  1. Well ,we are in a new year, time to set a new record, can you beat the three trip year? Yes those crowds are NOT my cup of tea, years gone by maybe, but not now. Stupid old age
  2. OK now I want to go to Dollywood!! That Lightning Rod looks like a blast. Just showed your pic of it to DH he is a no go, wimp, but it looks cool to me. Cinnamon bread and yes I did think you ate it all. Yum for the fried green maters too.
  3. Recovering from foot surgery right now and stuck at home, but on normal weeks I drive I-4 three to four times to Longwood from Lake Buena Vista and back. I've learned to get in the middle lane, seldom need to leave it to pass a slower driver, just go with the flow. Usually have a book on cd running. There have been times the warning signs report accidents ahead, I've gotten off I-4 and done the surface roads. But so many other drivers were doing the same it slowed us all down. Now, even with the warning, I stay on 4 and just be patient. I'm surprised that the Orlando area isn't on t
  4. Good job on the comp tickets! Free is almost always good. I was always under the impression that day of tickets would be much more. This is good info to have, thanks.
  5. I agree, they came out very clear. I wish I had more stamina to be able to keep up with you two.
  6. And I have finally gotten to your trip report, it's wonderful. Good friends and great photos. Thank you Gwen.
  7. I think the Orlando one is at an outdoor stadium this year. Jimmy puts on a good show but so expensive. I'm happy I got to see a couple of them before being priced out, of course the seats were in the nose bleed section. The 'fans' in the row in front of us were drunk and a couple behind us were enjoying a few joints. Just another JB concert
  8. On another note, one day in Epcot I saw a group of helper animals being trained. They were standing around the jumping water near the bridge to the worlds. 5-6 dogs in their training vests, each with a human teaching the dog. All of a sudden over on the left side I saw the last helper in line, a small pony. Still wonder what he/she was being trained to do for a human.
  9. I feel so sorry and worry about some of the dogs I've seen in the parks on days in the mid to high 90s. Poor animals, it looks like abuse to me. People can be so selfish and stupid.
  10. Gwen, what a good friend you have. You really needed a fort trip!
  11. That looks like so much fun! I want to sled too. Great info you are providing, thanks.
  12. In late but enjoying your TR. Bugs Life is fun but noisy and can be scary for sensitive people, young and old. It's fun for me to take a newbie and watch them enjoy the experience. I sit in the back so i can see the reactions of folks in front of me. Have not been to AK to see the new stuff, but it is one of my favorite parks, mainly because of the Safari ride and those beautiful tigers! Do you remember the days when perfect strangers would give their fast passes away because they weren't going to use them? Guess from your experience that can't happen these days. BTW can y
  13. Thanks for sharing your trips with us Dave. Your description of the eclipse was very vivid, no photos needed. Good plan for Anna during eclipse. Heading to Texas for the next total eclipse, probably won't need to worry about snow
  14. I love your spaceship photos, especially those close in ones. That lion was sure looking regal for you that day.
  15. I like Jimmy B but not at those prices. Even his concerts have been priced out of my league. Good thing the CDs are affordable.
  16. The Sam's in the Longwood-Altamonte area was closed when my friend went to buy supplies for the day school she manages. The sign also told of reopening but then final closing is soon after.
  17. Aren't the wildwomenz camping in April? That's as good an excuse as any.
  18. Sure is an ouchie. And of course it hits everything, even with the bandage it hurts. But getting better, just not fast enough for him.
  19. Had to make use of the Centra Care last night. My husband managed to almost slice the meaty part of his left pointer finger off, another quarter inch and there wouldn't have been a flap to sew back. It took 5 stiches and the doctor was very good, hurt him like hell but it will be mended soon. They are very good there, when we can't get to our family doc we head over to Centra Care.
