  1. They are! But the place isn't the same as it used to be....but I heard a new owner will be taking it over soon, hopefully for the better.
  2. This guy has really gotten himself in a good spot. Dollywood invited them up for a trip to the resort and the parks. So far it's a 3 part series, and he does a good job as usual. DIT will love the cinnamon bread, and I was interested in the giant apple pie (189 bucks). A lot of new stuff and a new water park to boot.
  3. It's moving across the street from where it is now. Cast members I talked to are excited for a more modern stable to work out of. There is a lot of disappointment about the whole thing one thread down from yours. On the other hand, all of the other original resorts have gotten a DVC add on and it was integrated pretty well across the board. I'm excited to see something new, but hesitant to share the amenities. I wonder how the DVC add on affected the Poly pool and such? At any rate, I'm just a guest and have no skin in the game. Hopefully it will look woodsy as the DVC at
  4. Looks like a new pool and lazy river in those plans. I'll be taking my raft and chicken bucket right through the lobby.
  5. I hope they get thier pet back. In some not so good related news, there was a bobcat in 700 last week and it climed a tree to get a squirrel 2 sites up from us. Cat vs cat.....could be 3000 loop material.
  6. My wife was blown away by them, actually teared up when we met them. I couldn't believe how personable and real they were, kind of felt like old friends really. She's really excited they wore the ears, told us they'd make the episode on the YouTube video comment my wife posted. Just goes to show you how random life is. They left Arizona, me Pittsburgh, decided to walk my slow, deaf, 15 year old dog and she lead me wherever from our site in 700. She sniffed every thing and turned down the main road. I heard the horse hooves coming and thought to myself "it does suck to get stuck behind
  7. Exactly....I'm a number to them. Just pay the bill and buckle in for the changes! OK,OK, I agree on the music...you guys have me there!
  8. They are great, my sister got me turned on to them a few years back. Fun fact? I met them at the Fort when I was there last week. I was walking my dog (alone) on the main road and they were stuck behind a horse carriage in their truck, I looked up and it was them! I said, "Marc? Trish?" They were like "It's us!" I walked along and talked to them for awhile. Of course I didn't have my phone and I knew my wife would be so pissed she missed them. I got back to the camper and told her, she didn't believe me! We were riding our bikes and I spotted their truck. My
  9. Don't feel sorry for me, I don't live in the past.
  10. I'd like it to be somewhere else too, but to keep it out out view from the other resorts like they do and use existing infrastructure it makes sense for them. I think it will be well hidden, the settlement may become busier but will it be that bad? I guess I really can't say, and me saying anything is moot anyhow. I'm not a cart person, so I wouldn't mind keeping them all out, but I'm not sure everyone feels that way. If it shares a boat, it shares a boat. Hopefully it will be the bigger ones or more often.
  11. I think it looks fine. It's a fence. I think the new resort will be a nice thing to check out, and I'm guessing will provide more options for dining and such. No matter what they do or change, it's the best campground there is IMHO. Remember, it's all a show.
  12. We've stayed at the HH Harbor and Marina campground for the last 4 or so years. I have been all through the DVC, ride bikes over from Palmetto Dunes, and roll right in. There is a cool boardwalk in the back and you can go to the quick service and the store. There is a great sign for photo ops and hammocks all over to relax in. Also, go to the beach house on the beach in Palmetto Dunes for Mickey Bars, Dole whips and quick service lunch. The Disney Beach House is also the PD public beach access. with a parking lot and bike racks, but that section is gated. Have Fun!
  13. Saw them yesterday at HS. Thought they were going pretty fast! Lots of vents and a really cool system that let's them keep moving while there are 4 or 5 stacked for loading. I'm excited to ride them as well. I'm also excited for the first story of people to getting caught having special relations in them.
  14. The land across from the horse barn has been cleared and the girl there told me they are moving the barn into that cleared space. The beach to the right has something going on but not obvious. There was an excavator clearing the canal behind the 800 loop. Once your here on the ground, I don't think you will even be able to see the new resort once it's done. The trees are so mature and bring so much cover, you can't even really see pioneer hall from the settlement store if you think about it. I'll see what I can grab.
  15. The parks are always busy anymore. It does seem to ramp up as the week goes on, but last night after MK fireworks it was a ghost town till midnight. The fort seems to be really calm, seems most are in the parks all day. By Friday though it will be capacity closures I bet.
  16. Also got 2 free Mickey Bars at HS. And there was nobody on the rocking chairs all day.
  17. Late to the party. Here at the Fort. Today was an amazing day; Trails End breakfast, horse barn, bike riding, nap under the awning, dog walking. A few sites open in every loop, over 25 open in the 2000, saw 2 or 3 Prevost buses and a few other big ones. Mainly campers like mine and many older ones, like cousin Eddie style. Expensive? Yep Value to cost? Unmeasureable. But for us, worth every penny. Ymmv!
  18. I'm just glad they see the potential in the RV market. I also hope that this will mean that the Fort is here to stay for another 47 years.
  19. August 29th being reported from the shrareholders meeting. I'm sure it's all over the web by now.
  20. Thanks all. I knew about Garden Grocer et al, but since the walmart grocery delivery is new up here, I wasn't sure how it was working out on property.
  21. There must be more to this, maybe a cool theme or something. Otherwise, why mess with it, dogs don't care.
  22. Anyone try this yet while at the Fort? Wife looked it up, walmart charges 9.95 to bring them....but what will the Fort charge/will they let them in? Looks like the crazy walmart does not, but the newer one on 192 does. Any info?
