Only comment I have on this and them not being at capacity is they have capped the reservations amount and are still allowing Park Hopping after two. Other than October 1st for a few hours I don't believe there has been another day they have closed the parks to hopping due to capacity.

Dolly is ok with hopping.  In fact, it’s encouraged.

One thing we did enjoy at EPCOT, fort the Art Festival the small food booths like at Food & Wine they had one on a walk between the countries and the front, they had one with Grilled cheese & tomato soup for $5.95 for a half sandwich and small soup and it was really good on the chilly day we were there. You could upgrade the sandwich with applewood bacon and different cheese for a little bit more, cheapest lunch EVER at Disney!!!!!

Someone is going to get fired over that one.  They left off the zero...it was supposed to be $59.50!

  3. My sources inside the Walt Disney Company tell me that Bob Iger, toward the end of his retirement address to fellow Cast Members, made an announcement that will have massive implication to CM's and Guests of WDW for years to come!

Just before closing his address, he announced the construction of a 5TH GATE at WDW!

He then let slip the name of this upcoming 5th theme park....Cinnamon Roll Kingdom!!

The officer came up to talk to us. The dog was happily looking at my husband and ignoring me. My husband and I both have our license to carry, and he does so more than I do, back in Texas. The pants he was wearing hadn’t seen a pistol in over a month, though, and had been laundered twice. The dog still pegged us. What a great nose! Anyway, after a quick bag check and patting my hubbys pockets, we went on our way. I told the officer to give that dog a great reward. The name of the dog was a hoot, too. We were scented by officer ‘Scary’ Terry.

Morimoto’s dinner was really nice. We were sat by the kitchen area, we could see into the kitchen from the big floor to ceiling windows they have. I really enjoyed the Iron Chef shows, Japan’s more than America’s, and many other cooking contest shows. Because of that, it was fun watching the plates being prepared. Hubby and I ordered the Peking duck for 2. He had never had duck before, and I’ve only had it rarely in more American versions. We also had the egg roll appetizer, egg drop soup, lo mein and steamed white rice. Didn’t get an adult beverage this time.

    Couple of comments.

First, that's some nose on that dog!  I'll have to keep that in mind when I encounter explosive sniffing dogs.  Hasn't happened to me to this point.

Second, my mouth is watering over that duck!  Peking Duck is one of my favorite dishes...I love finding an authentic restaurant that carves it up tableside.  So delicious.  I like duck in general, but prepared that way is so good.  I also enjoy a good roasted duck with sauerkraut.  But, as you noted, it can be quite fatty.  When prepared properly in a Chinese place I think a lot of the fat renders out of it and it's not so "bathroom inducing".  LOL.

Oh dear, so sorry!   LL is Lightning Lane, the replacement for FastPass +.  You have to buy Genie+ at $15 a day per person to be able to use the LL feature.  VQ is Virtual Queue, what they use for the popular ride as a fastpass feature that you don't have to pay for.   ILL is Individual Lighting Lane, the Fastpass+ you have to actually pay for separately, and can be anywhere from $7 to $10 per person.

BatB is Beauty and the Beast.

Thank you.  I’m sure most readers know those acronyms but I haven’t paid much attention to the details of the Genie system so it was all Greek to me.

One snag we ran into, was that I had linked an account on Genie+ for my husband, that was one I made back in 2014 for FP+ stuff.  It was not his usual MDE account.   So, he had to add his old account on his MDE to use it for Genie+.   He could not book ILL at all, because he had no park reservations or tickets on his MDE account.  It did allow him to book LL for me and the old account though, as long as he did not include his new account.

First off, let me say it's great to see a trip report here.  Enjoying reading it!

But I also have to say, regarding the part I quoted above...I don't know what any of that means but it sounds like the garbage I deal with at work every day.  Technology that is supposed to make things better doesn't work as intended, and we waste more time trying to find a workaround than it would have taken to do it the old way.  Why would I want to do that on vacation??

  7. In broad macroeconomic terms, it’s not surprising that there are more people willing to purchase APs, even at increased prices, than Disney wants to sell.  This is no different than many consumer goods that are sold out and unavailable.  Simply speaking there is more cash in the economy than places or things to spend it on.  The government has added historic amounts of liquidity to the markets.  It has driven stock prices up, and we’ve all seen what the housing market has done.  Same with food, cars…and yes, Disney World.  But never fear, a recession will come and these trends will change.  That’s not a political comment, just an economic certainty.  Cycles are what they are.   Someday APs may be reasonably priced and abundant again.  And we’ll all still be complaining we can’t afford them because we’re broke.  😂

We liked the Old Mill Creamery, but the Apple Valley Creamery comes out ahead for our family ^_^

Well shoot, we haven’t tried that one.  Darn, more ice cream I need to eat.  😂

  9. I think 2 days at Dollywood will be enough.  However, take a look at ticket prices for 2 and 3 days, and compare to season pass prices, as some years if you buy a season pass in December you get the next year free.  Of course if a return trip in 2022 isn't in the cards then that doesn't help you.

As far as other things to do, if the weather is cooperative, I recommend Anakeesta in Gatlinburg.  We also enjoyed the Titanic exhibit.  If you are looking for snow activities, Ober Gatlinburg is worth a look.

I'd recommend having lunch or dinner at the Old Mill restaurant, and/or the Applewood Farmhouse restaurant.  The menus are pretty similar, so you may only want to do one, but we enjoy them both.  If ice cream is your thing, you can't beat the Old Mill Creamery.

I think they are doing that to “protect” themselves.  Last year for Covid the rules were you couldn’t HAND out candy, but you could leave it on a table for people to pick up on their own.

But Club Cool recently reopened with help-yourself push button beverage machines that people will be touching all day while drinking from saliva coated cups.  Makes perfect sense.

"Enjoy drinks inspired by the history of the area, including cocktails that evoke scents of citrus groves, and so much more."

Hmm... I wonder if this means they'll have unique cocktails instead of just the usual WDW standard bar menu?

Wasn't that area more "cattle pasture and swamps" than citrus groves?  Not sure that's a solid basis for a drink menu, though.
