  1. We cut the chord before the switch to digital TV. We had Netflix for a long time but we never really like their original programming and with the loss of so much content as their providers start their own services we dropped them. Their price increase for less content didn't help either. We switched to the lower cost Hulu plan so the Disney bundle actually looks pretty good to us as it isn't that much more for the Disney stuff (we really don't care about ESPN). I also have Amazon Prime but carry that for a different reason than TV so it is just an added perk. Edit: As I still need a land
  2. Sorry to hear about the total on your RV but it is good that the manufacturer will replace it with a new one. Since the new floor plan doesn't suit you as well do they have one that does? I think with the dangerous design flaw your original trailer had they should be somewhat flexible on the replacement. After all the types of failures you've had could have cost them much more if there had been injury or death involved.
  3. Florida water has a strong taste that takes some getting use to. I can even taste it in something like ice tea. What we do and I recommend for folks that are visiting is to stick to bottled water for their drinking, cooking and beverages.
  4. I hope they are convicted on all counts. There is no excuse for this type of behavior no matter where you are.
  5. Reading this I'm surprised this got any traction as it looks like a pure hoax to me. Then again most conspiracy theories don't meet the smell test so why not this? The whole thing that tipped it as a joke for me is airline personnel working in character and funny voices. It just wouldn't happen when the crew has to project an air of being in charge. My hat off to whoever thought it up though.
  6. The link doesn't work anymore.
  7. Rene and I are planning a trip to Michigan for next year's May trip. We haven't been up that way since my parents moved away in the 80's. The current plan is to travel the lower peninsula around the lakes with a side trip to the Henry Ford Museum/Greenfield Village. After that it will be up for a day or two around the straights then through the upper peninsula. Finally to finish the trip we plan to go around Lake Michigan to visit with Rene's family west of Chicago for a few days before returning home.
  8. The closest traditional movie theatre is about a 20-30 minute drive. If we had the option of $5 close by we would likely go more often. We have had a theatre in town for a few years now but it is one of those gastro/dine-in types a local restaurateur owns. The typical price is $15 for an evening show. Of course you can get an gourmet hamburger with sides and a local microbrew delivered to your leather recliner but if we wanted to eat out we would go to a restaurant.
  9. We do that quite a bit or for some of them wait until they show up on one of the streaming services. A movie has to be something special to get us out to the theatre these days.
  10. I was thinking some type of a drawbridge as well. After all it doesn't have to be opened very often.
  11. Rene would like the sweatshirt with the snap up neck.
  12. I just don't get the whole remake thing unless Disney has become so bereft of creativity that they can't come up with any new ideas for family entertainment. I understood Mary Poppins 2, which we liked as it was a sequel, but the others?
  13. If you are referring to the statement that down attendance is related to restrictions on local passholders that would be pretty accurate. Disneyland has always been supported much more by those living in SoCal than tourists. It also received a fair amount of support from people living in the San Francisco Bay Area as it is only a 1.5 hr flight or about a 5 hour drive. When I lived in SoCal in the mid 70's I would go to Disneyland at least once a month. At that time they would would have A list music acts on a regular basis and it was a good place to take someone on a first date. Of course it i
  14. I think this would be a more accurate representation:
  15. I like the part where she says since all three of you liked it, it has to be good.
  16. It's nice to see something different than your typical fast food fare for a quick serve restaurant.
  17. I think this will be just like any other rule enforcement where implementation is will depend upon the CM involved in the decision. Andy will say sorry it is too big, Mandy will let anything through and Candy will flip a coin.
  18. Even if you fly down if you are on property nothing says you can't pop over to the Fort to see some of the seasonal decorations.
  19. Not all of us on vacation pay lots extra for stuff. One of the reasons for the trailer is to bring our own food and I'm always sure to have enough microbrews to last the week. For me it really comes down to if WDW is worth the premium compared to other things we can do. It is getting to the point with the monetization of guest perks, constant price increases and overcrowded parks WDW just isn't worth the premium for a couple of older folks.
  20. I done plenty of planning. I've even stayed up extra late to be able to get to FP+ the second my window opened and still couldn't get a pass to the rides we really wanted. At least with the Disney system I'd have a fighting chance.
