  1. Or, what if they did something similar to BOG with a bit of a twist... B'fast buffet like it is now, change over to counter service for lunch with items that could be made to order, and back to a dinner buffet in the evening...
  2. Okay that makes sense... I would say look into an air mattress as they tend to come in all sizes these days. The sofa in our motorhome came equipped with an air mattress when we bought it and it lasted about a couple of years. It was one with the air pump installed inside the mattress. I think the pump finally failed so it wouldn't hold air any longer. Replaced it with an Aerobed from Bed, Bath and Beyond and has been working like a champ ever since... The Aerobed brand is kind of pricy, but with one of their 20% coupons, that seemed to lessen the blow.
  3. Sounds like they can't decide who/what they want to be when they finally grow up... This has to go down in the record books of Disney eating establishments that have had more changes within the last 10 years!
  4. You can only eat so many cookies and drink so much lukewarm hot chocolate before you're "done" for the night...
  5. I know you said the couch part is still okay, but what type of "bedding" are you trying to replace or upgrade? Is it an air mattress, a foam mattress, etc.?
  6. Doug, We went to Hawaii back in July of 2014 and stayed at Aulani.... All I have to say, is if you can get there (which is the hardest part), GO! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip, but just stayed on Oahu only and didn't venture out to any of the other islands. If you want to see some pictures, you can go to my one and only trip report and see them here. As for staying and doing some island hoping, I would think the transportation cost would be the biggest issue... Everything is spread out unless you are going to focus on one particular area for a period of time. Like when we lande
  7. That's the news we wanted to hear! Although our detour through Sanford, Aberdeen and Laurinburg was scenic and uneventful, I would much rather cruise home on the interstate!

    Castaway Cay

There must be a "Pixie Dome" over the island!
  9. I have done exactly what you are doing now several times... This is how all the rock stars travel! The "roadies" drive ahead, set everything up, and the stars fly in and get picked up at the airport. This is not weird at all! Enjoy some "me time"! (but make sure you pick up those dirty clothes and have the crumbs wiped up before the stars arrive!)
  10. And people think this is only a place to talk about Disney related stuff... Folks pay good money for marriage counseling these days... They just need to come here. Jen just needs to find a way to collect a co-pay for all those who come here for advice!
  11. And don't forget this handy little phrase.... "I have no opinion!"
  12. You know I had thought about driving to Charlotte to pick up I-77, and that will take me right past you guys... Have a bag packed by the door and be ready. However, I may take Hwy 1 toward Sanford and Aberdeen and hopefully can pick up I-95 in SC... Thanks Beckers... Getting word through Facebook and the news that I-95 is still blocked from Dunn through Fayetteville, then again down near Lumberton. I may have to take my alternate route...
  13. As it reads in the Husband's Handbook in Chapter 1, Page 1 in BOLD print... "Happy Wife, Happy Life". David will take care of you!
  14. Well then girl, tell David the Butler to pour you a glass of iced tea and giddy up on those pictures!!
  15. Go back and tell your family that at least in this instance, you are not crazy... They used to have a travel trailer parked there with a plexiglass panel over the door so you could walk up and look inside.... If I'm not mistaken Fleetwood was the manufacturer that displayed there... however something tells me that Coachmen had a stint there as well. I'm sure some of the other Fiends will come along shortly to weigh in...
  16. We are checking in this Friday... hopefully everything will be nice and dry by then... The dilemma of the moment is getting to the Fort from central NC. I know there is a lot of time between now and when we leave, but sections of I-95 in NC are still closed due to flooding, may have to alter my route south...
  17. I'm with you on both... It sucks for the guests, but think about the CM's having to try to turn the ship over for a new group of guests that may or may not show up, with supplies that most likely won't be able to show up (food, sheets, towels, etc.) with little to no time to catch their breath.
  18. Glad you guys made it home safely... While you are out at the doctors, don't stop and buy any lottery tickets...
  19. If you have a cruise scheduled and want to see where the Disney Ships are at any point and time, you can go HERE. Just type in the word Disney in the search box, and it should bring up all 4 ships... If you are on some other cruise line and know the name of the ship, just type it in and it should bring it up...
  20. Good Morning All, I just checked in with Gwen and David, and they are on I-85 N entering SC from GA. Looks like the absolutely made the right decision to take the long way home!
  21. We went through an evacuation from the Fort back in the 2005/2006 timeframe, can't remember which... We got a notice on the door one morning that said as of that evening the Fort would be closing and we could leave and get a refund, or stay and get put up at one of the resorts on property. We were told if we were staying to fill the water tank on the camper and take it to the parking lot at All Star Sports and take with us into the resort what we needed for a couple of days. We ended up staying, followed the directions as they said. It looked like a RV show in that parking lot. They c
  22. Just be careful dealing with the craziness of traffic around Atlanta!
  23. Gwen, unless you guys have pressing plans to be back home by a certain time, why don't you head NW of the Fort, hit I-75 and see if you can stop in Destin or some other place away from the east coast and just enjoy yourselves... After this storm heads up north or out to sea (like they are "sort of" predicting now), then you and David can take a leisurely trip home. As others have said, I-95 is going to be a mad house and once you get to that long stretch of nothing in SC, and if traffic backs up, or someone does something stupid, you are pretty much stuck. As you guys pull out, top off the fu
