  1. Nice find! We're going at the end of March/April! Those days were all 8-9 pm MK closings, now all are anywhere from 11-1 AM!
  2. And.... If you really want to blow your mind, start subtracting the GVW of the trailer from the Max axle capacity and you will see that the engineers who designed these things actually count on the weight that your vehicle will actually carry to make everything legal. As an example, my last 5th wheel had twin 3500Lb. axles, BUT the max load of the trailer was 8400 lbs- 1500 lbs OVER Weight of the installed axles! So they count on the trailer putting 20% of its weight (in this case 7000 X 20% = 1400, 1400+7000 = 8400GVWR) on the truck. Now, imagine that set of axles will spend every minute of

  4. The best, and I mean BEST meal we've had in just about all of Disney was at the Hacienda San Angel at Epcot. We had this meal for 2 called the Parrillada "La Hacienda" with these little homemade churizo, and the corn had this fresh farmers cheese on it. Seriously delicious. BTW , this is the one that sits waterfront, not the similar named San Angel that is inside the Mayan temple. We actually thought that's where we booked, but when we went to the desk they told us we reserved at the other san angel. Well, lucky us because we have been talking about that meal since August. Bonus: get a lat
  5. We have AP's and we love it. The most important bonus I didn't see mentioned is the discount at trails end and when picking up the gag!
  6. Hi Lynn, I'm from out near the Robinson area. Glad to meet a local here. Andrew
  7. If I live a little closer, or if they could move Disney a little more north, I would have no inner dialog about the choice. It's the mileage that makes it a question for me.
  8. These guys are a national mobile outfit. I've seen them wash rigs before, but the website says call for a quote. I know they bring their own water and everything. If you get a hold if them , let us know AP Fleetwash Inc Truck Wash 1807 Premier Row, Orlando, FL 32809 (407) 251-1090
  9. So, for me to come from Pittsburgh to the fort, it's about a 2000 mile round trip. After fuel and the ever increasing price of sites there, are you all die hards? Or is there a point where you just drive the car and get a hotel? Right now for the March / April trip were planning, we can pull the camper to the fort , or drive our car and crash at POP for about the exact dollar including fuel. I'm definitely doing the fort because our passes will expire in April, but I'm curious if any of you have a strategy or a defining line. Thanks AP
  10. Thanks all. Rennie, that's not to far from me, probably the koa there? Also, I'm surprised you know what Kennywood is. Lots of memories there. In fact all of the local schools have an annual Kennywood day, during the week, where school is closed and you go to the amusement park all day!
  11. It's like every day here. Zero sun, chance of torrential anything. It's supposed to flurry today and eventually drop below freezing. Nothing too harsh.
  12. Thanks everyone for the welcomes! We were thinking the 28th to the 3rd? We are going to decide this week.
  13. I didn't have time to reply to all of the asked questions, but I will give you a brief synopsis. I fix campers on the side, water damage usually, and I've gotten pretty good at it. I had a gas 2008 Super Duty crew cab that I loved, but HATED the gas mileage. Pulling a 2002 29 foot 5th wheel with a decent size slide (7000 empty and 8800 gross) I'd get 6.5 to 7.5 Needles to say I tired if that pretty quick. I specifically searched out a 2002 Dodge with a 5.9 24v Cummins because of the gas mileage ( definitely not because it was a Dodge!) This truck pulls like a beast! I get 22mpg empty and c
  14. Just curious if you have a medical card to tow that? In PA we have to have a medical card to tow over 10,000 gross weight. I have a cdl a and have towed 53 foot box, I never imagined a 5th wheel that long. I LOVE IT!!
  15. I know the thread is a little dated, but coming from I-77 , and Pittsburgh, a good stop if you leave after work is the Ft. Chiswell RV park. It's only $30, right in Max Meadows, VA between the I-81 and I-77 connection. Super nice guy, cash in the drop box in the AM and you're good to go. It's about 5hrs from Pittsburgh, then another 10 to the fort. On the way home its a great spot, because you can leave the West Virginia mountains for the next day. Hope this helps someone. AP
  16. Hello everyone, Finally decided to sigh up after lurking for a while. I First stayed at the Fort blindly back in July of 2013, and have trying to get back ever since. Wife and I are going to try and get down during the week BEFORE Easter, as the last time we took our car down later that same week the place was totally mobbed. I just wanted to say hello, and thank everyone for all of the info I've picked up on while reading as a guest. BTW- we stayed in the 100 loop, just by chance, and I know the sites were smaller, we thought it was great for access to the store and marina! Hope someone
