  1. Nothing available for Saturday on Thursday evening. (web or central res) Operator said cancels are released right away and they have access to them. Also said that during the busy periods I should reserve WAY in advance. Tent site available on Friday evening. (central res) 4am Saturday morning I had no problem getting a same day Premium site off the website. Drove up and was on site by 11am. So although is is not reliable or for the faint of heart.. It appears that in this case a same day reservation worked.
  2. Going to experiment with it and will let you all know how it goes. I am lucky enough to be able to go almost any weekend with no planning. If it is available I will just get in and go. I am usually lucky enough to have at least one friend to drag with me at the drop of a hat.
  3. Was thinking similar to regular hotel rooms that even with the charge, things come up and plans change. Over the years I have made many same day reservations during in some cases very busy times. Have called on a Saturday morning after the websites show no rooms and found a room. Thought maybe this would also happen at the Fort. Also I know in many cases in order to get the dates you want, you have to book a longer stay and then modify the reservation.
  4. See I would think on a Thursday or Friday there may be early arriving guests that any cancellations would go to first. I am actually thinking on a Saturday morning, have to guess most guests staying Saturday night would have arrived already or called to cancel.
  5. OK, here is one that I have been thinking about. I live in South Florida about 3 hours away from the Fort. I have to believe there are allot of last minute cancellations. What is the likelihood of calling in the morning and getting a same day reservation? Guessing it would be better to call the Fort directly? Has anyone tried this and is it feasible? Figured if I called around 8 or 9am I could be there by the 11am check in. Steve
  6. Looks official.. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/business/os-disney-locking-swimming-pools-20130926,0,3078078.story
  7. Yup, I always try and go around my birthday (17th) and try to plan it for the weekend before or weekend after. Usually one is empty and the other is kinda busy.
  8. I do September every year. There is one weekend in the middle with no events and the place is empty, It changes every year. If you go during the week it is even slower (if that is possible). I have been doing this since the 70's..
  9. Doesn't seem like getting carts in and out of the Fort would be that difficult. Just load them in a vehicle with 20 or so non English speaking kids in bathing suits. Throw in a few coolers for good measure and they will let you right in the front gate.
  10. I don't need the lottery. I was just notified by the Bona Vacantia Division of the Treasury Solicitor's Department that I am the beneficiary of a legacy. As soon as I send over my banking info they will transfer the funds to me.
  11. I think the Fort needs a good old fashioned public lynching... (stirring the pot) .... Anybody want to buy some rope? My cell phone number is xxx-xxx-xxxx
  12. I just rented for two days from him on the 14th & 15th.. But I had made all my plans through a third party and they referred me to him so it may have been something special.
  13. She was pretty funny, basically a sit down comedienne ghost..
  14. Just went Friday night. Had two friends that are 70 & 48 with me. They both had a blast.
  15. Many of the characters do not put the heads on until they are actually going out into the park. It was weird seeing Winnie with his head under his arm.. They have scent machines that spray cookies and popcorn aroma up onto main street.
  16. Loved Keys, As stated 16 is the minimum. Saw several characters without heads on and partial costumes in the utilidors. Love the way they spray cookies and popcorn up onto main street.
  17. Ended up buying the Dometic... Seems to work really well. I think it is actually made by Magic Chef..
  18. Dole Whip at Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom or Captain Cook's at the Polynesian.
  19. Definitely go through Judy.. And yes she was able to get me the AAA discount. She will find the best deal that applies to you.. And it doesn't cost you anything..
  20. Is it supposed to be real time? Actually tracking the bus.. Or is the the estimated scheduled time?
  21. Looks like you just take the bus marked "Wilderness Lodge" from the settlement depot.
