Hardly anyone there, makes you wonder how they paid the bills in the old days. Neat that the scenery looks surprisingly the same. -
Probably just a coil pack going bad. The weather looks warm and dry until Saturday, at least on my map. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Disney Cable TV set up
PGHFiend replied to Mdt1577's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
The last 5th wheel I had, the cable connections from the factory were all wrong. I had to troubleshoot it at a camp site. Mind you it was already 8 years old, so I don't know how the previous owners ever got tv in the thing. Try a different input port. -

So then it was on to repairing the crushed duct work and putting up the new insulation since a lot of it had gotten wet around the roof tears, I threw it out for how cheap it is. I also added blocking to stiffen up the whole roof assembly and to give me extra nailing surface for the ceiling panel I found at Home Depot. I was going to order from the factory and it was a good price, but it was 250 shipping and 175 crating fee for 4 30 dollar panels. I just think it was too much. Now it's a bit cold here so I'll fix up the damaged cabinet doors and put up the ceiling as the rig sits under a ta -

Can I put the pics in the text on the Tapatalk app or only at the ends? Ok, so I got it home and took the ceiling all down from the front 16 feet or so. I had to cut the perimeter with a multi tool because the factories build the ceiling and trusses as one piece and lay the whole assembly on the walls. This means the ceiling panels are pinched in between anything vertical. You can see the front 10 trusses or so are broken. After that it was a matter of jacking up the ceiling with a bottle jack and repairing or mending the trusses individually as I went. It took some doing but I got them a -

Ok, here it goes! Here is a pic of the new/used/damaged/project 2015 Grand Design Reflection 317rst that I bought at an auction that a tree fell on (I think) this is from the day I picked it up and this pic is better than any pic the auction took. You can see the damage along the roof edge. The second pic is of the damage I saw the dau I got it. The ceiling is hanging down and I knew something in the roof had snapped. I pulled them before, but they must have been frozen solid! The previous owners left it where it was after it was damaged. Surprised they didn't bother to empty the tanks though. -
Now if they can fix the serpent near her with one red eye burned out for the last 5 years, that would be greeeeattt.

Ok then. I've got the trusses jacked back into place and reinforced. I added blocking, fixed the crushed AC ducts and put up new insulation. Now waiting for the next break in the weather. I want to post some pics but can't decide on the best host. What are you guys all using now? -

That's called coroplast, and they must have used nail rivets. If the side skirting is wrapped over you may be better off going to the dealer if it feels like a big job. Most diyers will just cut a clean slit like a c shape and fold down for inspection. Putting it back up by screwing a furring strip behind the new opening and covering with gorilla tape makes a nice clean repair that can be opened again if needed. -

Even if it is cracked, easier to fix in the driveway in a few hours than to haul it both ways and still have to pay 100 an hour to get it repaired. Take some pics if you open it up. -
Extended February hours at WDW Parks

I'm glad to read this. When we started going about 5 years ago, everything was definitely open later. The MK was open till midnight or 1 during our spring break trips. This year the calenders are saying 9pm, so i hope this change happens for March as well. -

I did get a lot done in the short time but there's lots to do. Found out the propane line was cut so I had to fix that as well. Hope to have the trusses repaired this weekend. Don't be afraid to tackle the leak! It doesen't take any special skill to remove a few bolts and have a peek. Especially not at 100 bucks an hour for someone else to do it. -

Are you eating? So it's been reallllly cold here for the last 2 weeks and last weekend it warmed up a little and it was enough to thaw all of the snow. I never checked the info center for the battery and holding tank levels figuring I'd get around to it. Since it was thawed out, I thought I'd try the tank valves to see if they were stuck or anything. I was instantly rewarded with a scene that reminded me of the Beverly Hillbillies. Black gold, Texas tea. Right there in the driveway. What could I do? Luckily BOTH grey tanks were also full so I used that as a rinse! Steep hillsid -

Ok, still drying out but getting close. Bought wood for the truss repair, the factory used a 2x3 ripped in half for the trusses so wood and screws were less than 50 bucks. On the other hand I ordered some repair parts and the rubber roof. As a bonus all 3 holding tanks hold water......want to know how I found out? -

Well, it was repair day number one. I had to replace the main electric wire as someone cut it, I think to remove a hardwire surge protector. Once that was done, I did a bunch of troubleshooting and found a few things I didn't expect.....like every single thing except two light fixtures work perfectly! 12v converter, power awning, led lights, tv's, fireplace all work, and I found all the remotes and the keys! On the other hand, there are 8 broken roof trusses and I removed 16 feet of ceiling board and the insulation under it. Now it's thawing and drying. Are you all using imugr s -

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I called an order in for parts today, can't wait to see this bill. I think as long as I can stay within a few grand of repairs I'll be ahead of the game. I did look and found a place in Michigan called Bontragers supply on your suggestion. They list lots of dinettes, I can always ride out and pick one up. On a similar note, one place I have used before is factory rv surplus in Elkhart.
