  1. Yeah, they're not the sexiest swimsuits, but it beats worrying about it and gets you in the pool instead of sitting on the side sweating your cottage cheese off! Us too! So many fun things to do. Thanks. Sadly, she's probably forgotten all about me, but I get to remember her always. Hi! They look like happy meal toys to me.Thanks! Just start picking your nose. They'll look away. What the Fort?!? Very creepy! Seems to me it was a failed attempt to suck more of our money from our wallets like with pin trading. Thanks! I'll have to figure this out. Even though most everything I've put on
  2. I am with everyone else on how quickly time seems to pass. Except when you're in traffic! Seriously, though. I spend as much time as I can with my kids. Because in no time, they won't have time to hang with us, and then off to college. Loved the picture of Louie. I love the nephews! I wonder if we all went over to the Fort and formed a human chain on the day they are to begin excavating for the new DVC, it would hold things up? Yeah, I know. Pipe dream. It would fall on deaf ears. FP4
  3. I think there's another one in the update I just posted. But, it's another deer. Boring! I know, right? There were CM's who could see what they were doing, too. And I get fussed at for having tires off the pad. Yeah, I've noticed those hair things. It's cool they leave them there. Shame they don't leave other things alone. FP4
  4. Day 3. Feeling much better, but still didn’t sleep well. The kids watched a little Disney channel and we had muffins, croissants and yogurt for breakfast. We got dressed and went looping. Tried to once again capture that gator on the camera, and once again, he was nowhere to be found. That canal is mighty slimy though, so it could have been just beneath the scum hiding. We did come up on some goth-looking teenagers just sitting in a cart way back in the group camping area parking lot. I am honestly not sure if it was a guy and a girl or 2 girls but they didn’t look like they were up to
  5. Hey, you're right. But not as bad as those chicks in TCD's latest cruise TR. Oh, OK. I thought my photos looked different to others, or had links. It probably was around 9:30 though…..we were there when the guards left.
  6. Don't you know who she is?And you didn't get out of her way? What's wrong with you? Ha Ha. Glad you gave her a little scare. Sorry you got the peace sign. Dude? I have you to thank, your cool method of creating a TR is much faster! You can't quit! Where do you think I steal borrow my material?
  7. How did you know what time it was? Are my photos time-stamped once posted? Just curious.
  8. You're killing me!! I'm telling you, it bugs me. Bad. Next time I promise to take hot dog pictures! I do have some of nuggets, will that do? Sure! Chipping away at it. I want to say they shut it down for good by 10. I guess they keep it open longer during the summer? Of course, that didn't stop some idiot teenagers from getting on it anyway later that night. They were also jumping into the pool from the top of the guard chairs. Brilliant. I finally told the boys we had to go because I didn't want them to have to witness one of those dolts cracking their head open.
  9. On to day 2! Sadly, my husband had to leave at 4:30 am. I woke up when he was leaving, actually I hadn't slept well at all that night and had woken up several times. My tummy was bothering me and I was very congested. I didn't get back to sleep for at least an hour after he left. Even after I woke up again, I still felt really crummy. I was so worried that I was going to be sick while on vacation! But, I also knew that this was how my body sometimes reacts to stress, and decided to make it mind over matter. I wouldn't be sick, and that was that. Nonetheless, I dragged all morning. Kep
  10. Like the bathroom mat says, Howdy! Thank you. It's just one of those "Fort" things that makes me happy. Even in the sh*tter. Yeah, baby! Is anyone keeping score? Cuz I can go out and snap pictures of butts all day long! Please don't let this take you away from your amazing cross-country TR. Now that is worth reading! hehehe. My sons have told me of the funky aromas in those bathrooms. eeeeewwwww I think I have some others in this batch of pictures that will do the same! Is that extra on top of the extra someone already gave me???
  11. Well that would explain why yours are so easy to read, and funny! I just did top-of-the-head thoughts and dumped in a bunch of pictures! Maybe I will try your method for the next one. Minus the flash drive. Ah, I see. Don't have that setup here! Is that a bottle of that wonderful nectar otherwise known as Dew?!? Love me some Mt. Dew!! My pleasure! Already cranking out another one! No worries, though - your post count record will remain intact. I couldn't touch that!
  12. Ended my first ever TR a couple of hours ago. Made me a little sad. Good thing I have another trip to the Fort to begin a new TR! Why not? I know you're all just dying to look at more of my boring exciting pictures of yet another park-free week at the Fort! So let's go! Summer 2012 was a busy one for our family. Lots of travel, kids' camps, beach time. Even though we had already done quite a lot, I could not imagine not making it to the Fort before school started back up. I needed a fix. Fortunately, we are able to take advantage of FL resident rates. And there was availability for the w
  13. Yes, but like I said at the beginning, I have so enjoyed everyone else's and thought I'd give back. Your wish is my command….just finished uploading the August pictures. Thank you! It's not so much that I am having problems. Just wished there was a faster method. I'll get better at it, and will figure it out eventually. Your wait might not be that long, I'm on a roll here. Rainy day! Thank you! That is a very good idea. My photos are already organized very nicely thanks to iPhoto. I'll bet it wouldn't be too hard to figure out how to do just that. I also keep 2 windows open, is that wh
  14. Welcome! While I can't answer for Trish, I know I was at the Fort for a week mid-August. It wasn't that bad to me. However, we didn't tent and I've lived in FL for 20 years so am probably used to it. I do think we've had a pretty average summer as far as temps. Which surprises me, because we had very little cold weather last winter and everyone kept remarking on how that meant it was going to be a brutal summer. But I can remember times when I'd be soaking wet just after a brief bike ride at the Fort in the evening, and that didn't happen this time. FP4
  15. Sounds like the perfect little get-away-from-the-madness weekend. I love places like that.
  16. Wow, that IS a long pull-thru!! It looks like a beautiful park. I have 2 scouts, and can tell it's a great place for Scout groups. My boys would love that playground. Congrats on your son's upcoming nuptials!!
  17. Heading into turn 4…... I went to the Settlement area next: There is a CM waving at me in this one. He was funny. This is a pretty path, too: Then back to the TT to finish packing up, drop the cart off and head on home. Snapped one of the MTP on the way: We put the truck and trailer in overflow and jumped into the other truck to hit the outlets and get some lunch. I needed to get the boys something to wear for Easter the next day. Mission completed, we came back to the Fort to pick up the camper and get on the road. Since we had 2 vehicles, we drove separately. Met up on th
  18. Thanks Doodle. I was hoping it wasn't too boring with no park action included.
  19. What an amazing adventure! Thank you for taking us along. Your pictures are awesome. Like your wife, I've only ever flown to the West coast. Haven't really been anywhere in between! I hope to do something about that someday. FP4
  20. In another photo of that first trip, I noticed our friends who were 2 sites down had that site on 1500 that has the little retaining wall. So it's 2 past whichever one that is. My mistake on the playground info. I will fix that. I thought that the "kiddie" stuff had been moved and they left the "big kid" equipment on the Meadow playground. My kids haven't played on the one at the Meadow in a few years now, but have played on the one by the dog park. Is there still both big kid and little kid stuff at the Meadow? Also, the stuff on the 300 one is very similar to the equipment I photograph
  21. OK. Time to get back on track, and make the final lap. It is now our last day, always the worst day for me. When we have a cart, I always spend the last morning doing some looping before I have to turn it in. And that is what I did! I took a page from the TCD book and arose before everyone else to have a look around. Not as early as he goes on his expeditions, mind you - the sun was up already! I brewed myself some coffee (I cannot stomach that sludge they try to pass off as coffee in the drink stations), grabbed my camera, and off I went. Someone had already been for a swim earlier th
