  1. True. And I know both of us went into it expecting the worst. I guess we were pleasantly surprised when it wasn't as bad as we thought. I think most people were just drinking themselves silly, so I also wouldn't recommend it for some families. It felt a little more geared towards adults.
  2. I disagree, but I didn't have a stroller, so can't factor that in. I was at EP last year for NYE. I thought it wasn't so bad. Definitely crowded, but not much worse than a busy food and wine day. They had extra food stands and lots of drinks stands around. Concerts and other things going on. The wait for Soarin' was about an hour, so again, not much different than a busy day. We got a great spot for fireworks and all. The only thing I will say is that there were very long lines for the restrooms and I'd DEFINITELY take Disney transportation. It took an hour just to get out of the parking lot,
  3. I agree. Stef is being really, really nice. It was definitely the, "I've been drinking punch for 7 straight hours" look on his face.
  4. I'm in. That story about the cooler sounds like a decent explanation for chilling the punch keg-style. Then again, I don't think anyone would notice after a glass or two.
  5. It was great last year. Very reminiscent of CW. Doubt I'll be back again this year, but enjoy!
  6. OK, so yeah... Peter Pan girl is creepy. What I got from that, though, is that Peter is a pro. Props to him for (apparently) handling that situation well.
  7. Glad you're having fun. I rode by quite a few times, but never saw you guys around. Have a great least few days!
  8. Same here. They had that several years ago, but I haven't heard it's back. Then again, I've been out of the loop for over a week now.
  9. I did that yesterday. It was interesting. Very cool effects, for sure, but once was probably enough.
  10. I'm in, but late as usual. Great start... except for the whole laughing so hard I was crying a little part about the Flintstone boxers!
  11. The front desk is no help, trust me. Engineering is. But yes, others are right. The green hose is what they use to wash down the site, but the other connection is for drinking... At least I've used it for coffee and all and never had a problem.
  12. Sorry I didn't find you guys this week. Have a safe trip home. Can wait to read the TR!
  13. I'm pretty sure I saw you guys looping tonight as I was pulling into the 1600 loop in a black Jetta. I was in a hurry so just waved, but the driver looked confused!
  14. Remember that the US is supposed to be 100% digital by 2015 so you'll eventually needs cable box or some sort of converter at home. I know we switched over a year ago in charleston.
  15. Did I make it to page 1? It looks like it. Great start to another TCD trip report. I think that's odd that they would tell you a site was available, give you the number, but someone is still occupying it. Maybe blame it on the new CM?
  16. Gwen - Enjoyed the ride home update. I know that drive all too well, I actually hate the I-4 part of the trip. I-95 doesn't bother me too much since I take exit 32 in SC, then it's a highway the rest of the way to Charleston. That part is terrible at night, Lake Norman is phenomenal, I agree. I have friends who live there and was just up visiting them last weekend. It's hard to believe you're so close to Charlotte.
  17. Thanks for the update. I requested 1700, so I'm feeling better about getting one of those sites!
  18. I was originally supposed to leave today (Sunday), but life/holidays/finances got in the way. Actually, just my friend Justin's job got in the way. So, to make up for it, we're staying an extra day or so now (we've changed the dates so many times, I can't remember when I was supposed to actually be there). The best part is, we overlap with you, Mo, some friends we met at the Fort earlier this year and a whole pile of other people.
  19. Hopefully, by them eliminating the analog channels they will be able to add more digital channels due to multiplexing. The newest additions were good, but I can get HBO in a flea bag 192 motel... I'd like it at the Fort, too for those rainy days.
  20. Great report, Gwen! I really enjoyed all the photos. Sounds like you both had a great trip and that you have the same "departure depression" as I do.
