  1. They called me for a new CC today because my old one expired, and when I called back, I had to leave a message. It kind of sounded like it had to be today, so I'm freaking out a little. We're getting the cart Saturday. Should I just relax? Hoping so!
  2. Do you use online check-in at the Fort? Why or why not? Just wondering if there is a real advantage, if I will find out my site when I do, etc.
  3. Not an exact recipe, but this is what I do.... Get a larger chicken and some red potatoes Pat the chicken dry Slice some cloves of garlic, make some holes in the skin, and push under the skin all around the chicken Slice or half the potatoes depending on size, throw some garlic, rosemary, and thyme on then in the crockpot Add a cup of water or chicken broth Put the chicken on the potatoes and season with season salt, rosemary, and thyme Cook on low 8-10 hours Yum!
  4. My little guy has already watched it about a million times, so it's been worth the $5.99 for sure.
  5. Yes, that's her. Click on her link, or email me at (in the interest of your safety, the admins took your email off and ask that you get people to pm you) and I'll send you her email info. We don't want people emailing you with all kinds of viagra ads and such! :) The regular public peeps on the internet can't see what you post in a pm, so you can tell people your email there. We want your address to stay your address!
  6. Thanks so much for that! We love Topsail and will be there the first 2 weeks of June.
  7. Are noodles and/or small child floats allowed in the pool? I don't see mention of that on the rules sign.
  8. Oh, and we'll be there March 31-April 8th, so maybe we'll meet you!
  9. I emailed Judy on the advice of some fiends in chat, but we already had reservations, so I need to plan to use her next time. That said, I know she had (as of last night) a premium site until April 5th because she had someone cancel. I can't remember her screen name, but someone will jump in and say it I'm sure.
  10. Since our son is so young, he can't handle waiting in really, really long lines. Plus, they make DH cranky. I had planned to collect FPs to use when we return after our nap break, but now it's not possible. We'll stroll around and hit the minor attractions, but I could also see us being content to come back early and hang around the Fort since we won't have an "must dos" to look forward to in the evening.
  11. It could mean that we spend less time in the parks than we originally planned. We're going during a peak time. We plan to hit rope drop and tour until naptime for DS. I know we'll still go back, but we might just do some minor attractions and fireworks a few nights.
  12. Oh hell (I can say that right), Dumbo is closed until March 31st now, and we're going to the MK April 1st. Does that mean that everyone and their mom, grandpa, and sister is going to be at the MK that day? We have a ADR at CRT that morning to celebrate DD's 16th birthday, so I can't switch parks.
  13. Does the Fort do an egg hunt? We are leaving that day, but it would be cool to do before.
  14. Yes, I will say that you can trust KOAs. That's great when going somewhere new. It's just that some of my favorite private parks aren't KOAs.
  15. I'm sure this is old news to most of you, especially because it appears to be a DVD of an older Disney sing along, but today I discovered this DVD where the characters camp, explore River Country, and Discovery Island. At $5.99, I I figure it will be great to get my son even more excited about our trip. Plus it will be neat to see places I went as a kid that are no longer there. http://www.amazon.com/Sing-Along-Songs-Campout-Disney/dp/B0009X75XI/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1331173393&sr=8-8
  16. I'm VERY late on this thread, and I'm sure you already realize this, but this is some FUNNY stuff. And my good friend owns a concrete company, and he camps, so he might be able to help out where needed.
  17. Gosh, I can't vote because I'm evenly tied with state park and private non-KOA.
  18. We LOVE Topsail Hill in Santa Rosa Beach, FL (near Destin). It's a state park too, so it's really cheap. In Myrtle Beach, we prefer Myrtle Beach Travel Park. We live near Lake Lanier in GA, and all of the corp run campgrounds around the lake are nice. (just keep your adult beverages in a cup) PS- If any fiends want to camp there, we can take you out on our boat. Another favorite is River Vista in Dillard, GA. It isn't private at all, but they have a nice, big building they let you use, a huge indoor pool/hot tub, and they're really close to Highlands, NC (cool town) and the Dillard House (all
