  1. I'm betting it won't be the first time I quote you! Can't come up with stuff that funny on my own!The sad thing is, it wasn't us who got out of hand with the jarts, it was our Dads! After one too many Gennys! Sidenote: autocorrect doesn't like the word jarts! Keeps trying to make it jars. Where is that urban dictionary when you need it? And why doesn't autocorrect work for everyone? Because sometimes, it should!
  2. That B&W RC photo is actually pretty fitting. Kinda sums up how sad it looks now. Fort-thirty. Freakin' hilarious! And that Casio bit. And the Frasier reference. You're killin' me, dude. I might just have to dig out a big hair photo to rival that mullet one. And finally - don't be hatin' on the Genny! Brewed in good ole' Utica, NY - just about an hour north of where I grew up! That was my Dad's lawn-mowing beer of choice, and I too stole many a sip! Now, the cream ale - ick. I remember in college those were referred to as "Genny screamers". And not because of how they made you ta
  3. We ate dinner while we were out - kids had CFA, and I needed to pick up milk so we stopped at Publix where Mom got a sub. For you non-FL peeps, if you're ever visiting and want a really good sub, Publix is 10x better than subway, and sooo fresh! When we got back to the fort, we went over for an evening swim at the Meadow pool. By then, it wasn't too crowded at all.
  4. Thanks! It was fun. I can see that happening! Those things were like weapons! Thanks! Yeah, there are a lot of things from my childhood that I sometimes wonder how I survived without major injury!
  5. Tuesday, we slept in, hung around the site and looped. The boys shot some hoops for a long time - another plus for the 1200/1300 that I need to remember for future visits. Unfortunately, some kid stole one of their basketballs. They had each brought one, and let another kid use one of them while they were over there, sharing the second one. Next thing they knew the kid was gone, along with their ball. Geesh. After lunch, we headed off property to play putt putt. Wound up at Pirate's Cove on 192, near Old Town. It was a great little course - we've played many - and the boys gave it 2 thu
  6. On to Monday, and it's just the boys and I. From my pictures, it appears that we went for a morning cart ride and ended up out at the beach, where the boys played tetherball and I enjoyed my cup 'o joe on the deck. Which I do almost every time we are at the fort. I do remember that most of the rest of the morning was spent at our site. I had wanted to rearrange some of the storage bins and cabinets and do some other cleaning jobs in the TT. I know, it seems a shame to waste a day of vacation doing work, but I am one of those people who cannot sit still. And, because we live in a giganti
  7. Thanks for putting that song in my head! NOT! Beer on the bus? Have you ever heard of solo cups dude? Those refillable WDW mugs do a nice job, too! My boys can't wait to see WIR. I'm looking forward to it too, Jane Lynch is one of the voices and I love her! FP4
  8. I know what you mean. I think I was able to keep it a secret for a long time, but my husband loves it as much as they do and almost always caves. I think it's one of the biggest wastes of money there is, but it does buy a few minutes of time to think and at least you know where they are!
  9. Thanks! Funny how so many are things we've all seen a hundred times, but never tire of looking at more! There were less when we were there last week. Does Disney remove them from time to time, or is the bottom of BL full of old sneakers? Perhaps that's what caused the problem with that water that closed RC? I'll try to keep it up. This is kind of my tutorial for doing my most recent trip. Although, now that I've looked, I think some of these pictures are actually better! It was! We're at the fort, how could it not be? OK! Coming up! Why thank you. A true compliment, coming from the mas
  10. Sunday morning, April Fool's Day! This would be my husband's last day with us until he returned the following weekend. We are all baseball fans, but it happens to be Mom's favorite sport. Luckily, it was the last week of spring training, and one of my favorite teams was in town to play the Braves at WWS. My husband went over on Saturday to pick up some tickets, and off we went to the game Sunday afternoon. It was one of the hottest April days I can remember in a long time, and I've been in FL for 20 years. And sat through pre-season football, in the nosebleeds, in August. It was that ba
  11. Already, I am back-tracking. See what I mean? Stumbling on my first TR! But, it's just one photo, so hopefully it won't happen again..much. Forgot to plug this one in of my solo drive in the day before. Some pictures are from my phone, some from the camera, and they didn't upload in order. It's a shot seen by all of us so many times, but I feel it's kind of obligatory to share mine: Back to Saturday. The boys had just returned from their boat ride, and from the photos, it looks like they then headed over to visit the ponies and play in the arcade. I was still wandering around Wally-wor
  12. You've heard the saying, "Hard work pays off later. Procrastination pays off right now!"? Well, I am the queen of procrastination, and am finally doing a TR from our spring break at the fort in April. So, you could look at it as "paying off", if you enjoy reading TR's like I do. And I have enjoyed so many of yours, so thought I should contribute, as well. But be warned. This will not include the wit or foreshadowing that all you seasoned pros possess. This is my very first TR, and remember, I'm lazy. I don't think to take photos of things that others do, and it was 4 months ago so I don'
  13. Or you can do what I did and run them down in your Kenny cart that goes 30 mph - in the dark to make it even creepier! I had to eat those very words myself. Especially, since it was just my kids and I at the fort. I basically told them that it was OK for me (an adult) to meet someone in person that I had met online, but only in a very public place like WDW, never in a situation where I'd be alone. That they (kids) were never to divulge their identity or whereabouts to anyone, ever. Because they did point out that these people were basically strangers.I have my boys so afraid of strangers t
  14. Up until the pic of your poor wife's knee, I was cracking up! Can so relate to crashing the other resort pool (and paying via the bar), the lopsided bike riding with a bag, and toting my own water to save the 3 bucks a pop WDW charges. I even go so far as to bring those little powder pack mixes as well, so we can refill and not have to taste the yucky warm tap water! So sorry that happened to her! I know it probably still hurts - I injured mine last spring, and had a lingering ache/bruised area for a while. And, for what it's worth, I'm still confused by the sign.
  15. Nice! Thanks for sharing. TN is on our list of places to go. Looks beautiful there! Bathrooms are VERY important to me too, so I am very appreciative of your review.
  16. Excellent. I'm sure it makes the show much more enjoyable for the parents:)
  17. I hope they don't shut it down - we've never been. Just haven't had the chance or the desire, but now that I hear it might be going buh-bye, I might have to do it! And just to make sure I stay on topic, do they serve beer at the HDDR? Or can you bring your own, like at the pool? hahaha That would be a plus!
  18. We almost stopped at the Canaveral Seashore today on our way home from the fort so my boys could get their National Park Passports stamped there. Decided to wait and see if we can catch the Atlas rocket launch next week instead (secretly hoping it gets scrubbed and moved to the weekend so we can go)! Living here, my kids have been on school field trips to KSC, but the coolest thing was once for a Cub Scout trip. It was called the overnight adventure, and they spent the night - in sleeping bags, underneath that Apollo rocket! Also got to do a meet and greet with an astronaut. Just an amazin
  19. This picture is a riot. I laughed so hard. You seem so convinced that your wee little crab is going to somehow overcome that gargantuan one! I think you've watched one too many Disney movies! I would also like to know what the t-shirt means?
  20. WOW. And that is an understatement. Breathtaking photos. Peaceful - I can almost hear the sea. Thank you so much for another fantastic TR. And you're not even done yet! I did check on rates for DCL in the next 60 days, they seem to be pretty much the same as for trips further out. Maybe next year. Good thing you're done having children, after being so close to that radar thingy, could have caused some problems.
  21. True. And I wouldn't do it anyway, that certainly would be sending a very bad message to my kids about rules!Seriously though I have a friend from high school who is a CM at one of the value resorts. I think I can go as her guest. Though I doubt I'll even do that - leaning towards the water parks. Carol, if autocorrect didn't cause the typo I'm sure it was because you didn't have your glasses on……right? Honestly, when I first read it I thought it was that "snarky" everyone's always referring to and didn't think much of it!
  22. I am loving this TR!! We went to PA Amish country 2 summers ago. When my youngest spotted the 2nd or 3rd buggy, he said "hey those are the people we saw when we stopped to go to the bathroom!". No, son - they all look the same! Same carts, same clothing. It was cute. There is a bar of Fels Naptha in the photo above. It is still sold in stores, I use it to get red clay out of white baseball pants! FP4
  23. I too love the bus roulette idea. Might have to give it a try, even though we usually eat in, we could do it to see where we go grab ice cream. and maybe crash that resort's pool?
  24. Are you kidding me with that thong shot? That was a DUDE??? eeeeewwwww!!! please tell me your daughter wasn't the one who took that! The poor girl. That photo belongs in the section of ff where people put shots of folks wearing and doing peculiar things at WDW (like wearing stilettos in the parks, head to toe leather…….check it out if you haven't it's a riot!)
