  1. Awesome! Was it hard to remove your old decals...did they leave a discolored mark?
  2. I'm only post 7...so I guess I'm still okay :) First :welcome: One night is quick...but enjoy! Yes, the Fort has lots of activities. There is a campfire (with marshmallow roast) and movie with chip-n-dale, horse drawn carriage rides, if it's warm you can enjoy the pool and/or hot tub and you can go down to the beach and watch the boat parade (each night at 9:45p I think). Other fiends will be along to tell you what I've missed :) Have a great time!!
  3. We'll miss you by one day. We're scheduled to arrive on the 10th. Have fun!! :)
  4. Tire size: Currently the tires on the trailer are a 4 ply 14". Rated for 1750 lbs each at the full 50psi. Sufficient for our hybrid which is 3700lbs empty. With this being said, we have two options when installing new tires: Stay with the 14" but go to a 6 ply radial. Price $400 out the door. OR Up-size to a 15" 8 ply radial. Price $615 for the tires and rims. I believe both are an ST tire (I know the 14" one is). Thoughts are which is the better choice? We have two more trips planned to the Fort this year...each way is about 465 miles. Next year we'll do at least one trip to
  5. Thanks. Our trailer does have a double axle, he was backing up and... our driveway has a pretty steep incline.
  6. Okay... so we brought the camper home yesterday and while Tom was backing into our driveway, I was out of the truck trying to "help" him with backing it in. While doing so, I could hear this noise (that originally I thought was coming from our truck). I was able to get close enough and realized that it sounded like the tires (or maybe the axel??) was groaning. I'm not sure how else to describe it. It was this low, loud, hum. Thoughts???
  7. Yeah... the previous owner had it set on 3 links, my husband set it on 6. I a passenger in the car and even I could feel the trailer behind us (which I wasn't expecting, simply because it's not a heavy, heavy trailer and the Armada is suppose to be a pretty decent hauling vehicle). It was very windy today, so we know that was a factor also. I've heard owners say, "I don't even feel my trailer behind me".... guess I was just hoping for that :)
  8. Yay... we made it home, all in once piece, trailer still attached :jumpforjoy Question for my fiends...the ride felt pretty "bouncy". There is a weight distribution hitch attached, but I don't think we had it hooked up properly. Think that made the difference? Camper weighs around 3800 and we're towing with a Nissan Armada (tow capacity of 9000lb). Thoughts??
  9. Haha... that does help :) Thank you.... for all of the information you provided. Super helpful. :thumbsup2:
  10. Had to look at the pictures again but yes... double axle. So now I've even more confused. This trailer business...always seems to pros/cons to every little thing, which is tough for me as I'm a black/white kind-of gal. Give me the rules, and I'll follow them, type of person :) I feel that way too....
  11. So, if we inspect the tires and they look sound... do you think we're okay? I just called Discount Tire and they do install camper tires; maybe I should just have them inspect the tires? Contacted the previous owner and he had the camper for about 4 years and thought the tires were new we he purchased it from the original owner. This is also very helpful because I don't know that I want to keep the tires if they are ST. We have a decent drive to Disney and even though I can't imagine that we'll go faster than 60 - 65 mpg, I agree with you...running tires at 95% of their speed ra
  12. Question: If the tread is still good (which is how I judge my car's tires).... why would I replace them because of age?
  13. Yeah, we've lived in Atlanta for 11 years now. Drivers are stupid (oh, did I say that out loud?).... I mean, crazy. Tires... do I go to a dealer, like Camping World? We get our car tires replaced at Discount Tire, but I'm guessing they don't do TT.
  14. Thanks Ray. The previous owner had this camper for around 5 years I believe and had not replaced the tires. They look okay...but I think you're suppose to replace camper trailers more so because of time and not conditions....does this sound right??
  15. The mirrors on the vehicle (I believe) are the standard ones that came with it... but I like them because they have the blinker on the mirror which could be helpful if I'm getting ready to pull into a lane where I missed a car in my blind spot (gives them a chance to, hopefully, honk!). Having said that...after we've hooked the trailer up and have it close to our house, there is a large parking lot from a closed down furniture store nearby; we will drive circles in there and if the mirrors don't feel large enough, we'll add the trailer mirrors. Really good thought on the height... I ha
