  1. I'm with Dave, COP is a classic.... the only reason they haven't done a full blown update is the the suits are still negotiating with Starbucks to change out family at home scene at the end and add them all sitting around ordering their supper skinny tall and fat frappa lappa latte expresso's with a lemon twist drinks from one of the old order placement terminals from Captain Cooks.
  2. Carmen, all of these pictures are awesome. You guys deserve a big pat on the back for getting 'er done! However, I do need to say that this is the best pictures so far... This would look good framed and hanging somewhere inside the old girl...
  3. SSR is our DVC "Home Resort" and we have never gone there to eat.... I keep trying to get Claudine to go there with me, but she always turns me down for some other restaurant... I have heard that it is very good...
  4. WooHoo! Another set of North Carolinians! I would say Tar Heels, but you never know how folks will take to that term... Especially in ACC country! Great job on the TR so far! Can't wait to read more...
  5. Nacole, I looks, from your picture that you guys had a site in the "main circle" of the campground... which unless things have changed, the most level part of the campground. If/when you go back, try to reserve sites in that circle because man of the sites in the woods off to the right of check-in are really unlevel and even washed in some cases. When we have traveled from NC to Destin, Stone Mountain was always our stop off for the night because it is at the half way point... I remember one year, we pulled in and could not get a site in the circle and was sent to the wooded sites. At
  6. I will be in and out as I can.... Looking forward to more!
  7. Take the tightwad approach... ditch the salted caramels and get the caramel popcorn.
  8. By this time during our trip, Hawaii had really grown on me, and I wasn't really ready to leave... I had the same feeling that we ALWAYS have during our Fort stays.... "if we could just have one more day"... but we knew we had to get back to reality... Sadly, I am not a golfer, and if I were, I don't think I would have been able to bring the clubs because of all of the "other" luggage we managed to bring... The lagoons were on the smallish side... Other than walking around them, we never really took the time to hang out there and enjoy some of the activities. Thanks for read
  9. Ray, I think you need to take TCD with you to clear the path of those pesky "Stroller Mom's" as you make your entrance to the MK! :rofl2:
  10. Ray, we too have made the "natural RV progression".. a tent, 2 pop-ups, a travel trailer, a 5th wheel, and now a MH... Our motorhome is 37' long with the Ford V-10 engine. We pull a Honda CRV on a tow dolly and I have never wanted or wished for more power. We travel the mountains of NC quite frequently and that V-10, although sounds like it will come through floor, pulls those hill like a champ. I have read on other forums of folks who have driven the mountains out west, and they have not had any issues either...
  11. I would love to say that I have done crazier things, but flying half way around the world for some fried dough wouldn't be one of them.... But, I would be up for the challenge. The malasadas were very good, but so is a trip to the Krispy Kreme when the "Hot" sign is on...! Aulani should be your next destination... and make sure you take Patrick with you! That's a great idea! Just send those donations to.. Duane Miller, 3232 Summer... ahh don't worry about it, we'll get there again sometime. Now that I have the "lay of the land", I would love to go back sometime and do some t
  12. The first time we visited Haleiwa, that crepe van wasn't there, but when we went back on Sunday, he was definitely set up for business. When I saw that, I had to get a pic for you! As for the lagoons, Ko'Olina has 4 that are all man made from what I understand. They are very noticeable from the air as the planes headed into HNL make their final turns over these lagoons as they land. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures that I harvested from the web that shows more of an overview As you can see by the red "X" this is where Aulani is finally contstructed This is how the resort is la
  13. Lori, you need to try to get over there to see it in person... I am usually "that guy" who always has his emotions in check... But as I walked around the Memorial tears were streaming down my face... It is indeed a very moving place.
  14. I hope you get there someday too Dave... Someone needs to resurrect the age old tradition of giving out starlight mints at Halloween!
  15. Man! you had a great spot for viewing and taking pictures of the parade.... Were you on the steps of the train station?
  16. WooHoo! If Jon left around 10-ish, he should be well past South of the Border by now... Enjoy your trip down and safe travels!
  17. I'm here finally.... Awesome trip thus far... looks like its gonna be a fun trip all the way around! Looking forward to more.
  18. I have been reading along from the beginning and wanted to tell you that you guys are doing an awesome job! I'm not sure that I would have the appetite to tackle a job such as this, but am really enjoying seeing and experiencing it through your eyes and hands! Now break time is over, GET BACK TO WORK!
  19. Just wait until you receive a bill for $350 for that gown Patrick "dirtied up"... Heck they may even charge for him sitting in that wheelchair!
  20. Okay, let's move forward before I forget some of the things that we did... At this point in our trip we had all gotten to experience each of our chosen excursions, Jessie got to swim with the sharks, I got to visit Pearl Harbor, Claudine and Ash got their spa treatments. So if I remember correctly it was Sunday morning, so this was our last full day in paradise... Remember back when I mentioned that one of Claudine's patients had told her of some places that we had to visit? Well Leonard's Bakery was one of those places... So we loaded up the Jeep with my trusty iPhone and Google Maps in
  21. Okay guys, I know I promised to get this thing back on track day before yesterday, and obviously I failed at that attempt, so I am logged in and am gonna give it my best shot to see how far I can before the phone rings... Dan, thanks for hanging in with me so far... Yeah, you need to check those couch cushions for loose change more often so you can take your bride... And for a trip like this, I would definitely not try to pack for her as a surprise... Thanks for the compliment, and I appreciate you still hanging with me... I am really glad that I got to experience Pearl Harbor, i
  22. Hey everyone, just wanted to pop in to let everyone know that I have not finished this thing yet... Been working for the woMAN for the last couple of weekends in the remote country of Miami... On my way home now courtesy of my friends at Southwest... (working on my next trip out west..) I will try to post an update tomorrow and hopefully finish up... Take care!
  23. Most excellent TR report Kelly... I'm sorry that I haven't posted more, but work has gotten in the way again, but I have been reading along as I could... In fact, I'm on a plane home now as I type... Can't wait for the next trip that you guys take!
  24. Your son-in-law...oopps, did I just type that?! That "BOY" traveling with you guys looks to be a HOOT to travel with.... He seems to have fun at everything he does.... We stayed at OKW once, and absolutely fell in love with that large balcony, especially the ones that look out over the golf course, and I'm not even a golfer. Really enjoying the TR... Especially traveling with a "BOY"... Ashleigh is already pumping us to allow her to bring her "friend boy" as she calls him when we come down in October... I am holding out at "NO" at the moment.
