Smells of Disney World
PGHFiend replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
When we were there between Christmas and New Years, I told my wife that if the monorail ran on the smell of armpits, it would have 1000 Horsepower -

Im going through this same thing after we lost a tread on the way to Florida last month. Looks like either the g614 with all new wheels (totally out of the question because of price) or the Maxxis 808's have pretty good reviews. I think I'm going to get the 808's -

Well, we did it! We bought a 2007 Sundance 2800rls. We brought it home on the 26th, we wiped it down inside and out and washed everything. I greased the axles, tested the appliances and luckily aired up the almost flat spare (had a tread separate in southern GA) On the 27th we got the itch, and the 28th we rolled down to Orlando. Booked first at Sherwood but changed to Lake Magic on the way down. I recommend the campground as a great alternative to the Fort, very low key. This camper has some nice touches, but my favorite part is it's a Mid-Profile 5th wheel and I can stand all the way up t -
Wife and I just ate at the Skipper about 2 hours ago. Wife says skip it, pork was salty and tough, noodle bowl was bland, manager came over and basically to us how we SHOULD be enjoying the meal- Not exactly magical. She did however comp us 2 desserts so we had the Kongaloosh cake and the coconut compote, both pretty good. Overpriced at 65 bucks for 2 entrees no appetizers, mediocre bread and honey 2 soft drinks and 2 free deserts with tip. Add a point for seating us within minutes on New years day in a park with zero dinner reservations available. My 2 cents

Awesome time this weekend! I met Jason, Cindymac, and got spiked by Clark W.G.! And talk about an awesome travel agent, I was personally driven by Jason and Sil on a Christmas light tour and dropped off at our truck in the overflow because of having to stay at Lake Magic (great campground BTW) Great to meet everyone and glad to see the board is back up. Happy New Year everyone!

Thanks! We found one that just came up yesterday and we put a deposit down. Seriously considering hitting the road with it if it looks good when we pick it up on Saturday. Fort is booked but thinking about trying the sherwood forest from the 28th to the 2nd. Anyone down there? -

Thanks to all who viewed, I found a local person there to check it out and will pass on it. Dealer said it was immaculate inside, and the person I found said the interior was in need of a major cleaning and recommended I replace the carpet and throw out the couch! -
Camper Shopping - 5er vs. TT
PGHFiend replied to the_Meirkat's topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
2nd here for BW Companion. I bought a truck with a bw turnover installed already so I bought the companion to go with. I sold said truck, but liked the setup so much I installed a bw turnover into the new truck. 5th wheel camping will change your perception on towing completely. I would have no issues towing from PA to WDW straight through, all because of how the truck and trailer dont fight each other. Good luck, and have fun on your search. -
Thats prime time for the wife and I. Screaming, sleepy kids and sweaty families pouring out, and were walking in!

Jacksonville I95 or 295 with tow vehicle
PGHFiend replied to pixiesteno's topic in Camping To and From the Fort
Hello there! We last came through in July, but the other 6 or so trips we have taken 95 through Jax. I will say the bridge section is / was under heavy construction and was exceedingly bumpy if doing traffic speed, but we never were slowed down by the construction. Good luck with your trip. -

I missed this, glad you made it. I wonder how they did with the historic rains? -
I'm loving these prices with the V-10. Took her to Louisville, KY a few weeks back and averaged 13.6 with 3 guys and luggage/ golf gear. I wish I hadn't sold my camper because It will be a cheap year to hit the Fort for spring break. In fact, gas buddy is saying $350 round trip with 10 mpg.

Short Term RV Storage
PGHFiend replied to cindymac11's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
If that's no good, I was going to use a self storage place off the John young parkway a few years back to store a car trailer while we went to disney. They had 5 Dollar first months rent at the time. It was called Public Storage on oak ridge road. -
I went back and forth with 250/350, and for me it came down to the fact that I can get my 250 in the garage with about 1/2" to spare and it fits in the car wash I use here in the winter. As Weekender mentioned above, there is no difference in 250/350 running gear or brakes....only a spring overload upgrade on the rear axle. I put a bw turnover and Companion into my new to me 2008, and plan on running a set of inside-the-frame airbags as the fx4 trucks sit level when empty and look silly nose up with a 5th wheel. I'm looking at 5th wheels with 1500 pin weight or so but I wouldn't hesitate to ta

Battery for travel trailer
PGHFiend replied to IvanBeausky's topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
I flip campers and buy all of my batteries at Costco. Best price by far and no bs warranty. As for me, I disconnect the battery after every trip and if I were leaving it often, would just bring it with me.
