  1. Thank you. Both are really great suggestions. I spoke to another RV dealer, whose parts department suggested velcro (guess they make an industrial strength) to hold the sides. You don't have to undue the sides when you set up or tear down, so that be an option. I also have an email into 3M asking them which of their products might be the best fit. I feel so foolish... to think, that I tought, once I found the truck and the trailer that the "hard part" would be past us. Heck, now I need to figure out how to make everything work, get the commode to stop smelling and see if we can install
  2. So, many of you fiends have been along for our journey and several of you have offered some great advise. Once again, I need help. After a lot of searching, we finally decided on (and found) a hybrid trailer for our family. We purchased one from a private owner here in Atlanta and, all in all, it appears to be in decent shape. The one thing we knew that we would need to do, was to replace the front/larger pop-out bed. I was able to track down the manufacturer who made the original product (Top Stitch) and was advised that I needed to remove the old pop-out, mail it to them and they would
  3. :welcome2: I think others are typing at the same time so....this may be a repeat :) Check in is 1pm. Check out is 11am. For our family, we enjoy visiting the other resorts. You can, of course, eat at their restaurants...you cannot swim in their pools. Having said that, if this is your first trip to WDW, enjoy The Fort; there's lots to do at this campground! Have fun! :)
  4. Hey Dave... help me understand the a/c part. If I plug this into my camper and then plug an extension cord in (one of those larger/thicker orange ext. cords), I am NOT able to turn the a/c on in the trailer? I was going to turn it on for a few hours, to test it out before we left...but it sounds like that might not be a good idea?
  5. Hmmm... so maybe Tom and I could use this ourselves and do the bearings on our own? Or... maybe this one: http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-34550-Handy-Packer-Bearing/dp/B0002NYDYO/ref=pd_bxgy_auto_text_y
  6. Thank you. On filling the commode with the Flush King, do you know the tank is full because the water starts coming out the drain? Sorry, basic questions...I know. I remember reading that somewhere else... thank you for the reminder! :)
  7. Thanks Dave. A couple more questions: 1) I think you need to drain the water at a dump station...am I understanding correctly? If so, where do you get the water to fill the tank again? And, to confirm, you are willing the tank completely correct? I think you do this by putting a hose in the toilet, is this right? 2) If I get the Flush King piece...do I still need some sort of brush to clean things out? 3) The sewer cap... do you drive with that on? And now I'm wondering if part of our problem, is the fact that we have a tarp on our camper...?? We put that on, to try and help protect it
  8. Can you please clarify... you fill your tank (with the drop ins) and then empty it, 4 times in a row? Our trailer does not have a tank washer; my dad mentioned that I need some sort of brush?
  9. We'll be heading to the Fort, in three weeks... but the commode in our trailer is REALLY starting to smell. I just threw a few gallons of hot soapy water (plus some baking soda and a little white vinegar) in there, but I know I need a good enzyme to really kill the smell. My thought was to fill it up, let it soak for a week and then dump it. Then... how much water/enzyme do I add back in? We may (or may not) use the commode at the Fort. If it is used...it will only be a couple of times. More than likely, we will not use it. Can anyone recommend a really good product?
  10. This is a test of Disney's, "should we or should we not" try-out system. The cast members of your area in voluntary forced cooperation with local, regional and corporate management have developed this system to keep you informed confused and frustrated in the event that you might have actual enjoyed this new activity. If this had been an actual improvement, the testing of Atmosphere Entertainment would have been followed by official information, news or instructions on new rate increases. This website serves all Fort Fiends within the world wide web area. This concludes this test of Disney's,
  11. This one makes me super excited for our next trip, coming up in just a few weeks! Great pic :)
  12. My mother "laughs" at the fact that Disney actually got people, to pay these high ticket prices...to go stand in line, to see a character (when I was growing up, they just wandered the park). That, and she's pretty sure that Disney's main goal is to keep everyone "in transit". The signage isn't always the best on property and sometimes the buses can run pretty slow... so she says that Disney's main goal is just to keep you stuck moving from place to place and then, once you do get there, pay to wait in line to see a person in a costume (lowest overhead ever!). That's her take on it anyway :
  13. I haven't... but then again, I'm not a runner. Having said that, this might be the one race that would make me a runner...or at least a really fast walker :) I've had a couple of friends do it and they had a blast. Go for it!! :jumpforjoy
  14. That's something to consider... Thanks. Good to know that chances are the fridge will still be cold, even if we don't run it while we're driving. I may shove some frozen water bottles in there, the morning we leave, and then not run it on the drive... still debating which way to go.
  15. My parents have made plans to join us in October, so I've made reservations for the BBQ for that trip. Question that I have, is do you think that we'll have a lot of trouble getting a seat "in the front"? What I mean by that, is looking at the seating chart there are about 5 tables that look straight at the stage. The thing is, my mother has bad health and one of her afflictions, is her neck. She had spinal surgery several years back and they ended up fusing two or three vertebrae at the base of her neck, so turning her neck is very tough and ends up putting her in a lot of pain. The syste
  16. Thanks fiends! Lots of great advise, as always, but this one has to be my favorite as truly... I could see us doing/forgetting this :)
  17. Newbie question: Is there a way to turn the fridge on in our TT, about 24 hrs before we leave, so I can stock it with food? And I guess the second part to that question would be... can I keep it cold/on while we drive to the Fort (about 8 hrs)?
  18. 205/17/14. Hybrid TT. Weighs 3700 dry. We could do a 15" tire, but the local trailer dealership said there's not really any benefit in that. Double axle.
