  1. We looked at the movie schedule as we got off the bus (Sept 1st so was only just out), didn't fancy watching Coco. Got back to the site and my son collapsed in one of the chairs by the TV. My daughter wanted to go swimming, apparently, most of the day in a water park wasn't enough. We walked down to the pool by the cabins, a lot quieter than Blizzard Beach. When we got back, it was time to make a decision on dinner. Had done P&Js the previous night and wasn't sure about doing table service so went over to the campfire to get from the food truck, with our smores supplies in the bag. Thinki
  2. I was surprised when I was there July 4th, that I actually saw a CM talking sternly to someone with a dog in a tent.
  3. Not many photos from Blizzard Beach as I still haven't bought a waterproof camera. Photopass photographers were still there this weekend though, it says something about Disney and/or Florida that my this point the Halloween parties had been running two weeks, it's opening weekend of food and wine, and yet the water parks are still being treated like it's summer. Got to Blizzard Beach, normal photos on the way in. Goofy was around but we missed him. Hit the shop before getting changed, got myself a blizzard beach branded shirt with built-in upf protection, I have a ba
  4. Sounds like they are moving more to this approach, never actually done the queue for Mine train, only DAS passed it.
  5. Greek nachos were good, also like the sausages and mash in Ireland.
  6. I have a feeling if we ever camp in something else I would feel the same way, one of the reasons I decided not to rent a camper on the previous trip. Maybe, the shop parks app does say youth though. I've never actually seen it in person, next time! Oh, if only they could comfortably fit four. Same problem as any of the compact nice looking campers.
  7. Looking at the three Minnie Van trips I've done, the costs now work out Polly -> FW $26 FW -> Beach Club $33 FW -> All Star Movies $36 While I understand the change I wish they'd gone to some kind of tiered system instead. This also takes away some of the flexibility of where you get dropped, for example in July I got booked to go to Epcot but the driver suggested he take us to the Beach Club instead..
  8. Next morning my son slept late, not surprisingly. I had planned to have breakfast at Rain Forest Cafe on route to Blizzard Beach, but we've been there before, so not a big. Plus it's Landry so I didn't have a reservation made anyway. Could actually see the campsite, I will point out that the 7 year old staked the tent up. A/C better set up this time. Made coffee with the Keruig. One of those packages was 36 pumpkin tea pods, so my wife was happy. Had a nice walk around the loop, some interesting campers near us. And other one
  9. Friday didn't quite go to plan, dropped my wife off at work after dropping off the kids, so that I could pick her up later. She's hoping next year when she has some paid time off she can take half a day and we can make Not So Scary, not this year though. Ended up collecting my daughter early because she wasn't feeling well. Fortunately, she was feeling better after a rest, so the kids and I put the last few bits in the car, and swung into Publix before collecting my wife, needed some snacks as we'd be getting there late, and I was under orders to get Pepsi. Kids loaded up on the free s
  10. This was a last minute trip, my wife has recently changed jobs, which meant that we had to rejig our plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas, which has left us with some days to use on our tickets. On a whim, I was looking at options for labor day weekend and nearly booked art of animation for two nights on offer. When I went back into the site to book it I noticed there was availability at the Fort, given this was only two weeks before the trip I was surprised. Booked the fort for three nights figuring we could use the setup time. Wasn't sure about a short trip so soon, but we felt like we
  11. Not much help but I remember seeing bags of firewood at the Meadows a couple of weeks ago.
  12. I was there Sunday from a little after 9 until around 6 some lines were longer than others. The the line for Ireland being the longest, you know it's bad when you get welcomed to the front of the line. They also ran out of Baileys! Their sausages and mash were good though.
  13. Last time I had an early breakfast at Epcot I got a Minnie Van to the Beach Club and walked to the international gateway from there.
  14. Kind of happy to see a Snow White meal you can do without a park ticket but shocked they are replacing a signature dinner with this. Although I discussed checking out artist point before the change with my wife, she took one look at the menu and said no.
  15. I've tent camped in 1500 twice and liked it. Setup last time was a 2 tents and an EZ up.
  16. After doing Typhoon Lagoon for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I kind of regret not taking more photos as my phone spent most of the day in the locker. I'm hoping to do a day at Blizzard Beach over labor day weekend, and am thinking about getting a waterproof camera. Does anyone have any recommendations? I see myself using this mostly for the water parks and the community pool at home occasionally, so don't want anything too pricey.
  17. My wife is a huge orange bird fan. Nice that she picked a character with little merchandise since the 70s! (I think this may have something to do with the fact that she got a photo with Orange Bird when she went in the 1970s with her parents, so it may have something to do with losing them recently as well) This year they have a couple of bits of Orange Bird mech at the party namely the Orange Bird Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom card, and the pass holder exclusive Orange Bird pin. Unfortunately, she's just started a new job and can't get the time off to make going to MNSHHP viable.
  18. Yes no doubt that actually owning some kind of camper I could just drive up, park and plug in would be a lot easier. I think part of it for me is that from my point of view, if I spend more to stay in a hotel now purely because I don't own a camper, that is money I could put towards a camper. Still this July 4th, I had two tents, two A/Cs, the EZ up, grill etc. It took at about three hours to get it all up. I'm hoping that with not taking the second tent etc it will go a lot quicker, since we won't be getting there until 8pm on the Friday.
  19. I keep going back and forth on this, and the setup time really concerns me. I used to go camping for a two day weekend but back then it was just the one tent. Now looking at the price difference between 2 nights in a family suite at AoA or a tent site for 3 nights. I'm still leaning towards keeping the tent site I originally booked. Even with three nights v two in the hotel that's still a big difference in price, not bringing the grill or any kitchen things this time though so should hopefully cut down the time a bit.
  20. I was thinking of booking Art of Animation as the have the FL resident rate on, but manged to get a campsite at the last minute so booked that instead. No extended family this time so I'm quite looking forward to it. First time doing food and wine as well.
  21. There was a 'children's adventure farm', near where I used to live which had something likethis for free, after you'd paid for admission to the park.
  22. I have an autistic child and I think this is ridiculous. It sounds like what they want is for the DAS to be replaced with the previous system. I think the DAS works well, and the systems at Universal and Seaworld pretty much work the same. Legoland does a front of line pass for those with autism, and I don't really like it. You end up loitering at the exit so are in the way as people are coming out, and it's a problem if my some wants to do a ride twice. With DAS if he comes out of toy story mania and wants to go back on, fine I can get him a return time but he understands that means he
  23. Nice that they are adding things to the Fort, will probably check this out next time I'm there with the kids.
  24. My sister and her boyfriend are visiting in November and has asked me to look into Scuba diving in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. She got certified a few months ago. I suggested the Living in the Seas at Epcot as we are taking them to Disney, but I don't think she thought I was serious, or she doesn't consider it a proper diving experience.
