  1. FWC is taking over management of Teneroc shooting range. They have chosen not to renew the lease with the operators that have been there for the last 13 years. I guess they think they can do a better job I don't know what FWC plans to do about the people that have memberships. Maybe this is good and maybe not. We'll just have to wait and see. I've been out there a couple of times in the last two months, and the place is getting a bit rundown. Huge potholes in the driveway to the ranges, the sign-in shack is pretty dirty, and the target stands aren't in the best shape. This could be a result
  2. Are you implying Lou has someones forearm in his backside? :rofl3:
  3. Genia - If it's any consolation, you have attended an historical NASCAR event. This is the first time in the 500's history it has been postponed. Hope you keep all your literature and ticket stubs. Could be Ebay in your future. Wish you safe travels home.
  4. Anastasia State Park is a nice park depending on how big your RV is. Most of the sites are on the small side and can be a challenge getting into. The beach is nice though.
  5. In my snarkiest tone : I've been on this earth long enough that I don't give a rat's posterior what other people think about what I like or don't like. They can do as they wish and so will I.
  6. Try these. It looks like the closest place will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 miles from the fort. http://www.yellowpages.com/kissimmee-fl/live-bait
  7. Hate to poliitely disagree, but that isn't a Tapir. That animal is a Babirusa which is native to Indonesia. See the upward curling tusks? Tapirs don't have tusks. Interesting fact about them, if the tusks are not broken nor worn down, they will continue to grow and eventually pierce the animal's skull. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=indonesian%20pig%20like%20animals&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCYQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FNorth_Sulawesi_babirusa&ei=vHssT4bPDoKFtgf8xfn3Dw&usg=AFQjCNEIVEIutFoVXqdynzL4vUESqQAIaQ
  8. I did a trip report on this park last year. Take a look. http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/3483-jetty-park-trip/
  9. I actually saw that happen in downtown Lakeland some years ago. While stopped at a red light, I saw a lady cross the street in front of me, pull her shorts to the side and did her business right there. Unbelievable. :faceplant2: Just be safe and watch where you step.
  10. Since you'll be at the fort, Jetty Park at Port Canaveral is only about an hour to the east. While it's not a five star campground, they are currently making improvements. You have the beach a short walk from your campsite, a fishing pier, a very nice pavilion with snack bar, and depending on which days you'll be there, you can watch the cruise ships leave port. You can access the campground site from the main Port Canaveral website. Reservations can be made 45 days in advance and they don't charge your card until you get there. I'll be there sometime in May myself.
  11. I camped in a popup for many years and enjoyed every minute of it. This even included setting up in a Florida thunderstorm several times. I'm happy for you and wish you many years of joyful camping.
  12. What campground do you recommend near the river for a big rig? I've been there, but not to camp.
  13. After cleaning, find the leak that caused this mess. I would bet water has come in somewhere. Also check the floor area and make sure it isn't soft. Start on the roof looking for bad caulk, and work your way down. Pay particular attention to the window seals and slide seals. I wish you the best of luck. Water damage is a PITA.
  14. Thanks to Lisa and Monique for correcting me. I had never thought much about it, because I've always had a a license, and hadn't considered Bay Lake as a private lake. They are correct. Kudos to a couple of yankee girls knowing more about this than a native. :rofl3:
  15. I always keep a pretty complete set of tools in my coach. Pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, socket set, tools for electrical and plumbing, air compressor with air chuck, tape, etc... They have come in handy several times over the years for me and other campers.,
  16. Norm, it is wonderful that you are building life long memories with your beautiful girls at their young ages. I am really enjoying your TR. I can appreciate how difficult they can be, too. Thanks for sharing with us.
  17. If memory serves me, anyone over 16 is required to have a Florida fishing license. Hopefully someone with a better memory will either confirm or correct this.
  18. Could you post the link as a link? I can't get my stupid (smart) phone to accept it when I type it in. Thanks.
  19. Savannah is one of my favorite cities. Every couple of years, we spend a week at Ft. McAllister with my sister and BIL. Great times. If you haven't, try Love's Seafood on the way to Richmond Hill. Great seafood, family atmosphere, and right on the Ogeechee river. Thanks for the TR. Makes me want to be there also.
  20. Liv - Download Irfanview and install it. It makes resizing pics super easy. It's free also. I've used it for years. Really enjoying the TR also. Looks like much fun was had by all.
  21. You might also look into the Lazydays campground. It's just east of the fairgrounds. They may already be booked during the show, but you might give them a call. While you're there, you can look at their inventory too.
