  1. Hey everyone, Got word today that my friends son will be moving back from Full Sail University in Orlando in June. Friends wanted to fly down and U-haul back the few things he has- and asked us to come along. Being the industrious lad (and glutton for punishment I am) I decided we could make a trip of it. So the plan is DW and I are going hit Pirateland in Myrtle for 4 days, then cruise 8 hours south to the Fort. One day we are going to move all of the furniture from his apt. to a mutal friends garage in Kissime with my pickup, then on checkout day, cruise over to the house with the the 5
  2. I missed the August point. Honestly, I know people camp in Fla in august but my wife would never go for it. Can you rent a van and sleep in it with the ac on???
  3. Hi there, welcome. I love your enthusiasm, but I just can't help to think it would benefit you in every way to consider renting a pop up tent trailer and have a local grocery service stock it. If you must tent camp, the loops are not too far for a walk to the meadows or settlement grocery, but they do close at 10 pm and are closed until 10 am I do believe. I'm not aware of any refrigerator rentals, but you may make a friend here that would lend/bring/share one with you. Disney is a ton of fun and work in a way- that makes me want to reccomended you have a little luxury on your trip. Go
  4. Get a handful if the mints on the way out the door. I took a work group of 10 there back in January, good service and overall pretty good food. I do remember the chorizo were good and the quesadillas were good too. I do know that one co worker paid 15 bucks for a long island.
  5. We bought them too and sadly they just expired. We may skip a year, but we had a lot of fun with them.
  6. Thread is silly. If you have the dough for $800 plane tix, and a 24 hour ticket, and a return trip later in the year- you could swing a premium site. Or a cheap hotel. I'm going over to the DVC forum to see if I can stay in a spare bedroom.
  7. Yep, just plug it in. As for wax, I've flipped 3 campers in 3 years and I have had the best results uusing Meguires 1 step RV compound to buff ( which you won't need yet) and their Flagship Premium wax. It's amazing stuff, and it's basically wipe on and wipe off. Let it haze just a touch before using a microfiber- you won't believe the difference it mmakes. I order it through amazon, it's cheaper and comes in an RV size bottle as well.
  8. DINDAVE, I do the grab and shake on every pump. The last trip to the fort, I forgot to do the grab until after I began to fill. When I grabbed the card reader and shook, the whole fron of the pump opened because it must have been hit bu a trailer or something. I looked all around the interior electronics and no one ever looked my way.
  9. I'll add this, and to sum it up- be prepared to visit the nicest campground you will ever see. It is a sure fire way to guarantee that every other CG you go to will leave you wishing you were at the Fort. Wife and I spend a lot of time scheming a way to spend more time there- and it's a 15 hour drive for us. Oh, welcome aboard. And get the GAG meal with mac and cheese the first night in.
  10. Hi there, we are in Pittsburgh, and there are a ton of cool campgrounds over here. We like the yogi bear in Mill Run, Pa, probably our favorite local spot, not cheap, but close to Ohiopyle area and 7 Springs. Look at Rivers Edge KOA- it's on the great allegheny passage bike trail and sits on the bank of the Yough river, we enjoyed it too. We have stayed at all of these as well, so check them out Lampe Campground Erie Vacationland at Goddard Meadville/ Grove city KOA Ohiopyle state Park. And it's on out list but we never go because it's almost too close- Racoon State Park. Hope this helps A
  11. Thanks guys. All I really want is to renew the AP'S we bought last year. Oh, and a 2016 Wildcat 317RE. And uh, a 2016 diesel Super Duty crew cab. And maybe a permanent fort site.
  12. DaveTN, do you think it would help?? Only 6 months in to baby step 2, we have 2 and a half years to go.
  13. If it were me, and I know we talked about this being a good deal 2 months ago- I would take the deposit back and find another dealer and camper. The 2016 ' s are all over the place already and you could get a smoking deal on a 2015 and unreal deals on 2014's. I don't even like camping world for small parts after reading all this bologna.
  14. I can tell you full timing at the fort would cost A LOT more! I had a real nice neighbor during our stay at the Fort late March early April- he was 80, nice mid 2000's class A. He had been there since October with a few weeks to go- I Figure he stroked a check to Disney for 15 grand for that stay. The addictive power of the Fort is mind boggling.
  15. My wife cries when we have to leave. And for a few weeks after for that matter. Glad you had a good time.
  16. That is awesome. Makes us want to buy something right now! Unfortunately Dave Ramsey would kick my butt.
  17. Bet the text is copied from some old ad. In fact it comes up in an ad from Sarasota in January. Just be careful please.
  18. That reads like a scam to me. No personal info, pics of anyone using it or stories of where it's been or how it was used. Also the description goes right into specs and says nothing about how someone would be "upgrading" or "sorry to see her go". Be very careful- I'd almost bet a storybook treats brownie sundae on it being a scam.
  19. I feel comfortable doing 70 with newer maintained tires. I know all of the china tires are grenades at some point, but when I bought my trailer I had to tow it home 500 miles with old, cracked sidewalls on a "hi-run" brand tire. I was so impressed they made it home, I put the same brand on it last year. We towed a few trips last summer and a trip to the fort last week at over 2000 miles with no trouble. I also use an infrared temp gun at each stop and the tires on the truck never got over 110 and the trailer tires 125 degrees. Also, I've read 75 is acceptable if you overinflate by 10 psi a
  20. Dave, we boated up in North East a few times, most would be surprised to hear it's wine country up there.
  21. We come down from Pittsburgh that way and run 79 to 77 and 26 to 95. Real easy drive AFTER you get down the fancy gap mountain in the bottom of VA. It is a 7 mile grade that once you hit the bottom, is a flat 70 mph 10 hour roll to the fort. It would save you from the busiest part of 95 but might be a bit hilly until you get to the bottom of said hill.
  22. Just got back from the Fort. 2000 mile round trip, propane fridge ran both ways.
  23. MDE is down for sure. We're here and can no t see or make FP for our last day. We tried both phones and both say passwords do not match
