  1. I can tell you that the Fancy Gap mountains in the very last 7 miles of Virginia are in fact a 7 percent grade, and my 2008 F250 with the v10 pulls my 10k 5th wheel up without beating on the truck around 50 mph in around 3rd gear out of 5. Going down, I let the tow/haul mode do it's thing and basically coast down in 4th gear at around 55 or 60. I do have a class a cdl, and I suggest staying away from big trucks as most are inexperienced and drive way too fast on downhills. Also, when reading a driver's manual for big trucks, it's suggestion for downhills is to use one lower gear th
  2. I have the Emmet Otter Christmas on DVD- it's one of my sister and I's good childhood memories, I could recite almost every line. Was there a show or ride at WDW years ago, like Poo and Mr. Toad, or was that just a fun Muppet reference?
  3. Just read the list above and although I didn't see it listed, we stayed at Riveredge RV Resort right the the far end of Pigeon Forge at the mouth of the National Park...really nice people. I think I'll give a call to see how it fared.
  4. Sad to see this. We're there for our first time in August and really enjoyed the National Park. Hope these good pepole fare ok. Makes the string of lights out on the Fort tree seem pretty inconsequential.
  5. Your welcome. Best brush I have found yet in case you're interested...Get a pole to go with it. I can do my 5th wheel in 20 minutes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000OCIO0M/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1480039280&sr=1-8&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=rv+wash+brush&dpPl=1&dpID=41rx1EzTcOL&ref=plSrch
  6. Wow, that's a long day! I have admittedly driven straight through to Pittsburgh from the Fort but it's a long day too, especially that the last 5 hours are either going up or down a hill with a curve of some sort. I guess I'd take that over NYC
  7. It's a bummer to look at, sure. Maybe it's on a 4 year replacement plan......and this is just year 3! Don't let something like that keep you from enjoying yourself though .
  8. Lets see if Jason , Mo or Clark W. Griswiold chime in here. There's a few others up your way...just sit tight. Once you hit VA, it's really not bad at all until you get on traffic laden I-4. ...and welcome aboard.
  9. Hey bud, I've used that car wash near the camping world..to wash my truck once before heading to the beach while not staying at the fort and I think it will be a little too tight for you to get a trailer in, plus it's in a bad spot, as in too close to a closed curb as you can see from Google earth. I have washed a vehicle or camper at the Fort every time I've stayed and it's no big deal, just bring a short ladder and a long wash pole. It"s free, good exercise, and another reason to not miss any time inside of the Fort! TIP: Bring a hose barb fitting and a hose clamp and turn the provided
  10. Consider how much do you want to spend....then work backwards. A 5th wheel does not have to weigh 13k pounds, my Sundance 2800 is only around 9500 loaded. Also, my f250 fits in the garage where a 350 wouldnt, another reason I use them. I did see a video of a dodge dealer selling 2017 3500 ram SRWs with 4x4 diesel for 40 grand. I'll see if I can dig it up. Here it is: I love my fords too much though!
  11. Did they lift the grates and vacuum up all of the lint and dirt on the floor mounted blacklights in the loading area? Always thought it was something Disney would pride themselves on keeping clean.
  12. Gotta pay for the new bus I guess. I've said it before, best part of camping at the Fort is loading the rv freezer with micky bars to take home.

    INLAWS!!!

The difference between inlaws and outlaws? Outlaws are WANTED!
  14. We were at the National Park this summer and did not get a chance to do any hiking. We did the roaring fork if that counts....looking forward to reading.
  15. You guys are quick with this stuff....wish I had a family that had the means to go t WDW when I was a kid. Now I wish that I lived closer than 960 miles away.
  16. We were priced out from renewing for sure. I would consider the every other year play as some do on the board, especially if it was always 13 months.
  17. Just wondering any other former pass holders were sent the offer for 13 months for the price of 12? I find it funny that after 2 years of us having back to back passes with the little to special discounts offered on anything that they have now expanded the offers. And now that we took a break this sweet deal comes along. Zika scare driving this?
  18. Good one. I'll have to look for that on the next trip.
  19. Always amazed how things come in waves....nothing for months then two in one day. At least nobody found one on Peter Pan!
  20. Is that near the small hedge maze in the back of the UK?
  21. I am a 100 loop fan as well. Every time we havebeen there and the 100 loop cabins were occupied, there were some very nice cars parked in front of them as in Porsche, Corvette, Escalade. Not sure what the means but Seems like VIP would be true.
  22. I don't know where that is...but there is a woman's hands holding a phone with long fingernails in the pic! Is this a pic of a pic or taken through a window?
