UPDATE: SIGN IS FINISHED! ! Do these count?
Santa ... Shannon replied to PGHFiend's topic in Crafting: Camping and beyond
I'm very envious of the toys you have to play on! It seems to me that the Mickey part is inverted, though. The parts that are normally black outlines are the uncut, white-painted parts, making him look like a negative. Is there an easy way for you to invert the image? Or, depending on the type of file you need perhaps I can help (I'm a graphic artist and can output to all the popular vector, raster and CAD formats). -
Directions and nearby essentials?
Santa ... Shannon replied to Travisma's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Not directly on-topic, but closely related. We don't like leaving the Disney bubble, so I think from now on we will spend our first night at Sherwood Forest or Tropical Palms, both so we are not paying Disney rates for a late-arrival but also so we are close to Walmart to restock and Cracker Barrel to eat cheap before entering the "bubble". And still easily make check-in at the Fort. -
Funny, I always assumed 'Jock' was 'Jaques'. Looking forward to it, nevertheless!

New to Fort Wilderness

I thought I was hot stuff when I had a "portable" black & white tv. It was about the size of two shoe boxes side-by-side, had maybe a 4" screen and ran on something like 9 D-cell batteries. It even had an ear-plug jack (not headphones, ear-plug). -
I've not heard of anyone doing a fridge-swap at the Fort, but who knows? If you're cab'ing it from the airport, it might be worth a stop at Walmart to straight-up buy a dorm fridge. I would not, however, rely on the trading posts to stock your fridge... I've seen better pricing on a mini-bar! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Reservation fiasco
Santa ... Shannon replied to ozmunchkin's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Not trying to be nasty, but the OP could not be bothered to shop around for a reasonable airfare but now cannot afford $15 a night to upgrade to Premium? Fishy. But hey, I don't have a dog in this fight... whatever. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

According to MilitaryDisneyTips.com, the above dates are the only ones for which DISCOUNTED tickets can be purchased, however, military personnel can purchase tickets for sold-out parties for any date (at full price) except Halloween itself. Not sure the rationale for the policy, but there it is. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Availability Issues with Cable Modems?
Santa ... Shannon replied to bhall's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
No, never ended up switching providers at home so I'm still on DSL, so no cable modem. And no, the connection was never "secure", so I ended up dumping, pulling the elbow and capping the inlet each time instead of leaving it hooked up. Didn't want all that sewer gas leakage around the bad fitting elbow, or to take the risk that it come out and dump gray water all over. Was really surprised MTP didn't sell donuts, but I'm not sure it would have helped anyhow. Finally, thanks! We are really excited about the new moho! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Availability Issues with Cable Modems?

Just to follow-up. CM Ray at MTP says that the Fort has REALLY stocked up on modems since November and that he hasn't seen them run out since. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Pooh-Sized Finds?
Santa ... Shannon replied to Santa ... Shannon's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
World of Disney had only one shirt larger than 2x last week: a grey shirt, with characters and "2015" in sizes up to 5x. The same shirt is available here: http://www.disneystore.com/mickey-mouse-and-friends-heathered-tee-for-adults-walt-disney-world-2015/mp/1368101/1000228/. Pretty uninspiring stuff... I bought one... but I was not inspired! They could have at least offered it on a couple of other base-color shirts... grey, really? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Now that we're home I'll take it all apart, clean and lube it and see if it works then. If not, I'll contact Fantastic Fan folks. I love the other two! We had one going and it closed automatically on its own and I'm thinking "great, another faulty fan" until a few minutes later I noticed it had begun to rain. Smart fan! Then, not long after the rain stopped I heard the fan open and turn back on. Really smart fan! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
