  1. Don't feel bad, Betsy…I just finished reading this yesterday! I had glanced at it when it was "Hot" a few times last spring, then it slipped off the radar for a while, and I didn't get on FF most of the summer.I went to look something up on one of TCD's old reports, this one popped back up as a "most read" and it reminded me that I needed to read it. I'm so glad I did. I wanted to reach through the screen and hug Anna myself! I hope to one day have the privilege of meeting that sweet little girl. FP4
  2. OOH I love those banners too. And I want one of those T's!!! Looks like a beauty of a day there! Should be some breeze to make it even nicer, no? I need more info on this photo bucket app……. FP4
  3. I know - they hurt like hell when you step on them! My boys are lucky, I suck them up all the time too, but since I have a bagless, I just dump the canister out onto a piece of newspaper and we find them, then toss the dirt. I'm also hoping the diamond earring I lost will turn up one day. It's been over a year, I think maybe I should give up…..I really got a kick out of those pictures when I found them! Wish I had taken more of the fort. Yeah! That's what we'll call it! (though I think it has a little more to do with my adult ADD) No WAY!!! I honestly didn't think it moved any more - t
  4. I am going to interrupt this TR (hijack, sidetrack..whatever you want to call it). I was organizing the next set of photos to do an update. On one of our looping outings, I had taken a bunch of shots of a site in the 1500 loop that I thought was the first site we ever stayed in back in 2006. I dug those prints out (didn't have a digital camera then) to compare. I was off by a site or 2. However, in the process, I found some very cute prints of some of the very same things we took pictures of on this trip, and thought it would be fun to compare. Some are similar, some are just extra fun st
  5. How about that! I figured someone had to recognize these folks! And not in a good way, like Feisty or the Santa guy. That is a lot of wind chimes. I'm glad we weren't closer, I bet they really rattle when the wind blows. I remember the thread, and can recall seeing that Halloween site myself on past fall trips. But weren't they tent campers? Did they upgrade to a TT? Sorry I made you back-track. But it was kind of cool to notice all of those details that I didn't when I physically sat in front of their site for 5 minutes taking it all in one day when the Git R Done-mobile wasn't there.
  6. After we got back from DTD, we had dinner at our site and waited for Dad to come back and join us for the weekend. He arrived just in time to go over to the beach and watch the fireworks. The next morning, we went down to the Bike Barn to do something the boys have been asking to do every time we come to the Fort - rent a canoe. The time is finally here! Previously, we either didn't have time, or it was too hot, rainy, etc. This morning worked out to be ideal. A storm did start to roll in toward the end of their time, but they still got a good paddle in and had a great time. And no t
  7. My husband has one too, and I can't imagine bringing it along to a park, either. Also, it's not supposed to be out in the heat for too long so if you're there all day, that could be a bad idea.I get why people like to use them for everything (love ours!), but the camera thing can be a problem because of their size. We had some parents in front of us once at a school play using their iPad to video it. All of my pictures have that stupid iPad in them, and my husband and I had to lean to be able to see the kids around it!
  8. Great update! I, too have photos of that site in 1800. They'd been there for a while. Did you see the full-size fridge on the patio? That site made me think of the thread on FF about site decorations, and what is tasteful, what is too much, or what is too junky. This one definitely fell into the latter category! Those stinking cranes. No. Me. Gusta. Thanks, IM's. I would love to meet Bolt! Love him! (probably more because Travolta does his voice than anything) I need to scroll back through this TR and make note of that post about where to find these rare character opportunities. You
  9. Thank you! That's a good point. I'm quite sure we didn't do that, so I will stick to "pool hopping", which I have since learned is the proper FF terminology. Though I am not fond of that, it has a certain negative tone. The Caddyshack reference was mostly in the sense that we were sort of the riffraff infringing on the elite's space. Doody!!!!! Amazing all the little things we notice. Bring back the musket already!
  10. Thanks. And, yes! Of course you'd know that one. I want to say they have one on the bike barn, too? Wish they sold those decals inside!
  11. It always is! Even the Lego store wasn't so bad. (shh…don't tell them I said that!)
  12. I love your report! It almost makes me want to plan a tent trip. Almost. We still do it, but mostly in the winter months as a family, then my son who is a Scout has to tent so no choice there. Though I pretty much let my husband go on those. Very interesting to hear how chilly you were! Wow did you luck out there. So many of my friends squint their nose when they ask me, "you camp?" What they don't know is, I "glamp". With the a/c and all the comforts of home! But, at the fort even sleeping in a tent isn't exactly roughing it with those awesome comfort stations! Though we've only trie
  13. :rofl2:Holy hijack, Batman! You people are crude, twisted, and frankly, a little juvenile. I LOVE it!!!!
  14. We got back from our illegal swim and stopped at TE for a GAG. Sorry, no pics. Ate it outside on the picnic tables next to the cart parking area. The boys played with the hula hoops and horseshoes while we waited. Even though we never eat there, they still love to run around over there and just be there in general. I believe they also hit the arcade during our time over there. Sorry, no pics of our food. But it was goooood! Love the cornbread. And, I can say that left-over GAG chicken pulled from the bone, cut up and tossed on a salad is yummy too! The rest of the night was probably
  15. Sorry. Couldn't take it any more! Only one time in 10 days, not too bad. The rest of the time we did the cabin pool or hit the Meadow late-night.Don't get too excited, there are no photos of the GAG. Still getting my TR feet wet. Darn right!Kind of. In my most humble opinion, the Fort pool simply isn't big enough for the paying guests, let alone the FL's. But I do agree that the locals shouldn't have such easy access. I did feel a little odd doing it. And like I said, if their pool was packed, we wouldn't have stayed. Thanks for the compliment! I am learning!
  16. Holy cow, I am dying now!!!Thank for that much needed laugh! And sorry for jacking your report for a while. I promise to behave and pay attention from here on out. As long as no one brings up the-planet-that-begins-with-U, or doody again. FP4
  17. On to Thursday - our 6th day already! Today would be our Caddyshack day. I stuffed some towels, snacks and drinks into a beach bag, went down to the marina and waited for the next resort boat. We were on our way in no time! The obligatory, sad RC shot: That's right, we were headed for the WL to crash their pool, caddy-style. Yes, I have been very vocal about how the freeloaders and overcrowding at the Meadow pool upsets me. And I realize that I am no better by going to another resort's pool and doing the same thing. However, I reasoned it this way: 1. It was spring break, and th
  18. I'll try to find it - it's within the WDW site itself. I think someone might have referenced it in TCD's current trip report "Hot Fun in the Summertime". Those fires and corny songs never get old. And, it gives me someplace to stand when I forget to put bug spray on. Oh my gosh, it sure does look like fur!
  19. OK y'all, third grade called. They want their Uranus joke back. Kidding……always gets a laugh in our house too. You should see the reaction I get when we're getting ready to play tennis and I ask who's bringing the balls. FP4
  20. Caught up! Phew! Once again, I am seeing some of the same stuff I took photos of on those days. Funny how we all notice the same things! My oldest son noticed the lit up cranes one night, too. He's 12, and noticed them - so just imagine how noticeable a gigantic, lit-up resort will be. But, I'm also seeing loads of beautiful pictures of things I wouldn't notice, since I don't get up before the sun or go walking behind loops! Loved the comment about the height of the light post. And, I agree that it should remain like it is now. I like it! As for the BassMaster's abbreviation, my vote is
  21. We can't call him BM for short. Gotta come up with something else. Did he reference Aqualung or that Jungle song? oops. I just showed my age, didn't I. FP4
  22. Sorry my updates are kinda short. Trying to squeeze them in between chores. We went out of town again over the weekend then school started back today so it's been busy, and then there's the unending laundry! I think I remember where we left off…..kinda, sorta….the pictures are jogging the memory. After we got back from the pirate excursion, GF lobby tour and monorail ride, we had lunch and chilled out. Hopped on our trusty Kenny cart and went for a cruise. Saw these guys, who were out and about every day of our stay: Later on, we had dinner and I made it a no-game, no-TV night. I kno
  23. nekked……is that in the urban dictionary? What a riot. I love it!
  24. Oh, and btw: before the ugly hotel photos, I loved the last update! And, I am: 1. pro-pin-trading 2. pro-Dumbo ride 3. pro-waiting for a sober boat captain FP4
