think I went there once in 1987 when I lived in Gainesville but otherwise never went until much later, so this is all very cool to see.

What the heck was a Kitchen Kabaret Revue?

I never saw Kitchen Kabaret, but it was Food Rocks with different music.

see Gwen's post

I so miss the original Journey Into Imagination.  That redo has to be one of WDW's biggest fails.

absolutely right

As well as I remember, it was a cheesy little show with dancing/singing vegetables.

"Veggie-Veggie-Fruit-Fruit!"

I never saw Kitchen Kabaret, but it was Food Rocks with different music.

correct

Great stuff!!

Kitchen Kabaret Revue - show starts around 1:30

Thanks Mo

Well shoot....it's 3:00 now.  I'll have to wait for tomorrow's show.

good call

You are on fire today, aren't you?  :rofl2:

Well at least you can catch the parade.

depends on what time the 3:00 parade is today

Lovin these old pictures!!!  I'll have to see what pics my family has from our old slides.

Kitchen Kabaret!  We loved that show!  We were not happy when Food Rocks took over.

I have to say, I liked it when I was little, but it would very outdated today, like much of Future World.

Great stuff, Aaron.

Epcot used to look so much nicer than it does now.  It seems really cluttered now, and it's difficult to see the pavilions in Future World.  Those pavilions all have such interesting architecture, but the sightlines are all blocked now.

TCD

I agree wholeheartedly.  Epcot needs to scrap Energy, Wonders of Life, and Imagination.....and use their collective imaginations to add new attractions.

Long before government auto industry bailouts...err, well long before the recent bailouts but a few years after the government Chrysler bailout of 1979, Generous Motors sponsored an Epcot Center pavilion.  This pavilion was like no other pavilion to our family and the family we traveled with.  That is because we were all from a GM town; Flint, Michigan.  Flint, Michigan was a booming metropolis and if Detroit was the Motor City, Flint was definitely the Robin to its Batman.

That is not the case today.  Sadly, Flint has become the absolute worst city in Michigan, and probably right up there for worst in America.  I hate driving through there now.  It is very, very sad.  Not only were we from Flint, but both families depended on GM jobs for their income.  Every house on my street, and likely close to all of the homes in my huge subdivision had a GM income.

Anyway, back to the report and to a lost attraction known as World of Motion:

Many of you know this, but some pavilions, at least back then, had VIP lounges, for employees of the sponsor corporation.

Here were are in the World of Motion VIP lounge where you could get free refreshments and light snacks and the Coke was actually Coke; nothing like Beverly in here:

It's really sad to hear about Flint.

It must have been cool back in the day to be able to visit the VIP lounge.

The VIP lounge is still at Test Track.  I know that Bob has visited there.

I spied some of the old Epcot rental stroller parked in front of the Universe of Energy attraction.

And, so far, I have not seen one giant stroller in your photos.

I know DW and I visited the lounge once but I cannot remember if that was TT or WOM. All we had to say is that our dads worked for GM and they let us up.

People as a whole were more community oriented and had better manners back then. Ramming giant monstrosities into other peoples heels back then would not have been acceptable in the mind of the person with the stroller; at least not near as prevalent as it is today.

I see what you did there.

What?

I really enjoyed Horizons and the old Living Seas.......

me too....it was cool to see the old pics

Rainbow Mickey and Minnie are too weird :)

I mean, in 1982, it was so obvious that future American astronauts were going to where silver spacesuits and rainbows when they went to space in the new state of the art American space shuttles that we would have in 2015.  Right?
