  1. So on with the story! Mama and Edward are about an hour ahead of us by now, but there was no use trying to catch up because I am super paranoid about hydro-planing so we are moving slow! We are on the Turnpike when Edward calls and tells me that he is there with Donnie and we are in site #1724. This is one of the sites we needed a pic of, but it was never empty while we were there! :rofl2: After going the long way down by the Settlement, Chris and I arrive at the site. Donnie is there with Runner and I'm not sure which was the most talkative! Everything is set-up and ready for us to move in, t
  2. I think I got shots of all the grocery items, but it would be nice to have more prices! Feel free to add to this thread I took these with my phone and was in a hurry, I'm sure y'all could get some better pics!
  3. Haha, poor Lola played that injury for all it was worth! She ain't no dummy! I hope that it will not bore you to tears at least! I bet me and Doodle together could take down about anything! :rofl2: Gotta love them smart phones! It is most awesome! This biscuit is better than even bacon and I love bacon! Crunchy fried steak, creamy gravy on a big, fat, fluffy Buttered Biscuit, It doesn't get much better or conversely worse if you're my doctor! :rofl2:
  4. Ok, y?all I am not real good at the Trip Report thing, but I want to do my part! This is gonna be like all my reports, short & sweet with very few pics! It begins with a shout out to my DB Runner for footing the bill and to Donnie for his rental service! So the day finally arrives that we are leaving for the fort! The plans are to take off between 7 and 8, of course that means Mama and Edward are here at 6:50! I take a quick shower and wake up my grumpy-butt son and we actually pull out a few about 7:45. We end up taking 2 cars because we can?t fit all the food and us in
  5. Thanks, Deb! People look at you kind of odd when you are taking pictures in the freezer compartment, so Chris did not want to be anywhere near his goofy Mama!
  6. I've got 2 more pics that aren't loading for some reason. I would not depend on the store for all my needs, but it is a convenient place to pick up something you forgot! A pack of paper places was $5.95, but we bought them because we weren't going to drive off-site to get them!
  7. On one of the good weather days we took a trip to the Trading Post. I took these pics with my phone, but I wanted to be able to give everyone an idea of what items there are in the store. I am just going to post all of the pics, some are not great!
  8. I just got this as well. or a free night at the Fort! :thewave1:
  9. Let me just mention also, it is quiet there at lunch time! They have the touch-screen ordering system and we were a bit confused at first. You place your order on the touch-screen then move to the cashier. They will give you a number and they call the number when it is done. My sandwich was hot off the grill, not mass-prepared.
  10. I just have to hijack this thread to say, I missed this thread while I was gone!
  11. Caffeine Free Diet Coke, Coffee with french vanilla creamer. I usually drink beer if I'm gonna be drinking much, otherwise I will be joining Stefa70 in the "grab-ass" game! I love Kahlua, vodka and skim milk. I try to keep a bucket of margaritas in the freezer (mixed with rum, tequila gives me heartburn and strawberries) for my Mama or just whenever. We took a small bucket with us to the Fort and it fit perfectly in the camper freezer!
  12. Donnie actually made everyone sound like part of his family! After talking to him, I really felt proud to be a part of the group! I won't mention if he made some of them sound like the red-headed step kids! :rofl2:
  13. Only good things!! He was talking about the Empire that FortFiends.net is gonna be and how great y'all are for doing this! Stefa70 better be watching her back, er I mean her JJ cornhole game though! :)
  14. I'm going to start this and I'm sure that my brother, Runner, will chime in. We rented a 5th wheel from makecampingeasy.com and I have to say it was indeed easy! Donnie is a gem! When we arrived on a rainy Monday, Donnie had the camper all set up in our site. He made sure we understood how everything worked and showed us around the camper. It was well stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, and he even brought a grill. There were camping chairs and lights for the awning too! When he realized that the coffee pot was missing, he went off-site and came back with a brand new one. He came by lat
  15. Christopher and I ate at the Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary for a late lunch yesterday. I had the grilled sandwich with Turkey, apple butter, brie and apple slices. It was huge and is served with fries and it was good! Chris had a HB and thought he was getting a side salad with it, but the salads are huge also.
  16. I loved your trip report and hate that I just missed meeting you, but maybe next time. The Content PoPo is not gonna be as happy with my trip report, very few pictures of the fun stuff. Jordan is a lucky young man to have you in his life!
  17. Congratulations! I love it! I hope you have many happy camping trips in your new hybrid!
  18. I am back home in my chair with Lola in her rightful place in my lap and can't wait to catch up on all that I missed. I piddled around on my droid, but it's just not my laptop! I so enjoyed our trip to the Fort, even with the weather. It was awesome meeting Lou and BuckeyeFortfan. We enjoyed the conversation and hope to meet again! We looped quite a bit taking site pics and looking for FF signs.
  19. We have been looking for fellow fiends, we're in site 1724. Maybe we'll get a chance to see you.
  20. As in maid/housekeeping service? :rofl2: I was also wondering just what kind of great service Donnie gives? Let me put it this way, I still have not had "a nap!"
  21. Looks like you & I lucked out today. Even had to take out the sunglasses. It was gorgeous! I hear we may get to meet you, I am looking forward to it. We're in 1724, Come on by! I have another appointment at 3:30, but other than that we will be around the fort!
