  1. Just an update, my new camper was delivered to the dealer 2 days ago, going in 6 days to pick it up and camp for the night at the dealer owned resort
  2. Did someone say beer? I cracked open a special bottle a few days ago to celebrate the Anniversary with the wife....
  3. I came across this set on amazon while looking, it got all the locks one could need, and they are all keyed alike, I have never heard of this brand, but then again I am new to camping, for under $50 it could be junk? I dunno.... thoughts? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ESOAIS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3CWNGHJ0JEU86&coliid=I1SCF8E159F6W4
  4. so Ill be storing my PUP in the Garage when not in use, question is do those of you with towables use locks of any kind when parked at the Campground? like this Do you use locks when traveling like this? locks the coupler to the ball, and subsequenlty, i would then also get the lock that secures the ball/ hitch to the TV by no means do i live or plan to camp in a questionable area, but if the opportunity presents itself the right( or wrong) individual will take action. The Trailer is insured, I have to check if theft is covered, but i assume it is as its financed, but just one of those
  5. yea but if you stay on property its better to take the boat/ bus in my opinion
  6. there was mention of Ecoboost, I wasn't clear that gas is out completely There are a few "truck only" dealers down in the area, Ft Myers, Arcadia, LaBelle and some just out side of Tampa Like others have said its a $30,000 decision, so if you have to spend some $$ to fly and drive back that may not be bad option to get what you really want. http://www.gatorford.com/ http://www.labelleford.com/ http://sgallowayford.com/ and you have options for airports to fly into MCO, TPA, RSW
  7. I considered a BGE but wound up with a Pellet Smoker from Traeger. I have the Junior Elite, and plan on bringing it when we camp. the thing i love is that its like an oven, I load the wood, set the temp and let the computer do the rest. Pizza on the grill, no stone for a more crispy crust Smoked Chicken Fajita's 18 hour beef brisket Ribs with Mac+cheese The lil thing puts out a ton of smoke even have done s'mores
  8. I heard/ read its mainly going to be parking, with a turn around for the tram I don't think this will increase Park Capacity at all, It will offer more parking. Park capacity was increased already when they finished the New Fantasyland expansion +5,000 guests from what I saw. With the increase at 5,000 guests, Id expect to see parking for maybe 1,000-1500 cars in that area, maybe even a parking garage. Whatever they plan on doing they will make more money, $17/ car to park...
  9. my dad is a mechanic, you want 4 new tires. Reason being is the diameter of the used tires is different from the new one, this can add more stress to the drive line. I have a 4x4, so every time a tire goes, i get 4 new ones there is also the saftey involved, 1 or 2 tires with better stopping/ grip vs all 4 have the same stopping/grip only the best that i can afford to keep my family safe. Check out tirerack, personally prior to owning a popup/ towing I have been impressed with Toyo Open Country AT 2 http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/open-country-at-ii-on-off-road-all-terrain-tires?cat=10 T
  10. you could always fly down here, Ill pick you up and take you to see this http://sgallowayford.com/Fort-Myers/For-Sale/Used/Ford/F-250/2015-XLT-Red-Truck/41108078/
  11. yes, 14 free nights, just have 6 months to use it.... well actually 3.... you have 3 months to register the card, and once you do that you have 3 months to use the 14 nights I dont know if ill be able to use them all, but i intend on using at least 3-6
  12. When I purchased the Pop up, they gave me 1 year KOA membership, and 6 months to 1,000 trails/ encore to stay 14 nights, must be used in 6 months... I then was at CW and joined their savings program. Already have a SAM's Club ( wallmart) membership and the parentals have Bj'S
  13. The reason why I like 1400 it because of the kids, it backs up to the area where they do the campfire and movies, as well as the trading post/ and the pool all of those areas are under a 4 min walk from your camp site. They also have a playgrounds 1 north and 1 south, about the same distance away 5 min walk. also should you choose to walk to the boat vs taking the bus/ golf cart its a 10 min walk and very scenic. I don't remember the time frame for check in, but lets say 60 days out it will ask you on line for your preference, then you can select the loops or amenities that you wan to be n
  14. need a shake down trip, never owned/ used a pop I did join "good sam" as the member discounts on my last shopping trip paid for it... the rug/ ground cover discount was $20 and the yearly membership was $25
  15. that's my thought, and the only trip I have planned is December 11-14 at the Fort I would use it earlier if i had it
  16. So I purchased a camper on June 13th, They were detailing the unit, installing the AC and fixing a few of the PDI issues i came across. but due to some of the PDI issues, they were concerned on parts availability Its a pop up camper, and there was a small cut in the tent material below the bed frame, 1 bed frame was damaged (possibly from the same incident) the area of damage is less than the width of my hand and could have been fixed with a hammer( aluminum bed frame was pulled down and away from wood), and because its a sectionalized tent, they could have unzipped the damaged one and put a n
  17. Welcome, I too am new to pop ups, but have camped many night at the fort in a MH and a TT, hope you have a/c it's hot/ humid in Florida most of the year I like 1400 the best!
  18. We use pool noodle under the bed sheets, the bigger 5-6 inch diameter ones work best. 2 boys ages 1 and 3 in the queen size pop up, we use 3 of them 1 on each side, 1 up the middle
  19. I'd look into a Yeti Rambler, $30-40 depending on the size (20 or 30 oz) or the Cheaper but still effective Thermos branded ones. personally i have a rambler and it holds ice/ water all day long Load it up with ice in the AM, and just add water all day long, never replace the ice and there is still some in the cup when i go to bed 15 hours later
  20. my MIL is on Rangers Drive in Hudson
  21. Bahia Honda is the only place I have been camping at on the beach, and I loved every minute of it. Its very popular so it books up quickly https://www.floridastateparks.org/park/Bahia-Honda
  22. I am southwest, west of Santa Barbra, south of Gleason Where about a are you
  23. I don't miss Boston traffic, Lived in Nashua NH for 8 years and worked just outside of Boston.... my commute has been reduced from 45 miles one way to 70 feet as my boss lets me work from home....now in Florida....
  24. Found the pic its from pop up Portal The thing is if you can get a tank to fit between the frame rails, and locate near the axle it really wont hang that low, The Idea is to have the bottom of the bracket above the center line of the axle thus giving you 6-7 inches of clearance from the road surface. by comparison the air dam on my Honda Odyssey is only 4 inches off the road, and this tank would be 2 inches higher than that and located near the axle where the tipping ends of the traler would not impede or impact it. and another and 1 more
  25. I have seen some one modify some diamond plate with a hinge and clasp on the underside of a pop up, I think they used an 18-22 tank on wheels, and when its empty and ready for travel to or from the park, they put it in the cradle under the camper. Some of the tanks are 8-10 inches tall, and you have almost that amount of room between the frame and axle on a pop up. if you dump it before you leave for home, its empty weight is like 25-30 lbs and should have minimal effect on the trailer. Ill look for a pic
