  1. I know absolutely zero about racing, but you're sure making the whole experience look fun! What a great fam you have.
  2. Quick q -- you can get the dining plan at the Fort, right? Even if you're at a campsite? Sorry I don't know this -- we never, ever use the dining plan. But someone said you can't, and now I'm confused.
  3. Fun so far! Cool sand "castle." Glad hubby got the truck back up and running, too.
  4. Looks like a fun trip! Scenery (and companions) are beautiful.
  5. I'm not sure what to make of these! I'd be very curious to hear first-hand from a Fiend who's tried them.
  6. Looks like SO much fun! I can't believe how empty the campground was! Hope it's the first trip of many, many great adventures for your family.
  7. Looks like such a relaxing and peaceful weekend! I love seeing how everyone's themed their little teardrops. So cute.
  8. You never sausage a place! You're always a wiener at Pedro's...
  9. It looks like some of the old signs got makeovers (and of course, being resistant to change, I miss the old ones!). I think Pedro got a facelift, too. He doesn't look the same. And I think some are missing. I didn't see the Caliente! one, although my kids were grateful for that, since I would always shout that one out, and keep repeating it every couple miles. Yeah, I'm a real treat to travel with.
  10. We have a little wire rack of shelves right inside the door where the shoes get stashed. It doesn't take much space at all. The dog's gear goes on the top shelf, too, so it's easy to get to.
  11. I didn't live in Buffalo during my coffee prime. I only started drinking coffee in college, and then it was the swill from the UB student grill. After college I headed south. I can't believe I missed out, after all the rave reviews TH gets!
  12. Also gave the world my dad, and that's even better. Side note: Never tried TH. Can you get it anywhere around, say, NC? Or is it totally, strictly, completely regional?
  13. Love that raft shot! Amazing how much it's changed.
  14. Oof. Hubby took me to lunch today, so what was I thinking opening a thread called "Creme Brulee Gallery"? Now I'm even more stuffed, just from looking at the pix! Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever even had it. Am I missing out?
  15. I'd never have thought to put blueberry and licorice together. But Darth is definitely owning it.
  16. Love the teapot. And I'd say I loved the mugs, but they're always too darn small! Cute designs, though.
  17. Looks like that falls under that "healthy" category, like dark chocolate and red wine. Mmmmm, anti-oxidants!
  18. Yep, Bass Pro Shop is my hubby's happy place, too. Unfortunately, the closest one is over in Charlotte, so it falls into the "vacation destination" category for us.
  19. Here's our super-simple, go-to crock recipe: Toss some frozen chicken breasts in. Pour about 2/3 or so of a bottle of Frank's hot sauce over top. Sprinkle with a packet of dry ranch dressing mix. Set it on low. After about five hours, shred chicken with two forks, mix with sauce, and let it keep cooking (you can add a couple pats of butter if you're not shy about calories). Slop it over rice, on rolls, or eat it straight. (I put it on a roll or wrap in tortilla with some ranch dressing.) The other one we love is a black bean "soup" that we serve, gumbo-style, over rice. I'll have to dig that r
  20. Fun TR -- love the pic of the flowers and Spaceship Earth.
  21. This looks like a wonderful trail. I'm absolutely itching to get back out for some mtn biking (although I feel like I should probably hit the treadmill a bit first to get back in better shape to keep up with my guys). I've been really wanting to try Kathryn Abby Hanna Park for some camping/biking, too.
