  1. Such a fantastic TR so far! Your family is absolutely adorable, and yet again, I'm getting wistful for the kids' younger years. Can't wait to hear more!
  2. Zip ties. My 13yo son and I just fixed hubby's beloved La-z-boy recliner with three super-duty zip ties (La-Z-Boy -- the company, not the hubby -- wanted upwards of $120 for labor charges). The bolt was sheared off, and the screw extractor wasn't working for me, so the zippie ties saved the day! I'm putting some out in the camper for other serious emergencies.
  3. Not from a Disney restaurant, but I thought these were adorable: http://family.go.com/food/recipe-1031041-mickey-and-minnie-peppermint-swirl-cookies-t/
  4. We've been there, too. Super clean bathhouses, place to wash the dogs, really, really fantastic campground. Small but very tidy. The truck about had a coronary pulling the trailer up the mountains, though, lol.
  5. You are just the cutest family! I'm so impressed you did the race. I'm definitely in the "couldn't run if I tried" camp. Blisters or not, I think it's fantastic you did it.
  6. Looks like so much fun! And I'm totally drooling over those sweets at the confectioner's shop -- YUM. Great TR so far! Loving the photos.
  7. Enjoying this so far! Love the grumpy wake-up photos. :)
  8. Such a cute family! Love the ball girl -- so sweet, and she looks so proud. Looks like you had a fabulous trip. Glad you could get away with your busy schedule!
  9. Huh! We were just up in NY this summer, and after my kids have been hearing (over and over and over) about how much better -- WAY WAY better -- bakery products are in NY, they had to admit that I was right. I must have made fifty sandwiches in one week, just so we could have the rolls. I shoulda filled a couple gallons of water from the tap to bring home and use in my bread machine! Wonder what makes it different? Thanks for the info!
  10. Aw! Loving these photos! I'm really not sure Aiden could possibly be one tiny bit cuter. He is ADORABLE!
  11. Curious -- why do they do that? Do you know? Your Epcot experience sounds crazy. You're sweet to take care of your nephew like that, especially at a tough age. (His, not yours...right?) :D What a whirlwind!
  12. My big head? (Actually, I went a little crazy on the s'mores and other camping foods over the summer! Whoops.) Love this picture! Now, those are low-carb, right? I think I need to ditch WW and switch to your plan. We went to the Ripley's in Myrtle Beach, and if it's like that one, I agree -- it was amazing. I loved that shark (lol, just mistyped that as "snark") tunnel. Have you been to the aquarium in Atlanta? Holy wow, that one's incredible, too.
  13. Ah, thanks for the extra info on the carb thing. Hubby is doing WW, and I said I'd do it with him (seems like there's always an extra 5 or 10 that can be lost, right?). So I've been loading up my day with fruit and veggies (not too tough for me; love 'em), but found myself dragging for a good week at least. Throw in a few days of mountain biking and I thought I was going to keel over. But 'nuff about that stuff. Back to this great TR! Glad you saw Yogi, and glad Anna had such a good/non reaction -- wouldn't want her to miss out on any action with Minnie!
  14. Finally catching up on the great TRs I've been missing, and this one's worth coming back for. Great story, great pix! This comment: stopped me in my tracks. HILARIOUS image there! :rofl2:
  15. Been away from FF for a while (sob!), but I had to get my TR fix -- and this one's fantastic! Absolutely love, love this pic: That's a keeper! Curious about the low-carb thing -- doesn't it make you really tired not having carbs at all? Love the TR, Dave. Always love seeing your family together having fun!
  16. This has to be the coolest water slide I've ever seen. Looks like a fun trip!
  17. Loving the action-as-it-happens reporting! Good stuff.
  18. Wheee! So excited for you! What's on the table? Cute! Are they placemats?
  19. I thought a bad day at work at Disney was like a great day...uh...wait. How does that saying go?
  20. I tried when the kids were little and I was teaching them their letters -- they spelled their names with pretzel dough, etc. The pretzels came out AWFUL, though. Hard as bricks! Did you use food-grade lye? I've heard that's a secret to pretzel success. I was on a bagel-making kick for a while, and that was quite a process, too. (Although those came out delicious.)
  21. Kind of a slight thread drift, but this past Christmas one of the family gifts was a big kit to make Auntie Anne's pretzels (like at the mall). We finally got around to making the first batch a couple weeks ago. They were absolutely AMAZING. I think you can get the kit at the mall or BJs or someplace, and they're so much fun to make. Delicious! I didn't think to make a Mickey-shaped one, though.
