  1. Thanks everyone! I'm most happy about being able to provide content to this forum that I get so much enjoyment reading. I'm not always in the know about current Disney events, and not one to post just to put in my 2 cents, so I take it as a compliment that you all value my updates. Can't wait to try this thing out with its maiden repaired voyage being the Fort.
  2. Ok.......thanks all for sticking with this thread since the beginning. I'd say I'm 95 percent complete and only have some minor issues to take care of.....that and to get some wax on this thing. I got 4 new Goodyears installed and took care of the bearings and seals over the last few days. Last thing is to check the plumbing and hot water tank but I'm confident they will work fine. See you at the Fort!! Here's the photo debut for your viewing pleasure! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. You are going to like the endurance. I just had mine mounted tonight and the sidewalls alone are near double the thickness of the westlakes I took off. Glad they are getting you taken care of.
  4. You must have some luck! I haven't seen them have these out in a long time and I walked in tonight and they had whole table of them! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. I know, right. That day was 25 degrees and rose to around 35 and the finished roof was a 74 degree day 3 days later. Either way we've had one of the coldest, snowiest winters and officially the rainiest February on record. Not exactly good outdoor project weather.
  6. I don't think I used anything too different. I added about 50 lbs of wood, fixing the trusses but everything else is the same.
  7. I'm taking it for an appt. on Tuesday. It had to be repaired first, then I will get an "R" Reconstructed Title.
  8. For anyone that lives near the Giant Eagle grocery store chains, travel gift cards including Disney are now double perks from today to the 28th of February. This means that you will get 20 cents off of a gallon of gas at the GetGo stations for every 50 bucks you buy in cards. We usually get 1k worth to pay for the site and meals. I'll end up with 4.00 off a gallon with a 30 gallon limit and carryover for discounts greater than the fuel cost. So, I'll get 1 tank totally free at around 75 bucks and another tank around 1.50 off per gallon making it worth around $100 to buy the cards.
  9. All great thoughts so far. I'm making sure there aren't any basketball hoops over there!
  10. Got the roof on! In a windstorm! Took me about 5 hours the other day....it hit 74 here with sun, after that day, rain forecasted for the next 5 days so I had to do it. Took everything I had not to cry when I put down the glue and rolled out the rubber and then 20mph wind gusts started out of nowhere. I was actually laying on the rubber to hold it down! What a comedy show.....anyway I only put the new roof on a little over half of the rig. I figured I'd just get it on the road for now, and the roof is only 2 years old anyway. Here's some pics of how it turned out. Next order is to
  11. Hitting the Fort next month and will be in a premium for the first time. We liked the 100 and 200 for proximity to the Marina and liked the shade but hated the dirty sand on the narrow sites. New rig is 35 foot and I have a crew cab 8 foot truck. Where should I request? Off to look at maps and the site app now.
  12. The Goodyears came yesterday. First impression is a good one, date codes of 42nd and 43rd week of 2017. The sidewalls seem to be much thicker than the China tires I've had in the past. I'll let you know when I get them mounted up.
  13. He's my hometown guy....I grew up with this man. If you ever get a chance, come to town and see his bronze sculpture. On a side note, when I was growing up, Handy Man Joe Negri lived in the house behind us. If you know who that is, upvotes for you!
  14. Will do. I had the new carlisle HD tires in my walmart cart about 5 times...they seem like a better built tire, but still made in China. I'm giving the USA a chance here, I'd rather spend my money with American workers. I do have carlisle radial tires on my car trailer, and I think they are 9 years old. They have never given me any trouble but on a car hauler they run loaded only about 50 percent of the time and when it's parked only weighs about a ton. I think the weight of an rv constantly sitting on the tires is what ultimately kills them. Most if these tires are within 90 perc
  15. Finally got a chance to pull the tarp off! I'm not joking when I say that it nas been a solid month of precipitation or well sub freezing temps. Even at that, I only had about 5 hours before a 2.5 inch snowfall was expected (and came). I got a chance to see what really happened to this thing. I can definitely say they hit a low underpass as the tv antenna was pushed back in a straight line about 2 feet. I took all of the vents off and took inventory for wood. I bought 4 sheets of OSB last night and hope to get it changed out today. When the snow started, I went inside and made 6 valan
  16. I'm surprised they don't have fountain dispensers more readily available at the Fort. My friend owns a bar/restaurant and loves the profit margin.....currently 10 cents a serving.
  17. You must be on the Grand Design forum too? I read that and thought it was interesting...I assume that is the DRV Mobile Suites Rig I see every time I'm there.
  18. Thanks everyone. I'm getting close but I really need the weather to shape up to finish before the big trip! More to come.
  19. Just an FYI, I just ordered 4 Goodyear Endurance from Discount tire direct. they are having a pretty big promotion on them, AND a 100 rebate visa card. I got 4 235/80/16 Endurance, shipped free for $500.64 with the rebate, $400.64. Amazing price....must be bought this weekend, 2/19/18.
  20. Thanks. I got into it for about 1/3 of used retail so I'll be ok on it. This is my 5th RV repair purchase, though it is the worst. I've been doing a ton of work on it and got all of the ceiling up, trim, lighting, ac vents, put a TV mount in the bedroom, repaired some nicks and damage on the interior and put some new shower fixture parts together. Still need to do the actual roof, hoping to get on it this weekeend. I just need 1 dry day over 50 degrees for the glue to function. In Pittsburgh, that's less likely than getting a Fort rezzie on Thanksgiving. Sent from my SM-G900V usi
  21. What the hell did I just read? That's the most ridiculous thing I've read in a long time.....I really can't believe Disey let's that go on at all. Wierd.
  22. Make sure the hubs actually unlocked since the last time you used them. The Ford hubs are known to stick and can lead to one side being locked so the spider gears in the front diff are forced to turn. Lock and unlock a few times and tap on them. Get down and try to spin the outer u joints, they should spin pretty easy.
  23. Really? 212 a night? That's the end of us coming for spring break then. I was reeaaaaallllyyyyy stretching the line at 175. I mean, really stretching.....we took a day away from park visits to make it work. Spring break for us is....maybe was, becoming a tradition. This will mark 6 years of visits for easter and for that price will push us off site. I know someone else will surely take our place. I hope youtube starts adding smells to posted fort videos because we are definitely out for that rate. Sad.
