Beckers 1,136 Posted October 24, 2013 Report Share Posted October 24, 2013 Meanwhile at the Fort, the delivery company for our RV was told by the CM at check in that we didn't have a site assigned yet, and to drop it off in overflow. He did so, and left us with no camper at our site when we arrived. OldeKoot was a VERY unhappy camper! The manager at the front desk is a trainee in a temporary assignment, and did very little to resolve the issue well, we were put up in a cabin overnight, but were told that we would have to pay to have the camper moved to our site. As an aside, 509 has to be the smallest site at the Fort! It could barely hold our truck, much less the camper and anything else. I asked to speak to the Duty Manager, and guess who showed up ... Doug Lord! Problem resolved. First thing in the morning, both Disney and I will be searching for someone that can deliver the camper to our site (NOT 509), and Disney World will pick up the bill. TWO major problems with satisfactory resolutions ... but it's been one HELL of a day. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

They said do you have a truck that can move a 5th wheel. I said yes and I'll be in about 1. So I drop my trailer off and go meet Denny from the front. He walks me out to a camper and days please take it to 911. As I'm hooking up a red truck pulls up and the bulb comes on it's Ed and Monma. I told Denny I know this guy and he voted for Obama and I decline to move it now. Kidding lol. So anyway I take it in and the rest is history. Hope you got it taken care of. Took OldeKoot to The Wave for lunch to calm her down while we were waiting. Get back to overflow, and who do I see getting ready to hitch up ... DONNIE! Yes, FortFiend Donnie! What are the chances of that happening? Now it's time to set up. WTFort happened to the water hose, RITA?!? Put that on the list of things we need to go buy. WhereTFort is the FortFiends sign ... RITA agian. Awning? That requires that metal rod to unlock and pull down the awning ...RITA? Do you detect a pattern here? A quick trip to Wal-Mart, and we aquire a new hose and pressure regulator ... and a couple additional outdoor end tables. While we are there, OldeKoot sees the All Hallow's Eve (aka Halloween) section and decides we have to go to Sam's because they havethe "BIG bags". Off to Sam's. She finds a bag with the mixture SHE likes, and puts it in the buggy, stating, "That's MY bag"! They just happen to have long strings of orange lights and purple lights next to the candy, so ... . I get a surge suppressor power strip for the camper, and while in the Electronics Section, OldeKoot notices the cameras, and conveniently points out that she needs a good camera, so. She has a cute little purple (I refuse to say that it is 'plum' colored) Nikon camera. "Did I get film for my new camera"? How do you explain that this little 16 GB SD card is the film? By this time, because I have spent so much time shopping, she is hungry. Time to swing by Winn-Dixie for dinner and "breakfast meat". Finally we get back, and while I unpack our few items, OldeKoot starts getting supper ready. Chicken wings, fruit salad, olives, pickles and grapes from Winn-Dixie. While I'm getting the water connected, she finishes eating and is getting ready for a hot bath. Such a rough day for OldeKoot, maybe tomorrow will be less stressful on her. ?.. I suspect you are actually enjoying running all over town with her. Hopefully you got it all in so you can stay at the Fort and let her harass you there instead.
