  1. I blame the parents for that one. My son skateboards but he knows most parks don't allow it so his board usually doesn't come with us when we camp unless we are planning on taking him to a skatepark. And when we go to Disney the board stays home, no need for it since they aren't allowed.
  2. Awwww! That's cute. Here we are on Dinosaur, we road this ride numerous times because our youngest loved it and he rarely loves rides so we did it over and over again for him. And this is why I like the candid shots, I am in this photo in the background, I look like heck but I am there, I am never in photos and since I wasn't taking photos I was able to watch my autistic son interact with Ferb. Yeah memory maker is totally worth it.
  3. If I went multiple times a year I probably wouldn't get it every time but we aren't able to go more than once every two years so for us it's totally worth it. I love that I don't have to worry about catching every moment. When my kids met with characters I'd ask the photographer to get candid interaction shots, so worth it to enjoy watching and not having to see everything through my camera lens. And then the ride photos, I don't know about you but we ride certain rides over and over again and have fun doing lots of silly shots on the rides with memory maker we get all of those. Also we make s
  4. These photos are so awesome. I wasn't able to go to Disneyworld as a kid as I grew up in California so seeing what it used to look like is pretty awesome.
  5. This is an AMC theater. They redid the entire thing and when you get your tickets your seats are assigned. The seats fully recline. I won't go except for during the day when it's inexpensive and since I homeschool we often go and it's usually empty. The only problem is not falling asleep.
  6. Hmmm…we could use an outing next week, maybe we'll go see it. We don't have dollar theaters around here but we do have a fancy theatre with recliners that has $4 movies during the day when it's empty.
  7. Thank you so much for sharing your trip photos. The sappy mom I am I found myself crying a lot because it looked like you had so much fun. Our trip in January was our last trip together as our full family, our oldest left for school this year. I think trips with older kids are so much fun. Our youngest though does not like roller coasters so I spent a lot of time on our last trip waiting with him, which was fine. The idea of Disney bounding is awesome, I hadn't heard of it but I will have to tell my kids about it, I imagine at least a couple of them will be doing it for our next trip. I ma
  8. Best thing: cheapest way to stay at Disney Worst thing: I can't afford to stay for the month I'd need to do everything there that I want to do.
  9. What lovely photos, it is so beautiful out west. And happy anniversary!
  10. I could totally do the 1,100 miles alone with the kids. I've driven cross country lots of times alone, but there is no way I would pull the trailer alone, I don't trust myself with that. My husband has no worries about me driving alone but I do think he'd freak if I suggested towing the trailer.
  11. I refuse to go anywhere near Florida in June or July, ugh the humidity here in Ohio at that time of year is enough for me, I'd die in Florida.
  12. No Lou, I'd never want to do that to you, perhaps we could have a quota or something?
  13. My husband works so hard and then when we vacation he continues to work hard because he is the primary driver when we are towing the trailer. I can tow it just fine but being a former trucker he just isn't comfortable not being in control. We always vacation with the trailer because it's cheaper than two hotel rooms. So now that the oldest has moved out we are down to just 6 of us. Six is a magic number at Disney, it means we could do one hotel room. We've looked at flights, they aren't too much for round trip. It's a 20 hour drive down to Disney for us, we end up staying in a campground on th
  14. Ugh! Can't we just encourage them to build a Disney down there? Sorry still bad memories from my trip in January.
  15. Being close to the beach is so fun when you have little ones, what a happy surprise.
  16. I see these cute little renovations and get so jealous. My husband is very much in the mindset of "keep it original", sigh he worries about resale. It looks great, I would love to make my hybrid a little more homey.
  17. Mostly I meant "bad" as in difficult to back in or in the case where he mentioned a badly placed tree. It's worth knowing that stuff in advance at check-in rather than waiting until you get to the site. Some sites at the fort are certainly better than others and the app is great for knowing that.
  18. Make sure to download the fort fiends app, that way when you check in you can check out your site before going back there, it can be a great lifesaver to avoid bad sites.
  19. You will have a great time at the fort no matter what loop you are in. We have never had a cart, honestly I like not rushing and taking the bus. I may be in the minority but I do try and take my time. And we always use the comfort stations because there are so many of us and using our small bathroom isn't practical. You will have a blast.
  20. It really is a personal decision. Do you need the sewer hookups? How much of a cost difference is it? Would you rather put that money towards food or souvenirs. Will you have a cart? The buses really only add a few minutes to the day. Really it comes down to preference. Honestly I'm cheap, we stay in the full hookup loops so I am biased and if I were in your situation and didn't need the sewer hookup I would stay where I was.
  21. Thank you for mentioning this, our last trip out we had issues with ours and it kept going off, we've never had this issue before and we do have a KZ.
  22. When we want to go to rope drop we take the bus and then take the monorail back. But yeah it's fun to take the monorail into Epcot at least one. I actually like setting aside at least a day for riding the various forms of transportation around. It's fun to just ride the monorail and various boats around.
  23. My kids are close in age (the fifth was born when the oldest was still 5) so I had a good sized triple stroller. I had that because I walked everywhere. I would have never dreamed of taking that monstrosity into Disney. In fact we waited until our youngest was 4 before even attempting a Disney trip and when we did we rented the double stroller. We only went once with a stroller, I hated pushing that thing around but I am one of those moms who brings the least amount of stuff possible. Whenever we went on trips I outfitted my kids with little backpacks with snacks and whatever else they needed
  24. We will just be reusing ours until they get too dirty or worn out.
  25. Which comes in handy when another mom of many is on the same laundry schedule as you.
