  1. Many dealers have no idea if it was. There us a way to look in the wheel well and see if the block has bolts or studs, a quick Google will show it
  2. My truck had 102k on it when I got it last year. It has been to Florida twice now, and a third next week. Lower miles are better in all instances IMHO. Some people think that if something sits it's not good. There are new cars that sit for sometimes 18 months before they are sold, sometimes buried in snow or in blistering heat. What really concerns me is was the previous owner an idiot. I know better than to do something like take a gas motor home up a grade with my foot to the floor because I don't want to overwork, overheat or strain the engine and such. But there are people who kn
  3. I bought an old diesel. A 2002 dodge ram with a 5.9 cummins. Best fuel mileage from a pickup period for towing. I paid around 13k for mine January 14. It's a dodge, it's loud, it's pretty clean ( see my post in fort pictures section) And most of all it was affordable. I drive it daily, it has 120k miles on it now and it was the right truck for us at the time. I just didn't have 50k to throw at a diesel truck. In a few years I'll prob upgrade to a 6.7 ford diesel definitely with a crew cab, maybe 1 or 2 years old. There's certainly no right answer
  4. Jason, anything on a 3 day? Wife and I have never cruised- so we don't want to be stuck out there for a week if we hate it.
  5. Wife and I sat up on the balcony. It was really great being able to see all of the action, and you get really good service from the CM's up there. They also get you a washboard to play just like down below- we had a blast!
  6. Wife and I thought of one, the storybook treats brownie sundae. I'm not afraid to admit we split one every night at the MK. I also want to say that I am very friendly to the cast members and the last trip back in March a girl at storybook told me I was the first nice customer she had all day and gave me my brownie sundae and diet (hahah) coke on the house!
  7. It is such a painfully awkward ride, there has to be a better way to modernize it.
  8. I had a 2005 f150 with the same 18 inch wheels. I towed our first 5th wheel with it for a short time, and I had LT BFG All terrains on it and it towed really well and was quiet on the highway. Only complaint would be the f150 Is pretty light for lt tires and it was a rough ride empty with towing pressure in the tires.
  9. Just saw this, look at my previous posts and you'll see we've stayed a few times at Fort chiswell. The cool part is if you get there in the dark, then in the am you realize your surrounded on 3 sides by cow pasture- we have a cool pic of the morning fog rolling over the hills there. Check my signature to see when we'll be at the fort- maybe we'll cross paths. Have fun!
  10. I agree, it wouldn't be cheap. I'd need 250 for the sign, maybe 400 plus for the whole set up. Just the finish I use is 35 bucks a quart.
  11. Thanks, let me know if you need any measurements from it. I added a lantern I got at hobby lobby last night for about 3 bucks- it's perfect. I had a piece of band iron I hammered out and coiled and painted with bronze paint. We had some flameless candles laying around, but I'm going to turbocharge it with some strip led's this weekend. Here's the new lantern:
  12. Thanks everybody. I got the idea today to add a mine train-esque lantern to the back of the post, so I guess I have to his some craft stores
  13. Nice job with the site, looks very clean and roomy. Maybe get this in your next truck http://www.wired.com/2015/05/ford-makes-backing-trailer-easy-turning-knob/
  14. You could find a better vehicle for 22k with waaayyyy less than 200k on it.
  15. Nice find there. I love the rear garage, that should come in pretty handy for loading up mickey bars for the trip back!
  16. DONE! We just went with black chain to hang it. I have a piece of metal to support the sideways tilt if wind is a factor, or I may drill 2 holes and use a tent stake or similar. Sign is a little over 16" diameter BTW.
  17. Hook your tuck battery to the camper with jumper cables and see if it still pops. If so, you have a short, if not the batteries your using need a little charge first.
  18. All for stuff you really don't need. I could see a mile long bread line.
  19. 70 on the flats, slower in the mountains. I get better mileage at 70 than 65- just a sweet spot for the engine. Its a 2002 Dodge Ram with a diesel
  20. Just got a photo bucket acct. And I'm having fun uploading some pics from my phone. These are from our site 109 ( our favorite ). Love the fact that disney let's me wash the truck and camper at the site. I love things clean! These were taken late March. And one of the sweet cummins fuel mileage on the way down:
  21. OK, got 3 coats of sikkens on, sanded between coats and it looks really good- maybe my best sign yet Then I had a buddy get me some straight limbs from an oak he just cut down, and I used an old bark riddled 2x6 for the base. In this pic it only has one coat of finish. I'm trying to figure if I should use chain, rope or leather to hang the sign. Any suggestions? And for fun, here are a set of Minnie made from 1/2 inch plywood scraps. They were Christmas gifts for a friend and cousin.
  22. If your avatar is any representation, I may chip in for the tickets.
