WDWMagic is reporting that the Carousel of Progress, located in the Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland, will be closing for a quick refurbishment from May 13-15, reopening on May 16.

That's what I'm guessing, carpet shampoo, steam clean the seats, thorough cleaning of the set, maybe a hydraulic tuneup or two on the Animatronics

At least the CoP at WDW keeps some of Walt's nostalgia - CoP in DL in the mid 2000's was converted to a video game area, with CMs present to reboot the games because they crashed frequently. Not very Disney like.

I like CoP too. A perfect late evening for me is fireworks, followed by dessert, CoP, Peoplemover, then home to the Fort.

Yes, yes, it's been on the calendar for what Disney calls a refurbishment, but I'm not sure three days is long enough to be considered that.

I think it is. You put enough explosives inside it, kaboom, and it's down in seconds, good riddens.

I think they could update it also, and make it a full 5 rooms. Load and unload are two different rooms, so only 4 "show" rooms right now. They could lengthen the sequence on each room a bit and bring everyone back around to the first room again, and make load and unload the same room. Folks could file out of one door, as folks are coming in behind them on the next door. That way the gap between the 40s and the "present/future" wouldn't be so big. Or they could go 00's, 30's, 60's 90's, teens.

I love the CoP and the peoplemover too. A trip to Disney wouldn't be complete without them. It's a Small World too!!!!!
