I'll have to check this place out.  How is the traffic around the campground?  I know Pigeon Forge itself can get very busy.

Its not as bad as downtown, since the CG is a few miles before you get that far. But if it's a busy weekend up there, it's hard to escape the traffic.
And for my money it's still the best deal for a campground in the area even after going to "seasonal" pricing.

We like River Plantation in Sevierville.

Another vote for River Plantation. It has been our "go to" for weekends up there since 2009. Ownership or management changed a couple years ago and now they are part of RVC Outdoors. They have made several improvements since changing like adding a small lazy river and starting to pave the internal roads.

The downside is you need to reserve things in Pigeon Forge as far out as you can for holiday weekends, the fill up FAST.

Does the BGE have a similar recipe for ribs like a regular smoker does... the 3-2-1 method?

3 hours unwrapped, 2 hours wrapped in foil with some liquid in it... beer, apple juice, etc. then unwrapped for the last hour.  Darn good ribs.

I used to do 3-2-1 for baby backs but the last few batches I have done have just been about 4 hours unwrapped. I have done them that way mainly cause I was lazy and didn't want to fool with foiling and adding all the extras in the foil.

Turbo is cooking it at or right around 350 degrees.  The idea is to speed up the process of cooking so it does not take 12 - 18 hours to cook a pork butt.

Yep. I ran mine around 300ish and that 8lbs of pork goodness (pre cook weight of course) took just a little more than 8 hours. I figure for this method I can plan about an hour per pound on cooking. The last 8(ish) pound butt I did "low and slow" took about 17 hours, closer to 2 hours per pound. There was honestly no difference in taste between a low and slow and a turbo'd butt.

It's in the oven. If the finished product tastes anywhere near as good as the batter we have a winner. (yes I licked the bowl)

Oh and I got the cinnamon roll Ben and Jerry's. 8)

  6. Thinking of maybe trying to go there mid April( if they are open) and the new coaster is open, anyone want to meet up let me know as the wife will not be on that trip and hate to ride the coasters alone.

They will reopen March 19th this year.

The Gators are a bit of a mess right now, but I like our new coach, and I trust that he will get things turned around.  I don't have high expectations for next year, but maybe things will be back on the right track after that.  Once the new guy gets his players in the places he wants them, I think we will be in for a nice run.
