  1. With such a small space, the clutter in the camper can drive me batty, too. As far as cleaning, when things start getting crazy, I reassure myself that I can always just do a big cleaning when we get home (and I do). For the floor, we treat it like a tent -- no shoes in the camper (we have a little wire rack right inside the door, and shoes go there immediately). I also keep a little dustpan handy to make sweeping floor tidbits up quickly. The dishes are another story -- since it's usually just me and the kiddos camping, they never take the initiative to clean up the dishes -- just pile them
  2. Jim Henson has always been an idol to me! What a fantastic guy. I have such a vivid picture in my mind of his unique funeral/memorial, too. He definitely is a legend!
  3. It's so tragic. I heard about it yesterday morning and it stuck with me all day. So sad.
  4. Yikes! Double post fairy struck again...
  5. Fun TR! I have to say you made some very wise purchases at DTD -- yum! Love the Mickey corn holders.
  6. That man's a keeper! My dogs came on our honeymoon with us, so I knew I'd picked the right guy, too. It's funny how they do change your life, though. When I got my beloved first dog, an American Eskie, she was so smart and so energized I started learning about dog training. Then my much-adored tri-color collie came along, and he was so sweet and attentive I started teaching dog obedience. Then came competitive obedience. Then agility with my Eskie. Then therapy work/certification with my collie. When I started writing as a career, the first story I sold was to an animal magazine base
  7. It's so funny that we're all so sad to see good TRs come to an end...it's like the virtual equivalent of getting that little notice stuck under your windshield wiper at the end of a Fort stay. Someone needs to get a photo of one of those, and it can go on the end of every TR, lol.
  8. Do you feel safe? It's usually just me and the kiddos, and what sounds great during daylight, sitting at home, sometimes gives me the heebie jeebies when it's dark and someone -- even the popo -- is knocking at the door! (Obviously, I haven't done it, and probably won't, even though we take plenty of security measures, but in a pinch I can see me considering it.)
  9. Holy smokes, how did I ever miss this TR?!?? Just got to read it cover-to-(almost)cover, and love, love it! Great photos, great stories -- your family is just too darn adorable for words. Thanks so for taking the time to do the TR!
  10. Wowza! Fun stuff! Really enjoying this TR...beautiful scenery and ghost stories, what's not to love? :parrot:
  11. What Debbie said. That's why I don't have my card number on sites like Amazon -- it's just waaay too easy to click "buy" without really thinking. Plus, it kinda seems a bit "Big Brother," which it seems like much of life/technology is heading...
  12. Absolutely breathtaking scenery! ...but bad beetles! That slide looks phenomenal. My guys would LOVE to try that. (Hmm...another reason to add to the "must visit CO" list.)
  13. Fun stuff! I've never been to SW (although I've been thisclose), so loving the TR. But three bucks for a "family dryer"? You can come here to the boards and get all the hot air you want for free...
  14. Gorgeous! My writing buddy moved back to CO a couple years ago, and she's been trying to entice me out there to visit. It looks just beautiful -- looking forward to the rest of your TR!
  15. These are all amazing shots of HM, but this one made me stop and look at it for a while -- love it:
  16. I agree with the blogger -- I want to love cake pops, too, since they're all the craze...but I think they're more eye candy than mouth party. (At least for me.) The author/inventor (?) of cake pops has some Mickey/Minnie and Pooh directions on her site: http://www.bakerella.com/you-asked/ for Mickey/Minnie http://www.bakerella.com/winnie-the-pooh-and-hunny-too/for Pooh They're pretty cute.
  17. Ack! You'd think I'd learn not to "just pop in real quick" to FF before starting work -- I end up spending my precious quiet-early-morning hours reading great TRs like this! Glad I finally got caught up on this, though -- great photos, great story...on the up side, now when I do start working, I'm going to have a big, happy smile stuck to my face. Super, super TR! LOVE G and his little bus, curled in his hand, at the aquarium photo. My own little G used to have a Percy the train (from Thomas) that he clutched like that, too. [Oh, the horror, the day he left it in one of those little car-shape
  18. I'm loving this already -- can't wait to read more!
  19. Congrats! So amazed -- and very, very grateful -- that with the magnitude of the accident, you were all okay. That was one terrifying wreck! Love the shiny new camper! Kate
  20. Very cool. We get the black snakes coming into our garage all the time (fortunately, they always go back out eventually. I think.), and I'm happy to see them around. Not because they get our rattlesnakes (don't have those, happily), but they definitely get the mice. But how did the racer kill the rattler? It seems like in that match-up, the venomous snake would have the upper hand? When we were at the park when the kids were really little, we watched a snake grab up and eat a frog. We've seen the nature documentaries of stuff like that, but it was amazing in real life!
