My favorite souvenirs are my Disney Pandora charms.

We don't buy much when it comes to souvenirs anymore, but I try and find one cool thing each trip. My criteria is generally that it needs to be something we can see and/or use fairly regularly ...and that there's a place to put it at home or in the camper. 
My favorites from years past are...
- my 40th anniversary Dooney & Bourke purse (used every day)
- the glass "Beurre" butter dish from France in Epcot (used every day)
- the $7 silver ring I bought in Norway (wear it all the time)
Last year I sprang for one of each of the 4 Starbucks "you are here" mugs.  They're great, heavy mugs that feel good in your hand, hold a good amount, can go in the dishwasher, and stack nicely on the shelf. I love them and use them almost every day.  I've got coffee in one right now. :)
 

Christmas ornaments. I have a whole collection from Disney.

A subtle T-shirt or sweatshirt.  The cheap toys break before you get home, and the pins are fun to collect and nice to look at, but a shirt could give you years of service.  It may be a little boring but you'll remember your trip every time you put it on.

I did not "buy" it (unless you count the cost of the trip) but hands down my favorite is my spike. 

We have Christmas Ornaments from each trip - I love those.
But I did buy the salt and pepper  shakers that look like the Magic Kingdom trash cans on this last trip, and I love them!  

We miss you.

You are correct Jason, at that point, they are not thinking straight because of the depression.  Here is an article I just read about suicide.

I am glad you were there for your dad, I am sure that was very emotional for you.

A month would be great if you go into it with the right mindset. Do you want that to be a vacation month, or are you looking to just live life?
 
i stayed at the fort for a year and a half. The only reason for leaving is the cost. But we set out guidelines too. We had lives to live that did not involve Disney. We paid bills, ran errands, worked, etc. but we were able to enjoy everything the fort had to offer when we wanted. The hardest part was everyone around us was there to vacation and we had to separate ourselves from that. We couldn't rush off to the beach for fireworks every night because we had to work early the next morning. Or we had to plan ahead of time when there was a golf cart parade to be sure we didn't get caught by it. But it was a great experience. 

I also received the sweatshirt today in the mail.  It is a very nice sweatshirt! Love it!

Yes Mo, he is VERY loved... maybe a bit too much by our daughter (I'm finding that I have to save the pup from her "love" from time-to-time, haha ).

I think one reason some people talk about the good ole days in such positive light, is because they only remember the good stuff and forget the bad stuff that went with it. Only my opinion of course, lol !!
It's good to see a post from you Ray, I had noticed you have been gone a while. Hope all is well.

Ok I'll start. 
 
Since my history doesn't go back as most of you on hear my past memories are quite limited. 
 
But one of my favorite memories was of meeting the person and seeing her camp site at Christmas 2010.  Unfortunately she is no longer at the fort. But she is the one that introduced me to FF.Net and the Fort in general.   I think y'all know who I'm referring to. 
 
My resent memory was meeting several of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting at Dave's site at the Christmas 2014 GG at the fort.  

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy reading on FF. I don't post much, but I enjoy reading about everyone's
adventures.  I also read other forums, but FF is different and unique.  Everyone here are very welcoming and are people
who care and will actually be there for anyone in need. Example: the little girl whose pins were stolen.  All of you that
stepped up and sent pins, your awesome! I tip my hat to you. Maybe someday I will meet and become friends with 
some here.
