  1. Just close your eyes when you ride it, then nothing is spoiled. A little ugly in there isn't it?
  2. Oops yes that is what I meant. Here are a couple more shots of SM lit up from that same day. Not the best quality, but it was cool that he saw that.
  3. OK I won't. But that is what it is. SM was shut down and my husband got this photo from that boring carousel of progress ride.
  4. We were only there the 17th-20th. Just a quick stay to see the holiday decorations. Which loop is she usually on? Is she the one on the corner of 1600 with the walk-through display?
  5. You are correct, TCD! It is SM. OK here is another one, probably way easy but it's a rare photo. Sorry it's a little blurry.
  6. I imagIne everyone at the Fort last Dec. saw it! Holy smokes, that thing was big! Thanks, that hat did a nice job keeping me warm.
  7. I look forward to reading what fiends recommend for awnings, too. I am with you on the smell and mildew. Hate it! Love the POV photos! It really feels like I am the one sitting on the porch. But man, I really need to shave my legs! FP4
  8. Fantastic Epcot Photos!! What is rice cream? Is it another name for rice pudding? I almost always visit that margarita hut too when we go to Epcot.
  9. I would hope not! Not sure Nancy would like that too much. Did Frank invite you?
  10. No! It just won't be the same without hearing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TU_Q3Rn1IKY
  11. Not that I saw, and I grew up there and only ever saw canoes out there. This is the Unadilla River, which is a tangent of the Susquehanna. Some friends and I used to raft on the Susquehanna depending on how high the water was.
  12. This is a RIOT!!! Is it still planking if you're in bed? I think the elevator bit would have been even better if she'd "elfed" the buttons (a la Buddy in the movie Elf). I love how Anna just gets into planking position like it's nothing. I guess she's had pretty good training.
  13. I am even envious of his "left at one, got there at two" comment, and I'm only 2.5 hours away! I thought the same thing when I saw it. Do I want to look at this one? he he. Now that song is in my head. Stef must be catchin some zzzzzz's.
  14. Wow, you're good! That is indeed where we keep it. "Big Boys Toy Storage". Gotta love that name. We went to Jekyll Island Labor Day weekend, and when my husband took it back over there, a new renter had taken the spot behind us that had been empty for a couple of years. Problem is, the ding dong pulled his TT in with the tongue facing our spot. So we had to park off to the side in order to not block him. Hope that's not your buddy! I don't know how familiar you are with the place, but the owner lives in our neighborhood. He's not doing so well, in the hospital right now undergoing inten
  15. And this will be the wrap-up. The dreaded last day. When you have to take that last sad, wistful spin around the Fort, trying to absorb it all in hopes of bringing some of it back home with you. As I said, we had to get going. Early. My husband was actually going in to work later (this was Monday morning). Even with our prep work the night before, we still didn't get completely cleaned up and hooked up to go until about 8:30. He went on ahead, and the boys and I stayed behind to hang out a little bit. We went around the big circle in the car one last time. Saw this work going on outside
  16. The time sounds about right, I would double check with the front desk while you're there, or buildabettermousetrip dot com, or all ears dot net. We've watched from many angles. My favorite was when we were on the wagon ride and were way off to the side on that path behind 100/200. I think you can smoke on the beach, but am not positive.
  17. Awesome job! Pleats are a pain, you have my utmost respect there! Pattern sizes are dramatically different. But the good thing is, if you're not a cookie cutter size you can custom fit your clothes.
  18. These photos are just breathtaking. What a fantastic experience for you and your son! I'm guessing there weren't a lot of moms along for this trip…I have 2 scouts, and have yet to go on anything primitive. If they're close enough I will visit for the day but that's it! My older son got to attend Scout camp at Raven Knob in NC last year, and Ockanickon in PA this past summer. Since we live in FL, I am so happy he gets those opportunities to see places that are more than 200 feet above sea level and do some real hiking like I did growing up in NY state. FP4
  19. hahaha yea, I think at first it seemed like a good idea, but definitely one of those "I'm not 25 any more" lessons!! I think I have heard that some other fiends may or may not have done this at the World Showcase in Epcot…….that would be fun too!
  20. Gwen, you are welcome to borrow my DL if you want to! TCD is right. The rates are great, and even better if you can travel on only a few weeks' notice. You really never know what people's circumstances are. If we could swing it, I'd be all over this. But for now I will live vicariously through your TR. Our local schools don't seem to care, though I think some of the boys' teachers would fuss, administrators only discourage planning trips during standardized testing. The middle school has a block schedule so missing one calendar day is like missing 2 of whatever class is that day, and s
  21. After lunch, we headed over to the marina on our bikes to catch a resort boat. This is where we begin the swimming around the world portion of our trip. If you are anti-pool-hopping, just skip over this update. We got a boat in no time. Clouds were looming above, but we had checked the radar and the weather wasn't supposed to be as bad as the day before so we carried on with our plans. Being our last day, what did we have to lose anyway? A lot of birds were out when we passed the shoe tree area! That is more than enough boat ride photos. After the WL stop, we made it to our fi
  22. They were good. That was even cheddar sliced right from the block, not that plastic wrapped American cheese "food". Who cooks like that while camping? I know, I'm strange. But I like to cook, and I like to eat even more. Your story reminds me of my special trips to Friendly's with my mom growing up. Except my menu choice was always a grilled cheese and chocolate milk!
