  1. In my opinion, 12 should be old enough to be cautious and to also protect the 6 year old. However, this is entirely dependent on where I'm camping. If the Fort was crowded, I would probably walk them over and back. If not so crowded, then perhaps not.
  2. Shame on all of you. Breaking the Fort noise rules and doing it with signs posted identifying you as Fiends. You are all now in "Time Out". C:-) :siren: :popo:
  3. Thanks for the info We3Peas. That's just what I was looking for. Experienced info. Can't beat that. Looks like an early spring trip for me. :)
  4. This is one state park I haven't been to yet but am interested in camping there. How much trouble, ie..low limbs, narrow roads, sharp turns, etc... would it be to get a 35 ft. motorhome in to the campground?
  5. I'm sure WDW put the third pole in for safety reasons. Could you imagine crowds of people walking the "walkway" looking at the decorations and having to dodge golf carts? Maybe the golf cart drivers should look for the "cartways". I'm sure many here won't agree with this, but foot traffic should be safe too. The last time I was at the fort, I had to watch out for golf carts on most all of the "walkways". The drivers assumed the path was built just for them. Maybe you should have to take a test to drive a cart in the fort.
  6. Every time I see Anna, I can't help but think what a wonderful life you've given her. I can only imagine what would have been in store for her if you hadn't made her a part of your family. She is being exposed to things now that she probably could have never dreamed of in her home country. Good on you, Dave. :bravo: Thanks for sharing this with us.
  7. Enjoyed the TR. Scary about the stove incident. Glad it all worked out. Funny, I think all of us have been "That Guy" at some point. Upside is that you are all safe and have another trip planned. As for the tetherball in the shoe tree, that is very odd indeed. I'm thinking some of the ghosts from HM decided to have some fun.:)
  8. The gloves are to keep the greasy fingerprints off the mirrors I betcha. I'd hate to have to clean a house full of mirrors after a few hundred people traipsed through it in a day. Lovely pics Yvonne. Thanks for a great TR. Looks like a good time for the whole family.
  9. Look at the smiles on the two youngest. They are identical. How cool. What a beautiful bunch of kids. Glad you're having a good time and hope the rest of your vacation is even better.
  10. I think it makes good business sense to implement this. I find it offensive that people make numerous reservations and then don't show up. This makes it hard or impossible for someone else to make one. Maybe now the ones that do this will think twice about it.
  11. You realize I'm just having a little North/South "word" fun don't you? Similar to the "Coke, Pop, Soda" discussion a while back. :rofl2: I don't care what they are called, if you get them (or they get you) it's miserable.
  12. You don't think I'm going to take the U of F dopey professors word on this do you? Most of them are probably transplants from the North anyway. :rofl3:
  13. Come On People!!! Chiggers live north of the Mason Dixon Line. Red Bugs live south. Cinderella - What your son had is definitely not Red Bugs. Benadryl wouldn't make the whelts go away. The only way to relieve the itching is to get rid of the bug. Many folk remedies for that. Take your pic. There are varying schools of thought on using clear fingernail polish but that is what I've used pretty much my entire life and it seems to work. Also, Ed, I've never had the blisters you posted, but I've certainly had Red Bugs. Not fun. The blisters would be bad. I would think they would be caused by
  14. I guess a trip to Wally World is in order. Those would come in real handy at the beach and would also be easy to store and transport. Thanks for the info.
  15. Didn't I just tell you we don't have Chiggers? Pay attention girl. :clint:
  16. Florida doesn't have "chiggers". Down heah weuns have "Redbugs". You can also get them by simply sitting on a log, bench, ground, or just about anywhere outside.
  17. Nice pics and glad you had a great time. In one of the pics, I spy duct tape and beer. Someone's going to party hard aren't they? :rofl3:
  18. Good idea. Looks like they've got a good base to work from but I'd like to see some of the lines softened and the roof arched a bit for water runoff. Should solve the dreaded "delamination" problem though.
  19. Glad you're having a great time TJ. Wish I could be there too since I went 40 years ago when WDW opened. Keep all the goodies they give you. In another 40 years, they'll be worth some bucks. Also, I really like your new to you RV. Those classics are great and generally better built than the ones today. Enjoy!!!! :D
  20. Steak is probably the most abused food we have. It is also disgusting to see someone put ketchup on a good steak. Heresy I say.
  21. Glad to get this in before tomorrow - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TCD. :bday: Turning 50 is just a number. And as you said, it beats the alternative.
  22. Beautiful pics. Looks like all had a good time too. Nothing like roughing it with bears around and having the protection of a tent.:rofl2: Is it the camera angle, or did this bridge get damaged in the floods also? Looks a bit cattywampus.
