  1. Pam has pronounced me King of the Squatters. Shouldn't my name be John then?
  2. Maybe thats why we aren't having kids. We don't want to share Disney World with them...hmmmmm

  5. Back on the road again we made it to Old Faithful and the surrounding geyser basin. This is where the Old Faithful Inn is which Wilderness lodge somewhat resembles. And there she is sitting quietly. For those of you that don't know, Old Faithful does not go off at set times all day. It is more that they have discerned the pattern to it, Based on height, duration, and estimated volume they can crunch some numbers and tell you to within 5- 10 minutes the next time it will erupt. There are many other geysers around as well as the visitors center so if you just missed the eruption you can exp
  6. So when last I left you I showed you the prettiest thing I saw in Yellowstone. Have to win the brownie points any way I can. One last view of the basin. As we were leaving the West Thumb geyser area the trail divided around this really big tree. and one more sign to remind you to stay on the boardwalks. As we were heading off toward the Old Faithful area we saw some more locals in the trees. And a nice spot to pull of and take in some of the valley. And then we crossed it again. We had crossed it a few times but never got a picture. As we continued down the road I saw something o
  7. Ok. Sorry for the delay in continuing this report. After last nights FF outage and the crazy work week I have had I am finally going to put up a post tonight. I will be back shortly with some more pictures for you all.
  8. If shes not careful some crazy fiends might come along and hijack this thing...
  9. Thanks for the report Dave. it was a lot of fun following along. We were planning on doing a Disney cruise next summer for our anniversary and all these Cruise reports just keep making it more exciting.
  10. Thanks Rita! Glad you enjoyed the report and pics. RI is quite often overlooked when discussing colonial history but it has a lot of history and sights that are important for innovations and firsts for the whole country. Glad you came along for the fun! Happy to give back a trip report after all teh great ones i read on here. Yep thats where I got it. I had seen it mentioned in a thread on tents here so when I went looking for one I decided to go with that one. I was thinking the same ting when I took the picture. We were pretty close. We had plenty of room for laying down even on o
  11. I didn't forget you all. I just finished up my report for my weekend getaway. I will be jumping back on this tonight.
  12. Glad I am not the only one who thinks this way about taking care of customers.
  13. Ok so we headed back to the campground. Here are some pictures of the cabin for you. Since it came as twin size bunks and you have to supply matress and linens. I decided to push them together so we could fit our queen air matress on it. Looking towards the front of the cabins from the bed. No curtains provided either so you will note the use of stylish beach towel as a curtain. There is no electric or other facilities in the cabin. There is no insulation but it is made with what looks like 3 inch thick wood "logs" so it does retain heat better than our tent was. Here is the view from
  14. That is how I remember as well. and all references on a boat are based looking forward...even if you are looking backwards.
  15. Sorry for the delay in wrapping this one up. It was a very busy week. So when last we left you we had just spent time at Miscquamicut beach and were heading north up Rt. 1 to see some more beaches. The next beach we stopped at was Matunuck Beach. These were taken with Sil's phone. We hit a couple of more beaches after that but in all honesty they all look really similar and we didn't take any pics. We also stopped at a flea market but no pics were allowed. We looked around but didn't buy anything. Does anyone else go to flea markets and see them selling the same stuff you have at hom
  16. You definitely can spend at least one day and possibly 2 at Roger WIlliams Park. The zoo is really nice and can take at least a half a day and with all of the other fun things to see it's a nice attraction for Providence that never really gets any advertising. The weather was gorgeous and we were very grateful for it.
  17. A lot of the camgrounds up here tend towards the rustic mostly because they are not open all year round. This one is a very large one for the area though. I do a lot of summer camping at this campground because of its proximity to the beach. Which will be coming up today. Ok. Sil happened to see me looking at all of the comments and wanted to see what people were saying. I think i need to set the tent up in the backyard now since we don't have a dog house. :banghead: One of the things I like when I am traveling is trying new places or going back to old favorites. I like to share them with eve
