Mobile Hot Spot for Camping
Santa ... Shannon replied to ftwildernessguy's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Also worth mentioning: if you have an iPhone on Sprint you can use it as a hotspot. If you check the prices online, the monthly cost is a bit excessive, but what they don't mention is that the rate is pro-rated and you can cancel anytime. So turning it up for a week while you're on the road is not bad at all. Not sure if this is true with other phones on Sprint, or with other providers, but have used it many times in a pinch. -
No, that's the bridge at the golf course. 1800 is well behind those vehicles. ETA: that truck is about 1/3 of the distance from the abomination to 1800, so even if they can see campers (at night, most likely, especially at Christmas and Halloween!) it will not be much of their view. But, if it proves a nuisance, I would think a 10' green privacy fence near the canal facing sites would snuff out the redneck stain.

Sorry, quite right. We are going November so that fact didn't stand out to me! Details are here: http://www.militarydisneytips.com/blog/military-discounts/military-discount-prices-on-mickeys-very-merry-christmas-party-2014/ -
Post Your Pictures From the Fort Here!

From our very first "visit" to the Fort. We were staying off-site in the Spring of 2004 and thought we'd like to stop by and check the place out. Parked in the overflow and walked around a bit... we returned for our first stay 7 months later! -

And, since I showed our first, pitiful efforts at Christmas decor I thought I should show our best efforts, to date, anyway (2009, I think, in 300): -

No, this was sometime earlier, maybe 2004 (?) and we were in 1800. But 2008 and 500 sound like a match. Our only stay in a premium. -
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
Santa ... Shannon replied to cindymac11's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Military tickets are available the day of the party at MK guest services for $20 less... even on days the party is sold out! Just a note for those eligible. As for worth-while-ness, I love the party. And since I don't have an AP it's a pretty good value. I can hit all my fav MK attractions with little to no line, see the parade, and special fireworks. I've done it three or four times and am going again this year! -
There is no current Disney document, afaik, that lists "designated pet" loops, but pets are permitted, so to the public there is no reason to assume that any particular loop is not pet-friendly. That is, of course, until they put you in a loop with signs at its perimeter saying "no pets beyond this point". Why should guests care more about the "rules" than the management does? Request what you want, no one can expect you to be steeped in Fort history and to hold to classic loop designations.

Our first Christmas visit to the Fort... needless to say, we had no idea what to expect. UNDERACHEIVERS! -
I'm sorry to be negative, but I can't imagine buying this: When all you need is this: ...unless you need a parade float, or need to move a few tons of hay when not camping. I see Tandem Tows for sale used quite often on craigslist for 1300-3000. Seems far more practical, and easier logistically than the big a$$ trailer, unless you need a big a$$ trailer anyhow.
-
I really like the Tandem Tow dolly, but a Mighty Hauler is another good option. No trailer storage issues. But your dinghy has to be flat-towable and the combined cost of the hauler and blue ox would be costlier than a Tandem Tow (depending on options). If I were going to do the Tandem Tow, I'd want the dinghy to be beefy enough to hitch the trailer to with the golf cart on it. I would not want to get caught in a difficult situation.

Disney Golf Cart Rental Rate

I guess a big advantage of the Mighty Hauler is that if you're not towing you can back up. -
Cheap and Disney do not go together
Santa ... Shannon replied to ependydad...Doug's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Yep. One day is a pricey proposition. A somewhat cheaper option might be to do the Christmas party at MK instead, save @ $30 per head. If a member of your party is military or a vet you can save even more on the party.
