This trip started in New Mexico in 2011..Ft. Wilderness or Bust..

The very first night it almost became a bust!

Our first night was in Texas, since this was in late April we had out weather radio on. It went off for a tornado!  This night was  the only time our little TV actually picked up a local station and we watched the weatherman. Luckily for us, it was way up north of us and a small one. (We didn't really have any wind where we were). We made it through the night..

Our trip took much longer than a normal Fiend trip I suspect.  We had to stop every few days for this..

We also wonder all over Florida.

After two weeks  of traveling (I think we could get to Disney in 4 days without side trips)..

we arrive and set up in 1521..

We didn't have many squashed bugs until we left John Penningcamp SP  and headed to Orlando. Most of that was done in one day. lol

We liked 1521. It was close to the comfort stations, bus stop and tether ball. We didn't play though as DH is 6'2" and I'm 5'4", he'd just hit it over my head.  <_< If you have kids that need a nightlight, it was great as the lights from the meadows shined through the canvas. Once I closed my eyes all was good. :)

We were there over Mother's Day, no AC but we used a fan and slept fine. We brought our bikes and rode around the campground with no difficulty or accidents. Next time I'll try harder to spend time in the campground. Never found the trail over to Wilderness Lodge though.

DH isn't crazy about RD but knows we get more rides if we go. We did make a few..

Well, that's a brief summary of our trip. We went up to St. Augustine to watch a golf tournament then headed straight home.

Epilogue:

A few months later we went out to pack for a trip to Yellowstone. The PUP collapsed, we weren't hurt but we now own this..

Love seeing old pictures of the fort when it still had some wilderness.  Do you remember how many total miles you traveled for this trip?  We have never done a really long trip it sounds like fun.

Thank you everyone.

Not sure how many miles we traveled. We usually do 2,000 - 3,000 miles but that includes sightseeing.

We did get to Yellowstone that year but it was via motels (we already had reservations at the Old Faithful Inn). We didn't think it was a good idea to buy a new trailer and leave in a week to make our reservations. lol

I'll try to do a Yellowstone TR but it may be even more vague than this one.  We get to Yellowstone every 3 years.
