Put me in the paper group. Last spring when we went to Disneyland it was so nice not stressing 60 days in advance.
If you wanted to buy the max pass you could but we didn't seem to need it.

For some reason "paid line-jumping" made me think of someone tapping you on the shoulder and whispering "I'll give you a $20 if you let me get in front of you"

Or you can order the Dole mix online for about $30 and have the perfect excuse to buy your own soft serve machine.

keith_h got a reaction from fladogfan aka Gretchen in Genetically Modified Mosquitoes?
I read an ethics article on this a year or so ago. At that time the article stated we could wipe out entire species of pests through genetics but the questions were should we and at what costs. As mentioned bats are one species under pressure that eat mosquitoes but their larvae also support entire food chains for animals such as fish and amphibians. Let's say it works and we wipe out the mosquito that spreads Zika. Do we stop there after all it is only on species? Why not do the same for the Anopheles mosquito which carries malaria? The article left the answer open but my conclusion was we are better off not toying with things like this as it has been proven time and again once the genie is out of the bottle you can't put it back in.

I guess the state can write your arrival date on your forehead with a sharpie and you have to leave it there for the 14 days before washing it off!

i love Disney as much as the next person, but if I lived in Florida and stuff was just starting to reopen, I would be supporting the locally owned small businesses before heading to DS.

The Fiend site isn't bad, but all of the other FB Disney sites are going crazy about reopening dates.
There have been some good flaming wars going on.
Disney is doing a disservice to everyone by not putting out an official statement on re-opening.
Even if it's one that says there is no planned date to reopen at this time, which at this time is the truth.
All of the blogger web sites rile up people with clickbait headings about speculations on opening dates.
I know that Chapek said on that WESH interview that there are no planned dates, but I guess it's too hard for a lot of people that only get their news from FB posts and blogs to read real news articles.

No problem!  Disney has already rolled out their supercute line of masks. Let the #DisneyFace hashtags commence...  😎
Especially when they're trying to sell you something.

Talking releases aerosols and yes so does breathing. While the size of the droplets and distance traveled can vary it doesn't change the fact that any activity involving the expulsion of air from the lungs will create aerosols.
There was a time that quarantines were quite common in this country and the rest of the world. I'm old enough to remember a time before vaccinations and seeing things like measles outbreaks handled by quarantines. I can even recall a childhood friend whose father was arrested for breaking quarantine and showing up at work. The main reason the use of wide spread shutdowns and quarantines are in place is because of the inability to identify those that are infected and the people they have been in contact with. Improving this ability would allow us to do like we have in the past and that is limit the use of quarantine to smaller groups who have contracted the disease or had contact with people who have the disease. We can't hang all of our hopes on an effective vaccine that might not ever arrive or that once a person has had the disease they have long term immunity. in concert with these efforts we  need to expend energy on controlling the spread with as little intrusion into life as possible. This means we have to be able to improve detection of asymptomatic people and have better contact tracing as without that nothing much will change.

I'm sure legal departments all over are drafting coronavirus waivers for all kinds of businesses. Heck I'm on the board of an animal rescue group and we're having to come up with one for volunteers that interact with the public.
I have to believe that the next wave of class action lawsuit ads on TV will start with, "Did you or someone you love get COVID-19?..."

I'm not arguing government mandates in people's individual communities here - that's not what we were even talking about.  The mask requirement at Costco or Disney or any other private company is not coming down from the government. As for the whole "stop being a scared sheep who believes the hype" thing... I'm not touching that argument in an internet forum with a 10' socially-distanced pole. People can decide for themselves who/what sources of information they think are credible enough to believe and what level of caution is appropriate for them and their family, and proceed accordingly. And while I certainly don't know everything (or even close), I do know that I will never convince someone to change their mind or consider another point of view by typing on a keyboard.
What I do believe is that a bazillion dollar corporation like Disney is not sacrificing hundreds of millions of dollars of their bottom line because they're buying into any sort of hype of unfounded fear.  If they made all their business decisions based on popular opinion or social media, plenty of ideas they've put in place over the years never would have made it off the drawing board.
My point here was just to say that if a private company tells you that you must do XYZ to enter their establishment (shirts, shoes, masks, whatever...), that is their right, just as it is ours to choose whether or not to go there and abide by their rules. You can boycott them if you like, also your choice/right. No one is entitled to access to Disney.

Obviously you feel strongly about this situation as an anti-mask and getting life back to normal side.
And others feel just as strongly supporting the wearing of a mask and erring on the side of caution.
Carrying this thread on without it being directly related to Disney isn't going to do anyone any good and end up causing hurt feelings.
If Disney says masks on and someone doesn't want to wear one, then they don't have to go.
Same as people saying that Disney is too $$$, if you don't want to pay don't go.
And Disney will need to enforce their rules (whatever they decide on).

    Holy crap.
This is just as bad as the comments on the Disney Parks Blog.
What a sad state of affairs. So many people brainwashed by those currently in charge to disregard science and even common sense.

Disney would be crazy to try to open theme parks in this atmosphere.

The comments are great on that article.  I would wear a mask in a crowded place simply to not chance getting sick while on trip. Its like wearing shoes...you don't plan on stepping on anything sharp but if you do its nice to wear them.
In fact, thats my new fight! Shoes are against my rights!

Hey for us campers, its pretty easy...  Night before last, I loaded up the wife, daughter and her roommate into the motor home and drove the 15 miles from our house to Bonefish Grill to eat.
We had the parking lot to ourselves, where I found a place out of the way so as not to impede on the other takeout diners.  I dropped the levelers, extended the large slideout and one of the smaller ones, and we enjoyed a nice meal that was still warm when we got it.  It had begun to sprinkle rain and wind was starting to pick up, but we were high, dry, and filled when we left.

Not sure about State parks (non camping activities) but some county parks are opening for hiking non contact activities etc, but the bathrooms will not be open.
That will cut down on the amount of time people spend there!

Unless Disney puts in some sort of residency check in place,  the parks will fill up to whatever capacity is decided on by people from all around the globe.
A lot of the "experts" have been saying all along that people will be reluctant to visit the parks until there are some sort of method to make them safe.
These "experts" obviously don't belong to any of the Disney FB pages or blogs.  Most of those people are chomping at the bit to go and could care less about social distancing, cures, or anything virus related.
Heck, if they were told they had to lick handrails to gain access they would do it!
I like Disney, but I'm not in the same class as those fanatics.
