  1. When our kids were young we would go to WDW when they were tracked out in January. We found the daytime temps tended to run from the low 60's to low 80's. I don't think we saw anything much below the mid-50's at night. What we would wear here in NC for winter clothing was more than adequate for anything Florida could throw at us cold wise. We also packed summer clothes for the more typical daytime temps in the 70's. I can't speak to crowds these days but in the 90's and early 2000's January was a good time as it was in between US school vacation times and Brazilian youth groups.
  2. Are they going in any particular order? If so maybe they are stops for some type of event coming up.
  3. C suite means the CEO suite, corporate suite, etc. Basically it is a reference towards the corporate officers.
  4. We were shopping at BJ's Wholesale this morning and as we were going through the frozen novelties aisle I saw large box of Vanilla Mickey Bars in the freezer. The boxes are 15 count and $12.99. We didn't pick any up because by the time we got home they would be Mickey Soup and popsicle sticks make lousy spoons. Anyway for those that need a fix and live in BJ's country you now have another option.
  5. The same for us. Our usual routine was to park the trailer and truck in the overflow lot and take the bus to TE for brunch before we hit the road.
  6. When we lived in California we use to take our longer camping trip at Lassen Volcanic NP. We would stay at Butte Lake campground where a teacher we knew was the summer ranger. You could not leave out plastic water containers as the squirrels there had learned they could turn them into hamster bottles with a well placed bite or two. They were so bold they would come right up on the picnic table while you were sitting there in an attempt to purloin a drink.
  7. It really doesn't matter what they are called as you will end up with too much both if you eat too many.
  8. It's well past 10 posts. I'm surprised it didn't derail sooner.
  9. Rocky Mountain NP is about the southern end of their range. The ones you find in Colorado are the smallest of the subspecies. We use to run into Moose quite a bit when we lived in Colorado and would go camping up in the National Forest along the Poudre Canyon.
  10. DIT hasn't lost his touch. He still manages to get folks to look at pictures of the Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Roll (and its not so appetizing knock offs).
  11. I don't do Facebook. My social media is limited to this and several other forums and of those the majority are professional user groups. If Facebook became the primary communications vehicle unless it was mirrored here and visa versa I would likely stop not only posting but lurking too. I'm not sure how many other members it would affect but I don't believe I am the only one who doesn't do Facebook.
  12. That is because most large corporations are following CDC and federal government recommendations in order to avoid liability for someone claiming to have caught COVID on their premises. It doesn't cost them anything and gives them a good argument that they followed the rules so are not culpable. With as often as Disney gets sued frivolously I expect they will stick with what they have been doing for a while yet.
  13. We're in Carol's boat. We just aren't doing Disney or the Fort like we did. It isn't just the pricing changes but other things that have eroded the experience like having to schedule more and more activities months in advance when we prefer to make activity decisions on the fly. Add in the severe reduction in late Extra Magic Hours and other guest perks and there isn't a compelling reason to stay on property anymore. Our current plan is to see about making a visit in the Halloween/Thanksgiving gap of 2022 and maybe take the grandson, and his parents, who will be 4 1/2 for his first trip. There
  14. I'd love to see a return to ticket books or a limited ride pass that was reasonably priced. Like you we spend more time walking around and go on a few of the classic rides before calling it a night.
  15. They sure enforce them when they think you owe them money but not everyplace in the world plays as loose and fast with the rules as the Fort. 😉
  16. I also think it is easier for them to make a blanket statement about large trucks. They let in RV pulling MDT or HDT then someone pulling a similar sized commercial trailer decides if they can use the pump so can I and eventually the employees are having to spend their time policing what is allowed and what isn't. The way they have it is cut and dry and leaves no room for interpretation.
  17. We have started talking about trying to get down to WDW on 2022 though whether it would be in February or the gap between Halloween and Thanksgiving is yet to be decided. It would be for our 40th wedding anniversary so we really want things fully opened and running smoothly.
  18. It sounds like a way for Disney to incent AP holders to visit on slower days without the backlash of blackout dates. If they set the points low enough I could also see this as having the potential of attracting visitors to their resorts during the slow times too.
  19. We've thought about upgrading to a small diesel pusher in a couple of years after Rene retires. Normally we would buy new but are considering used. I expect to see fair number of 2 and 3 year old models with low mileage on the market for a decent discount after folks discover how much it costs in time and money to keep up an RV.
