  1. We are on our second kz. IMHO, they are definitely built better than most. But if ruggedness is what you want over comfort go with the work play.
  2. For those who like the butthurt comment, please keep this form handy if butthurt is witnessed.
  3. The campsites are really really big here. That pic with the A frame is probably the same size as 5 others. The ones facing the water are the biggest. Some of the lower number sites are not really deep, though. I would say that you could put two campers with slides on any site. A lot of people had their camper, vehicles, and a boat all within their site. The only problem I see with big rigs is backing in. The road is narrow with trees, poles, etc in the way of some sites. I would say no problem with 33' and smaller on any site. About half of the sites I would not want to put our 40'er on. I
  4. A transmission cooler is super easy to install. 30 minute job if you know what you're doing. Tube and fin models are cheap. Stacked plate models are better and a bit higher. You don't need a power steering cooler. It won't see any difference in load while towing. Brake controller and trailer lights can be bought as a plug and play deal. Hitch isn't hard to install either. You could buy aftermarket parts for around $500 and do the install yourself. You could use the saved $ to pop for the best, highest load rated tires available and a weight distributing hitch insert. That would do more for
  5. Google "look at this f'n hipster tumblr" for lots of entertainment. Then Google "hipster-ass hipster bike" for some more laughs.
  6. X2 We bought some at Walmart for $40 each. I can actually sleep in these.
  7. So did you actually attend the convention or just bail on it and do Disney? I know what I would have done. It must feel nice to get a good discount on a nice resort. We stayed at the WL on our honeymoon in 2000. I think we paid around $300 a night. I would have a real hard time paying the rack rates today. That rain looked like a full on deluge.
  8. I wouldn't worry too much about that. I am guessing you have to be active or retired military to use that facility? Thanks. It is just a little frustrating. I didn't finish my Disney TR either because 1, I have been extremely busy with family matters and 2, when I post an update I get about 4 responses. Words just don't flow from me to the screen very well. To go through the effort of dealing with pics, typing something halfway entertaining, and getting little response just isn't fun. No big deal...I am not butthurt over it....just not going to expend the effort much an
  9. Thanks to those few who responded. I've noticed for a while that TR's seemed to be a bit clique-ish around here. Some TR's get 3 pages worth of responses before the second update and some just fall of their face. I think that I'm done with TR's....just going to read them from now on. end rant.
  10. Driving on the beach would be bad in the panhandle. There would be idiots stuck everywhere. 'Twas. Here is a link to where I was. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=30.506926,-86.411998&num=1&t=h&z=16 I have a lot of pics of the CG coming up.
  11. I ate them before any photo could be taken. I will have to remember the baby powder. I actually showered off and changed clothes before we left. The state park has some nice facilities.
  12. Yep, they just keep growing. Its weird. I like your beach style, for sure. I actually had a good time, believe it or not. You lost me at Jersey.
  13. Moving on to Friday. We cooked up some cinnamon rolls for breakfast. You can't go wrong with cinnamon rolls. After breakfast I took the girls on a hike on the Sand Pine trail. Here is the bridge leading to the trail. This bridge used to be a dam. Some pics along the way This little stream was flowing really well. I guess their restoration project is a success. An old lake viewing area The hiking trail was pretty good. They had 12 posts marking various plants and features. Along with a pamphlet this made it pretty educational. The kids collected leaves to go along w
  14. OK. Time to get this little TR rolling. Last month we decided to take a short trip to Destin. My wife's sister lives in Crestview, and they had planned some sort of "buying party" selling bags or something. Plus we needed a few days to relax. I first tried for Topsail, but that is just about impossible on short notice. Henderson was booked too. Third choice was Rocky Bayou SP in Niceville. I had wanted to stay there for a while anyway, as the pics on the website looked nice. Also it was hard to argue with the $16 a night camping fee. I took 3 days of vacation, and we left Wednesday at 1
  15. It's a beautiful place... lots of wilderness...full TR in the coming days.
  16. I had a set on my last 5'er. They were great. They are the only "ST" I would consider using.
  17. I thought this was the old check in building that was further up the road from the present one?
